    Whilst I agree about shopping around for the cheaper option; buying the slightly more expensive product can help local, small purchasers rather than the large multinationals.

      I agree with you and did not articulate it in the way I would have liked too. I would have included how beneficial the utilization of farmers markets are and how I try to buy local when I can. It’s a difficult balance at times just wasn’t articulated in the best way! Thank you for mentioning it

    I agree with you about the stores. I dont go to any expensive grocery store until there is a item that the other stores dont have or if i just want to be curious on what they are selling because i haven’t been there for months or years.

      Truly is! Was surprised how well my local grocery store is price wise as well. I’m in Denver now shopping at king soopers and blown away how expensive everything is. I understand it’s a different state and everything but it’s unreal how expensive it is.

      I went to Walmart yesterday, and even it is getting expensive. I bought some salad, vegetables and a few other non-fancy things and it was $100. I felt sick at checkout. BUt it is by far the best option. Maybe Aldi is also good but less selection

    One key thing I've realized to live this kind of life successfully is to surround yourself with people who are on a similar train of thought. The societal pressure can be so annoying at times. I can't tell you how many times I get asked when I'm going to upgrade my car. And by upgrade, they mean take out a 6-8 year loan for something new and shiny.

    Also, restaurants. It is so much cheaper and healthier to make something at home. And if you work somewhere, pack a lunch.

    My feet are my main means of transportation. I change my schoes every 1.500 kms (ca. 1.000 miles). I'm a heavy guy... if I don't change them in time everything starts hurting.
    Frugal doesn't mean cheap, it means being reasonable and also know where your priorities should be. There are INVESTMENTS where I never compromise: Shoes, mattresses (backpain suuuuucks), the one comfy chair for doing my reading,...
    Oh... and yes, f*ck the Joneses. The whole neighborhood frowned when they heard that we hadn't a car (or even two) in our garage. We don't need it. We take the 1.400 Euro every month... thank you very much.

    I see so many people with $700-1,000 car payment. Full coverage now is over 200$ with good record. I buy a $5k car every 3 years. That's about $138.89 a month to buy something thats realistic reliable.

    • @DamonCassidy
      @DamonCassidy  7 місяців тому

      Absolutely! I have found I enjoy the older cars more. Yes they’re missing some of the nice features but I found that there was real intention when they were built and dosnt have all the unnecessary distractions. All while saving thousands of dollars!

      I have two cars for 120 a month on geico, one full coverage on my more expensive 31k suv, one basic with roadside since it's a much older car, a 30 year old Camry wagon that I paid $2800 for in 2012. I've put about 70k miles on it since then. Bought it with 90k miles. Id suggest shopping around for car insurance. I did and found Geico still is the cheapest. I check a few insurance companies annually and still can't get a better deal due to my history with Geico and no tickets or accidents. Was curious about Amica and they wanted to double my payments after I plugged in the same coverage numbers.

    Okay Damon! Let’s start making new thumbnails!

    • @DamonCassidy
      @DamonCassidy  8 місяців тому +1

      Would like to ask you a couple questions on it if I may. I personally felt this one was different enough from my normal mug coffee cup style for it to be unique. In my opinion I feel my past 3 maybe 4 have been more unique.
      Do you feel it’s the same picture of me and my hands that is causing the staleness?
      Or is it the more compare contrast style of the thumbnail?
      I have found each time I did a more “real” life thumbnail it performs very bad for me which has caused me to lean a bit more this direction.
      This has been something I spend a lot of time thinking of and going back and forth on, would love to hear your thoughts. Thank you for reaching out!

      @@DamonCassidy I suppose it’s the same hands and face photo for me. I like the slight tweaking of the objects to correlate to the video. For me personally it makes me feel less engaged to the content because I know it’s repetitive. For new viewers it is eye catching so I can understand why you get better feedback.
      That’s a tough place to be for you I’m sure. For me a viewer it feels like every video will be the same content.

None of us really are, the world is gonna keep working and re-working you till you're 6ft under. You don't throw a half-finished canvas away, you finish it.
