This is a great video, it's actually easy to forget quite how much he's done when you've grown up with him. It'll be heart-wrenching when he finally retires.
Best centre in the world. Best World player over the last ten years. First name on the world XV teamsheet for the last 10 years. Legend. Great compilation. In BOD we trust.
i can't believe having just read that jacques fourie would outclass bod... o'driscoll is just dynamite in absolutely every part of the game... and thanks for the rare footage
Without question the best 13 the world has ever seen...i seen umaga alot of times..brilliant player but BOD is just out of this world...every attribute a rugby player could want..the man is blessed and im thoroughly proud that he is irish
This is a great video and the best bit is that BOD's best attribute isnt even shown - that is the amount of turnovers he forces - he is the best defensive back in the world and up there in the top 3 for attacking midfielder
The Earliest Rugby match i can remember is Him against France in 2000, In my eyes he will always be the greatest Player in History. Please BOD bring us a Heniken Cup and Lions Tour, that would make my year.
When you sum things up, Brian has achieved more than most players have, he's one of the only players in the world that for years has consecutivley appeared on the world rugby dream team. He's the only player that can play anywhere on the pitch and still make a huge difference to the team. He will be missed when he decides to hang his boots up.
Crafty bastard, His skill above all is the reason hes renowned as the world's best centre over the last decade That hat-trick in 2000 against France in Paris, 6 weeks after the same French team outclassed NZ who's centres could do nothing in the World Cup semi-final, pretty much showed O'Driscoll's superiority over the rest His stunning try in 2001 from the half way line for the Lions against the best team of the professional era..the watertight Australia defense, confirmed his greatness
how can you put a career like Brian O'Driscoll's into highlights? You just can't, no highlight video will do the great man justice. As a rugby lover since i was 6, I'd kill to be half as good as him. WE LOVE YOU BRIAAANN,
The Lions 2001 ty is still the best individual effort I have ever seen. That wasn't even a gap, and he still chose to hit it and bust through two tackles. W-T-F Man sees things nobody else does.
Undisputed. A great player of the Modern era! I don't know why people have to be petty and try the wind up. Anyway it wouldnt work on me cos everytime people start saying "hes finished" or "not as good as he used to be" BOD comes back with a spark of real invention or class! Has to go down as one of the all time greats but being from the Northern Hemisphere wont help his case. Anyway cheers to you brian for helping me get into the great game that is rugby.
7:05 I think this moment sums up Brian O'Driscoll. Like a magician putting a spell on the other player before before performing a seemingly impossible dodge of a tackle.
His try against the Aussies when still a kid was amazing. Along with Tim Horan my favourite centre of the past 20 years. What a fuckin partnership that would have been!
O'Driscoll is the greatest outside centre of the modern Era, it's been confirmed on nearly every dream test team on all rugby sites, papers north and south. It was even mentioned on the ALL Blacks site last week. He even scored a try last week when we were down to 14 men. Sadly though age seems to be catching up with him and he doesn't have the pace he once had. In his prime though guys like Fourie and Smith aren't even in the same league, the only player that was close to him was Umaga.
He's a titan....I always support Ireland if England aren't playing (like all the other England fans I know). O'Driscoll is the greatest sportsman in the world.... Lions and Ireland.
One of only 8 centres in the World Top 30 for most tries in Rugby union tests. He's also the only Irishman on the list. Combined with his kicking, defensive and off-loading abilities I would say he is undisputedly the best Irish player to date with stats and results to prove the point.
O'Driscoll has earnt the tag as greatest centre of the past decade.. his genius the reason. No disrespect to Ireland.. but put O'Driscoll in a team with a monster pack (SA, or NZ) that supplies plenty ball to the backs... its frightening to think of the increase in damage O'Driscoll would do I think around 2001 (before he bulked up) was when he was untouchable. With the Lions, the amount of times he ripped open world champions Australia (best team of the professional era) was stunning
5:31 - that was 2 on 5 and BOD still managed to win! then the finish was utter perfection. everyone can take something away from his playing to improve theirs, even a prop.
O Driscolls try against Munster in their most recent encounter, its not in this video because its so recent but it should be up somewhere. He has two men to beat, and those two men were Jean De Villiers, world champion, and Keith Earls, Brians replacement in Lions tour. So that says enough. Beats top southern and northern hemisphere players in two steps, pure class.
he may not be the strongest or fastest player in the world but his ability, timing and his judgement does in fact make him the best rugby player who ever walked the earth
good shit here, bod definatly WAS the best centre in the world. getting older hasnt helped his game though. definatly the most all rounded centre of his time, he could do it all. pity he came from ireland and couldnt win a world cup
It's corny but those Creed Lyrics really suit this vid "....I'm careless, I Believe...", one of the best things about O'Driscoll is the effect he has on the players around him. Just look how the Lions collapsed in the second test when he got injured.
My GOD but he was good, the only other player tribute I've seen on here that equals O'Driscoll's feats is the one about Christian Cullen. Legends of the game.
ireland for the world cup win against england 80th min corner try from dricko, the country goes mad and lomu presents him with the trophie and says "u are god brian".
Brian O'Driscoll - Rugby World player of the decade (2000-2009) Theres before O'Driscoll, and theres after O'Drisoll He could rip open a tin can with a drop of the shoulder. He could dodge his way through an F1 starting grid. He tore the Frogs a brand new "A" hole with a hat trick in Paris, 6 weeks after the same French team outclassed NZ backs in 1999 WC semi Former England centre Stuart Barnes quote on O'Driscoll.. .."They call him God, well i reckon hes a better player than that"
I have no idea who umanga is, apart from he played for NZ in 1999 WC semi-final when they got massacred as the French backs outclassed the NZ backs with their superior flair and ran riot. However there wasn't anything those same French backs could do a few weeks later against O'Driscoll when he scored a hat-trick in Paris. NZ simply didnt have an O'Driscoll in their team, his smarts, creativity or intelligence. From that day in 2000, O'Driscoll became renowned as the worlds best centre
Mcaw & Carter are the best forward & back in the world, they're only about half way through their careers. Mcaw will end up being named as the best player ever, he's already won best player twice (a record), & hes got a long way to go b4 retirement, injury permitting. O'Driscol has never beaten the AB's, nor have the Irish.
@taweraster Also congrats on the win, but we were down to 14 men for 60 mins of the game and 13 men for 10 mins(Which was entirely our fault and we deserved it). Now I'm not saying we would have won if we kept pur 15 for the match but the game was over as a contest once the red was shown, as anybody who's ever played rugby knew it would be.
people who say that Umaga was better without the ball then BOD is chatting absolute rubbish. even when BOD isn't having a storming attacking match he is always tackling and turning the ball over, he's as good as any top class flanker at the breakdown.
Nope, O'Driscoll always gets the better of his opposite number no matter the Hemisphere. In the past the Arrogant SH press would always harp on about Umaga or Mortlock having an off day or some bull like that but I'm glad to see these days he's recognised as the best Centre of the Pro era in both Hemispheres. In fairness to AUS and SA they've always admitted it but it took NZ a while to come round. I even heard Taine Randell mention he is the best of his Generation.
I'm from Germany, and O'Driscoll is one of the greatest players to have ever played the game, and my team also sucks (worse then yours lol) so i'm right there with ya!
While I do think you are speaking from upir own conviction kiwijoker, I also think that that incident cast a very long shadow on both Mealamu and Umaga. A shadow they will never really escape because regardless of how good they really are or were, their actions in that reckless moment were appalling. You can use any words you like to describe it but it won't change what happened. Me... I believe the AB's lost something very special that day: The rugby worlds respect.
@IIiAJiII that's the maddest thing I've heard - I've done 2 World Cups and ALL my fellow English fans have Ireland as their second team (and always have). I go there on holiday a lot - love the place, friendly as you like. Dublin is a riot and 95% of Irish rugby fans are the best sporting fans in teh world (take a note Wales!). I've played rugby in Ireland where they are enormously hospitable and generally pretty clean players (take a note NZ and SA!!!). Footbal may be different I hate football.
Oh right, just repeat exactly what I said except switch NH for SH. Good stuff. You've clearly an independent mind. I've noticed no need to denigrate SH players up here- it'd be stupid & childish.
it seems you don't read the comments you're replying to. Times are changing is referring to Irelands improvement in Rugby. The AB's while ranked #1 are not the only side to beat. Don't you think the last 10yrs have been different for Irish Rugby? We've beaten England more times this decade than ever, won numerous triple crowns and the first G.Slam worth talking about. The first was post WWII so England and France were a little worse for wear.
Since his hat trick in 2000 in Paris (Irelands 1st win in France since 1972) O'Driscoll has single-handedly transformed team Triple crown 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009 (none since 1985) Six nations championship 2009 (none since 1985) Grand slam 2009 (none since 1948) Beat South Africa 2004 (1st since 1965) Beat Australia 2002 (1st since 1979) Ex England Captain & centre Will Carling ranks him 10th greatest player of all time.."Ireland are half the side without him" When genius retires???
@like2surf True, but we'd already put 10 points on you in the first 10 minutes so we were always going to win, but you're right, once Heaslip was gone and you were down to 7 men in the Scrum the result was always going to be a huge win, nice fightback in the second half though.
@chubb123 That's probably because Ireland, even with Bod and Rog have totally failed to make an impact on the world stage, ie World Cup, and at the end of the day it's a team game. (But the same could be said of Dan Carter)
Well luckily the majority of the Rugby world disagrees with you. Like it or not when O'Driscoll retires he will be viewed as the best centre of the pro era. He's the highest scoring centre of all time and should have been IRB player of the year this year, I wouldn't have minded if Du Preez got it but McCaw didn't deserve it this year.
Brian O'Driscoll is the best Irish rugby player...EVER. He is a true legend I look up to him so much :) Great vid (:
This is a great video, it's actually easy to forget quite how much he's done when you've grown up with him. It'll be heart-wrenching when he finally retires.
Best centre in the world.
Best World player over the last ten years.
First name on the world XV teamsheet for the last 10 years.
Legend.
Great compilation.
In BOD we trust.
i can't believe having just read that jacques fourie would outclass bod... o'driscoll is just dynamite in absolutely every part of the game... and thanks for the rare footage
the best centre I've ever seen play the game and would go down in history as one of the greatest centre's to play the game.
Nice compilation, good to see not only tries but also tackles and assists to tries. Well done!
Without question the best 13 the world has ever seen...i seen umaga alot of times..brilliant player but BOD is just out of this world...every attribute a rugby player could want..the man is blessed and im thoroughly proud that he is irish
what a fantastic video!!! You have to watch each try again and again becoz each is special in its own way!!
This is a great video and the best bit is that BOD's best attribute isnt even shown - that is the amount of turnovers he forces - he is the best defensive back in the world and up there in the top 3 for attacking midfielder
Would love to see a video of all his best tackles, turnovers and defensive work which is awesome. Great video and absolute legend.
The Earliest Rugby match i can remember is Him against France in 2000, In my eyes he will always be the greatest Player in History.
Please BOD bring us a Heniken Cup and Lions Tour, that would make my year.

He will be missed when he decides to hang his boots up.
He has 107 caps for Ireland and 106 of them have been starts. That shows how amazing he is.
Brilliant tribute, so much fun, thank you!!!!!
Crafty bastard, His skill above all is the reason hes renowned as the world's best centre over the last decade
That hat-trick in 2000 against France in Paris, 6 weeks after the same French team outclassed NZ who's centres could do nothing in the World Cup semi-final, pretty much showed O'Driscoll's superiority over the rest
His stunning try in 2001 from the half way line for the Lions against the best team of the professional era..the watertight Australia defense, confirmed his greatness
best centre in rugby history. running, tackling, passing, kicking
The guy can do it all
living proof that form is temporary but class is eternal, and this man sure is world class
Great tribute to an awesome player!
how can you put a career like Brian O'Driscoll's into highlights? You just can't, no highlight video will do the great man justice.
As a rugby lover since i was 6, I'd kill to be half as good as him.
WE LOVE YOU BRIAAANN,
I wish more people here in America realised what a fgreat sport this is. Im from Buffalo and love it. Ireland and Brian O'Driscoll are the best!
great video of the greatest player in Ireland's history
My Irish sporting hero. A prefect pro,and a gent.
Brian is just a God.
He has inspired a nation and that's what I call a leader.
Lets hope he leads Ireland to a World cup win
The Lions 2001 ty is still the best individual effort I have ever seen. That wasn't even a gap, and he still chose to hit it and bust through two tackles.
W-T-F
Man sees things nobody else does.
Undisputed. A great player of the Modern era! I don't know why people have to be petty and try the wind up. the try at 4:19 is just unreal. one of the very greatest athletes every to have come out of Ireland..
7:05 I think this moment sums up Brian O'Driscoll. Like a magician putting a spell on the other player before before performing a seemingly impossible dodge of a tackle.
right now hes better then ever back to bein the best
Living legend - we are so lucky !!
His try against the Aussies when still a kid was amazing. Along with Tim Horan my favourite centre of the past 20 years. What a fuckin partnership that would have been!
By far the Best 13 of all time, no one else comes close.

Brian O'Driscoll makes me happy!
He's a genious! He doesn't need to see the try line, he can feel where it is...
He's a titan....I always support Ireland if England aren't playing (like all the other England fans I know). O'Driscoll is the greatest sportsman in the world.... Lions and Ireland.

Yeah great collection - class player. Thanks!
this is awesomeeeeee. best player ever
one of the better 8 minutes i've spent on youtube.......
He's got to be the best centre of all time....
the best of the best....

Most test tries by a non wing or fullback.
Outstanding player.
ireland for the world cup win against england 80th min corner try from dricko, the country goes mad and lomu presents him with the trophie and says "u are god brian".

he won won world player of the decade!!
great vid
Ever team as great player and he one for the best
the single greatest no13 to ever wear the shirt
An over-used word is legend....but he is one.
Best Centre to ever wear a RUGBY jersey.
Anyway, no hard feelings, all the best and enjoy the games
the try on 1:55 I think is up there with his best including the Lions try in 2001
the best all round player in world rugby, without fail. It's a joke that he hasn't won World Player once
I have no idea who umanga is, apart from he played for NZ in 1999 WC semi-final when they got massacred as the French backs outclassed the NZ backs with their superior flair and ran riot.

very gud vid bt cud of had more of his gr8 defence clips aswell
people who say that Umaga was better without the ball then BOD is chatting absolute rubbish. even when BOD isn't having a storming attacking match he is always tackling and turning the ball over, he's as good as any top class flanker at the breakdown.
come on brian you can do it again
Amazing compilation, shame about the quality.
Everyone calls him BOD. I think we should start calling him GOD :P
Brian O'Driscoll= My hero
What was the original 2nd song? I remember it being something different.
Song:Completely random
mcaw can have player of the year, but drico has player of the decade
Nope, O'Driscoll always gets the better of his opposite number no matter the Hemisphere. yeah even the guys who were in charge of it admitted the slecetion system was flawed
A Springbok B-Team what game were you watching mate? They were missing Spies, F Steyn and Botha and that's it.
It was the Leinster away Jersey.
I'm from Germany, and O'Driscoll is one of the greatest players to have ever played the game, and my team also sucks (worse then yours lol) so i'm right there with ya!
Irelands greatest Rugby Player ever!!!
u mean the Umaga that spear tackled him.. ..??? yeah real sound..!! brians an amazing player..!!
teh second clip is shane horgan
I wonder if a 4th Lions tour is possible. My money is on it.
While I do think you are speaking from upir own conviction kiwijoker, I also think that that incident cast a very long shadow on both Mealamu and Umaga. He's ok, but there's no way that he's the best. He's been consistant, I'll give him that.

@lennonater73 O'Driscoll done a lovely flip pass to im thats why its in the highlights.
Since his hat trick in 2000 in Paris (Irelands 1st win in France since 1972) O'Driscoll has single-handedly transformed team
Triple crown 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009 (none since 1985)
Six nations championship 2009 (none since 1985)
Grand slam 2009 (none since 1948)
Beat South Africa 2004 (1st since 1965)
Beat Australia 2002 (1st since 1979)
Ex England Captain & centre Will Carling ranks him 10th greatest player of all time.."Ireland are half the side without him"
When genius retires???
@fooledyoass it's actually SnowPatrol...
@like2surf True, but we'd already put 10 points on you in the first 10 minutes so we were always going to win, but you're right, once Heaslip was gone and you were down to 7 men in the Scrum the result was always going to be a huge win, nice fightback in the second half though.
