This helped so much! Just bought a tgb key west of Craigslist and was told compression was fine, turned out it wasn't :( however he sold me a 70cc bore kit with it! Your video helped a ton!

Just moved to larger storage unit today, still got 10lbs stuff in 5lb box, made the decision, if my junk don't sell, it's headed for the dump, this is a scooter unit, still need to store and rebuild 3 other scooters. Would it be necessary to upgrade the variator and clutch with the 70cc kit or can you get away with just a top end rebuild and a new pipe to support it?

How much clearance do you need for the piston head? So it doesn’t hit the plug.
The simplicity compared to a 4 stroke. Wrenching would be a breeze.

I would appreciate a video showing how to take the engine off the bike like you have done on the Genuine Buddy 50. What all has to be done to drop the engine/back wheel from the bike so it can be worked on up on a bench?

The black pistonring are supposed to be on the bottom on most cylinder kits

I have a 2002 Zuma. Do you recommend plugging of the oil pump (injection), get a 21mm carb and go pre-mix? Any recommends on the jetting for the 21mm, with 70cc Pollini?
I still run a oil pump on my typhoon with a 70cc polini sport kit but i do measure out a additional ounce for peace of mind for gas tank and for the 21mm carb i run 115 main messed with air fuel screw didn’t touch pilot jet my cylinder is ported fyi

BPR7HS is the stock one. HIX is the iridium one. He most likely using 9 instead of 7

Have you done compression test. If done can you tell me how much pressure required to get best ignition?
Technigas Silent pro rust like hell if it doesnt get a coat. it can even rust so much that you can get it of the cylinder without breaking the cylinder

The script on one side of the ring goes up it's usually the letter N stamped on one side of the ring ...well that faces up
ok hold on....I got the naraku minarelli 70cc kit and 70cc head and it came with the rubber head gasket AND a metal head gasket. I thought I was supposed to use both. Should it just be the rubber gasket?
g clips are a pain in the arss to get in lol

For scooter with fuel injector, change of cylinder kit is possible?
I replaced the gaskets on my 150cc and the inner gasket was leaking again at the bottom i took it apart and the gasket is properly seated what the heck happened and will it happen again? That inner case gasket was leaking on the top before when running the engine now the replacement gasket was leaking on the bottom.
What's the best way to set the squish band on Athena kit I've been messing around trying to get this squish right for a week with solder and calipers but keep getting uneven numbers I couldn't even get close with the factory head so I put a o-ring polini sport head on it i hear it needs to be at .9mm the Polini head fit good hope it works ok

Hi, I noticed on your rebuild video that you were working on a buddy. I recently put a 70 cc upgrade from the standard 50 cc. I left the stock carburetor and exhaust on it when I upgraded. When the motor is cold, it has very good compression and picks up speed nicely but once it is warmed up, I lose a lot of compression especially going up any type of incline. I noticed when I opened it up again that the piston was not hitting the top of the cylinder wall. Do you have any advice for me in this sense?

Stock genuine buddy is #75 main jet I recommend #80 or #85 for big bore kits in stock carbs with prima exhaust

Hey rolling wrench I'm looking to buy one good used one let me know if you got one
so I got a 2008 kymco super 8 50cc 2t... I bought a Naraku 70cc bore kit. it only came with the cylinder part with the exhaust port and the guy had to swap out the 10mm piston pin and piston with a 12mm piston pin and piston. it also came with gaskets and piston rings... I swapped it over and got the rings on and cylinder sleeve on and lubed it up and torqued down. I didn't get to upjet it yet cause improper thread size for the jet I bought to go with it.. and the exhaust won't fit due to the exhaust port is slighted so I have no exhaust on it. I crunk it up and let it warm up and then turned it off. I also got a aftermarket air intake too. it will crank and run but when I accelerate it hardly will move at all. can you tell me the areas I can work thru to get the issue fixed? please and thank you

So buddy 50s and kymcos have horizontal minerillis like a bugeye or the vertical like a prebug?
Horizontal. They are not the exact same engine as in a zuma. But very very similar

The flywheel has the white plastic fan attached, left side of the screen.

Its a polini kit, if your in usa try scooter swap shop or canada scootertuning

It does, He put the piston rings on in the wrong order, Black is always in the bottom

Yes, you are right. The chrome ring should always be on top of the piston. He didn't clean the top piece for the cylinder either, for some reason.

I advise you: remove the cap that obstructs the entry of air.

Ahhh, it breaths from the sides. It may have looked capped off, but it’s not. That’s the oem design

Your old plug is the same as the plug I'm running in my 96 jog.....interesting
