I have a 1976 CB 750 Honda I bought new it still runs great and I have all the original parts, not all on the bike at this time. I paid $1995.00 out the door in 1976.
Man, great job. That bike is really original, even down to the pipes and grips. Yea, I’m familiar with it, as a prior owner. Now back to running really good, what a survivor, blast from the past. To think it is approaching 50 years old is really a tribute to the Japanese technology of the day.
Just bought one of these off the interwebs for cheap...dude said it didn't run, needed "carb work", and he wasn't interested in figuring it out so wanted it gone. Even said he was a "mechanic" but didn't have time or interest in a project bike....so I trailered it home, drained the old gas, put fresh non-oxy in and it fired right up. I'm thinking the carbs could probably use a clean and rebuild soonish, but it sounds pretty healthy for needing "carb work"....
Wow! That is exactly the same bike that my father owned until he passed, I drove it once in a while and it was a sweet ride. This video really brings back memories!
i had a 450 four with extended forks for my first street bike. it was a lot of fun, but had the stock rake, so it was like riding uphill all of the time. i've had a few bikes with extended front ends. the longest was a '69 triumph chopper, with a chrome hardtail, and a 6' springer front end. i loved that bike, but i needed cash for a quick getaway, and sold it. i should'a kept it and dealt with my issues, 'cause they caught up with me three years later anyway, but i was young, dumb, and full of....
Awesome video! I had a 72 model just like this one, same color and everything that I paid $1500 for brand new. That was a real badass bike back in the day!! Thanks for the video!
This was my first bike back in Japan. Loved it so many memories of running wild thru Tokyo on it 😂 Wish I had one over here in Scotland. Currently on Harley FXDB Street Bob but changing soon to a Yamaha XV1900 - cant wait!
I would open the jets up one size as well, because Honda is known for sending stock bike to United Stated running lean; as well as making them run better with opened up jets, when they get a little more fuel. That is what I like to do as well, bring old bikes back to life and back onto the road. Put them to use as they were intended. Plus I usually make a profit doing so. Still need to sync the carbs, I used to have one just like it when I was a young man.
I didn't hear you say it, but I believe this is a K2 model as it is identical to my 1972 CB750K2 I owned back when. Mine was a Japan sourced model not built for US spec export. It had all Japanese writing and Kilometer speedo. Bought it new from a US merchant marine off a freighter at the Port of Houston shipyard when I was 18 years old and just out of high school. Got a good deal on it compared to prices in Houston at the time.
Taylor I have the exact same bike, same color and all, but mine is actually fabricated on 10/72, so I guess more of a 73, but still cool to see that it is fabricated in 72, I can honestly say that I will probably never sell this bike, like you Taylor I want to hoard a couple more of these 750's, needless to say I absolutely love my bike and that candy gold color... I freaking love it, even more so than the candy olive green color, but that color would probably be next on my list of favs, and again Taylor thank you for making a video of a different bike instead of a 550... And Happy Thanksgiving Taylor, hope you and the family have a great one.
Good video those time lapse's of the carb reassemble & master cylinder rebuild you should put them in a handy folder for promoting those parts of your business.
Where about in Texas? I have a 75 CB540F that i have done a lot to. I'm in the San Antonio area. Had a lot of carb issues but got most of it taken care of. Just don't see a lot of other people with these bikes in my area.
Awesome vid. I appreciate the how-to vids but also enjoy the vids that are an overview. I own an 81Honda CB 750 Custom that needs life put back into it. I took the air-box out a year ago swapped out the starter. Hopefully I can get back on 2 wheels soon. God Bless ya happy Thanksgiving
Great knowledge and experience of the ol 750/4. Im going nuts trying to get #2 spark plug out . Please tell me theres a specific trick to getting it out. I feel like a idiot unable to get it out . A k5 is whats twisting my brain . ????
I have 81 cb650c that won't go past 5500rpm in gear, seems like coils breaking down. I've replaced plugs, caps, wires, coils, fuel lines and filter, air filter, rebuilt carbs completely, stator/rotor/regulator. Any idea what could be causing this?
Were the carbs a bitch to get back on? I struggled a lot getting my 750 carbs back on the bike. Also, when you vapor blast the carbs do you put some kind of coating on the metal when you’re done? I’m tempted to send you my carbs to do. Make them look pretty.
I'm hoping to find one like this to ride in my old age, I wanted one when they were new, prices in the UK vary from £1000 up to £42,000, I'm after a run and ride towards the lower figure, then I'll have some video searching or requests for you perhaps :) :)
freakin' rebuild kits. I'd just say never buy a rebuild kit off ebay. just go to a website that sells OEM jets and get the jets you need. They'd also sell the gaskets too. I rebuilt a set of mikuni bst33's and the rebuild kit i got off ebay was ABSOLUTELY terrible quality i ended up using most of the OEM jets that were in the carb. I do plan to rejet, and when I do, i'm going to order directly from Mikuni. tl,dr: don't buy jet kits off ebay they're made of crappy chinese brass.
Love that you're watching Ted talks while rebuilding carbs. Awesome

It's nice to see the old classical bikes coming back at least they where made of metal not plastic.
Plastic side covers

They don't have to all be "How To" videos, sometimes it's nice just to watch the project unfold, good episode Taylor
interesting video up in the screen

@handyhippy65...i did not know that there ever was "a 450 four'...you mean that 350 four Honda had? They had a 400 four also. Thanks.
Awesome video! I had a 72 model just like this one, same color and everything that I paid $1500 for brand new. That was a real badass bike back in the day!! Thanks for the video!
That brake fill tip was great. Thanks for that. Always learning something here.
Great tip on bleeding the caliper , will definitely give that a go..
This was my first bike back in Japan.

Wish I had one over here in Scotland.

That's a beautiful CB750. I liked how you have TED Talks on in the background when you were reassembling the carbs.
It is awesome to see what you have been working on. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone watching UA-cam!

Sweet bike! I have exactly the same bike. Same colour and year. Love it
Serious bucks for one of those with the 4 : 4 pipes in that condition in the UK. Serious bucks.
keep up the great work!

Awesome vid. I appreciate the how-to vids but also enjoy the vids that are an overview.

Top job
Service and maintenance video..
Can someone explain why/how leaving the lever pressed overnight bleeds the brake system?
All the 'air bubbles' rise to the top of the master cylinder.
@@joewood7225 thanks
Happy Thanksgiving Taylor. Would love to see some more of the truck in a vid.
What part of the country are you in Taylor?

Hey what Ted talk were you watching?

Yes, from what I've seen he does a little bit of everything. Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Triumph..

I'm hoping to find one like this to ride in my old age, I wanted one when they were new, prices in the UK vary from £1000 up to £42,000, I'm after a run and ride towards the lower figure, then I'll have some video searching or requests for you perhaps :) :)

Bro, what the hell are you watching on UA-cam at 4:41 while working on the carbs? Everything OK on the home front? The title of that video is whack.
You watched “no sex marriage, masturbating, and loneliness“ , gotta hit up Dr Phil about that I guess
Not enjoying the channel anymore.
