Here’s a link to my older but good video of how to install piston rings onto a Scooter engine, Direction etc.
• Piston ring installati...
It is super nicely told and shown how the sharp edges are removed, this is how we do in Denmark where I come from, and we actually do one more thing that you forgot. You made sure that the new cylinder did not get any small broken edges, etc., but you forgot to make it so that your piston rings fit better on the piston so that they do not wear unnecessarily on the cylinder during the cold starts to which it is exposed over time.
You must insert both piston rings into the cylinder, and if they reach completely together and touch each other's ends, then they should just be filed a small tiny part of both ends, it should be about 0.2 -0.3 mm spacing on piston rings when the sides loose in cylinders.
I hope you understand what I mean ... (-:
You are correct, I did this in a different video. Thanks for the reply
Thank you i was watching this video for this information and it wasnt there, thank you for the specs sir 🫡
6:20 guys for a love of god pls put a towel before you remove the little pin rings, if those things fall into the crankcase - GG
Is there any way to use the oil injection with this mod?
Hey just a question how would I calculate oil injection for the gas would I just put in more gas somehow?
This was one of the best instructional video’s I’ve seen. You’ve definitely gaven me the confidence to try this on my own.
Great vid thank you 👍 were you tempted to raise the exhaust port by a couple of mm?
At speeds over 45mph at the top end it can make BIG difference. Pedparts dyno’d a sport kit with raised exhaust port and at 57mph (it had a gear up kit) it made 8hp compared to 5hp of the stock 70 kit. Free power
I try to tell people to do this all the time they don't listen they just slap them in and go I did it to my polini sport kit on my Zuma but I used
files took took a little longer I was too nervous to stick my electric Dremel down there afraid of nicking the cylinder but the files got the job done I also do the skirt around the bottom of the piston I put a chamfer on it helps with oiling gets oil up to the wrist pin better if you look at your factory piston it has a chamfer around the bottom of the skirt
👍
"Girls think it's a beamer" lol nice
Checking/setting the ring gap is another key step that is overlooked here, often they're fine out of the box but why gamble
Yes you’re right
It's not a BMW!? Lol
You are 100% right about the filter. They will blow and if it doesn’t blow you gonna see lots of piston wear line streaks using those. I use the original air box filter on my scooter and pistons last. Even if you modify your scooter the air box can be retained
This is what you do not do to your cylinder unless you want to blow it up
I just bought a zuma from market place, and the guy didn't tell me how new the kit was, I asked the following day, he said maybe 10 miles, and he premixed it 40 to 1 ratio woth klotz synthetic oil, but when I rode it for those 30 to 45 mins I drove it like I stole it. It still runs great, but obviously I should take it easy but the gas is getting low ajd I am curious what ratio to mix the next tank at, it has maybe 15 miles on the new build?
Comparisment?
How could anyone give this video a dislike lol!
👍
My jaw dropped when you found the crack on the old cylinder skirt, that would most likely have gone catastrophical in any engine. You're really lucky on that one
When is the video coming? I need help peace
Which video?
Pod filter should be fine if your going uo to a big enough jet and tuning it my vino with 70 cc rips
never re-use the bearings, u may save money but if it blows up ur not gonna have a good time
Very good. What HP do you think it now makes with your install.
We call those filters brickcatchers in the Netherlands.
Lol
do i need to change my crankshaft and rod to put a big bore on my gilera runner 50cc?
depends what cc you go up to, if you’re going to 70cc don’t bother
Yes you did well , l didn't expect to learnt anything when l heard [ Hori zone al ] engine . But luckily l didn't act on my arrogance, gaining tips on casting flaws in the transfers in which you did way better . Stealing intellectual property from BMW , might protect against thieves with good taste , is that really an original factory colour and wheels ? Good luck with the females and don't get to frisky grinding transfers , the angles can be changed to suit various engine characteristics [powerbands'] by tuners . This knowledge i got from the, don't ask me how l know , bunch of disasters . Cheers dude.
Original wheels I painted the bike blue it was originally red, Cut a whole bunch of plastics to give it a custom look
that scooter looks a bit too much like a pgo hot 50
I have a 2002 eton beamer and am wondering what kind of gps MPH you are getting with that Polini Sport 70cc kit? I might pick one up?
75 km or so
Always use a new wrist pin bearing!
I did not put needle bearings in my naraku crank arm, it's a 139qmb but it came with a wrist pin which lanes no room for a needle bearing. Why is that tho?
The kits come with 2 size wristpin sizes 10mm or 12mm
Best BBK DIY tutorial on UA-cam!
Very good info. Simple and thorough.
What exhaust is that
Another great video. More please.
Thanks, more Corvette videos coming soon
You don’t used gasket sealer on the gaskets? I’ve got a Polini sport kit also that I haven’t installed yet on my prebug. Just wondering if you should use sealer or not?
Shouldn’t have to use any sealer, make sure you watch my Jetting Video you also have to change your jet.
@@ProblemSolverGarage thank you, I will.
Hey man really liked the video but um what is your exhaust
I’m not too sure I got it on eBay it looked cool
Great
With a 70cc big bore kit u use a Leovince TT? For me the TT exhaust ia not good for 70cc
Sorry not too sure
@@ProblemSolverGarage Not sure if the TT isn't a good exhaust for a 70cc?
can you give me junk yune pipe i need in my jog yamaha 90cc
?
Kolejna bardzo dobra robota !

Hey man, I have an interesting problem. I picked up this 2nd hand Yamaha Neos (minarelli horizontal block) and I drove it home not realizing the oil pump wasn't working so I wrecked it on the drive.
I rebuilt the engine but went from a 70cc back to a stock 50cc and now it doesn't want to start. It has the stock carb, fuel, spark and compression. Do you know what this could be?
Spray Quickstart into the carb see if it kicks.
Check your compression.
Try a different spark plug.
@@ProblemSolverGarage Yeah it seems to want to start when I spray some starter in the carb. It does not turn on fully though. The same happens when I stick in another spark plug.
I don't get it since when I kick it with nothing but gas + oil added in the spark plug is wet when I check it. Also, I do not have a compression tester so I cannot give exact numbers, but when I put my finger on the spark plug hole I cannot keep it there when I crank it.
Do you think it could be due to a larger jet from the 70cc or air/ fuel mixture screw?
@@thomatofpv3546 Did you ever manage to figure out the problem on your scooter that was preventing it from starting
@@Tain950 i haven't taken a deeper look at it, but I'm sure it's either a vacuum leak or the timing is wrong
I’d say it’s jetted for a 70 and fuel and air mixture are wrong
i bought a big bore kit for 20 dollars put it in no airbox still drives today after one year no problems with cilinder or piston
That’s awesome, they can last a year or two np. But if you do it the way I mentioned with the chamfering and put the proper fuel jet to get the right amount of fuel and oil it can literally last 20 years of every day driving.
Good luck my friend
:)
Yeah but why iš should do that it is litterally 20 bucks thats like a good meal
17:29 what if my piston does not have any holes?
Then there has to be an arrow on top of the piston, the arrow points to the exhaust side
What grit sandpaper did you use?
320 grit.
Also make sure you watch my Jetting new video to make your engine last.

Love those scooters.
Me too so much fun, thanks for watching
Thanks!!!
Np 😉
Thanks for this great Video . May I ask if this kit fits Yamaha BWS 50 engine too ?
What year is your Yamaha?
2016 bws YW50 F
@@amirmasnadi2340 Then no, this kit only works on Yamaha Zuma 50’s made from
2002 - 2011
It would be great if you can make a same video for 4 stroke versions , like 2016 YW50 F BWS
Well if I’m ever working on one I will
How do you set oil pump up to run the 70 kit
You don’t set it up you mix extra oil in with your gas
Not to be a hater or anything but the scooter looks a little corny. I think most scooters look corny in general. The really old school mopeds that look like motorcycles are pretty cool
hahahaha we all know they look dumb but the whole time we’re riding then we are smiling cause how fun and funny they are especially when there fast as shit and do wheelies lol
