I mean it's actually one of most important parts of the game developers and I'm pretty sure most people (me included) have a lot of misconceptions about this one. How the feedback procedure established, what skills are required to be a beta-tester, all that.
This is actually super useful and entertaining, this guy (I believe its Ben Boas speaking), I like the comedic twist to keep the information from being stale, clearly they had a lot of fun just putting this all together and editing it all in the end, while being informative throughout the whole thing! Even for someone like myself who is strictly a programmer, and partly a project manager, a lot of this is useful even for my own work - because even tho I dont art, I still work WITH artists, which is fun
I agree, and just wonder why people have this urge to start or finish their claims with "actually" like somebody was opposing them and they want to correct previously stated fact. Nobody is :D so maybe you think people will "actually" take you more seriously?? In 90% cases REALLY not the case :D its like: "this is actually nice video" or did YOU thought its going to be bad or what? :D

The advice section at the end was universal, not only for game designers. It's interesting that these people (who, in the game creation process, have to ask the almost philosphical question "What is _fun_?") gave this kind of advice. Love it, loved this whole series! Edit: I take that back, going back *everybody's* personal advice was universal. Dang, these videos were good.

i recently gotten interested in concept and game illustration, i love games and never thought to combine my love for art and games,mainly because of my confidence on my skills,but I been taking art more seriously now and learn the basics even tho I draw all my life and as I grew older self doubt cripples my confidence,I use to create so many character and world build in my own mind, I just have to get back to that, I would love to work for riot one day,but I am aiming to learn the basics and practice my skills,then apply for smaller companies and build my experience and things like that,baby step, thanks riot for making this videos,it helps a lot for people like me,I actually took out my notes and wrote everything down in one night to memorize and remember this.

Good series. I am a solo developer developing my own game and doing everything myself (except building game engine). It just feels like doing gardening in your backyard and one day your friend just say “wow, you have your own game?!”

I would take advice from You guys in almost every departament of a game, but not game desing, You guys made it pretty clear over the course of the years that you don't care about making a game fun while keeping it balanced. You guys keep introducing mechanics without fixing the existing ones, and don't work around power creep at all. Not to mention most of the nerfs and buffs are based of the pro scene rather than actual real numbers of win rates, ban rates, etc cof cof Riven and her terrible nerf cof cof, and finally but not least, items that are cost effective hurt the game, either make ad and ap items have very similar prices or make them ==. I'm looking at You, protobelt.
Be sure to learn as much as you can about other disciplines while you're there! Take advantage of the expertise around you and the fact you're paying them to learn!!! Many studios or teams are small enough they don't functionally have full time designers, so it's critical to pick up some extra skills so you're as useful and marketable as possible - being purely a designer makes it difficult to break into the industry as there are so many candidates applying and you can fall quite dependent on engineers and artists to implement your content.
Would've loved to see an episode about the splash art interviewing some of the prominent splash artists like Jessica Oyhenart, Zeronis, Kienan Lafferty and Jason Chan. There's so much to learn about how they do their work, like thumbnailing, composition, colour, portraying the character's personality and so on.
I wanted this series to continue forever.
