One of the best days of Rugby was during the 6 nations when three teams had to beat their opponents by a large margin as no one could get the grand slam! Wales had to beat Italy, Ireland then had to beat Scotland and finally England had to beat France. All three tams went out on the attack and won each game by a huge margin but Ireland won the tournament by a points margin and I think it was BODs last match! What a day as an Englishman in an Irish pub! I loved that day. The atmosphere was unreal! Pity England didn’t win but I was equally delighted for Ireland and especially the legend BOD!

As crazy as that sounds. Not sure if that makes any sense? His initial reaction to the anorak who told him to move was probably a bit spicy and knee jerk but then when Neil Back said "can't move now" you know from that point on there was no going back. Putting nationality aside, as a rugby fan i absolutely love that, its one of the great rugby stories. Who wouldn't have had Johnson in their side? Absolutely legend. Love it.

MJ does come across as a gentleman: he gives "his side of the story" but as a player he had a very, very dirty, nasty side to his play that cast a shadow over his achievements. For example, on one occasion he was cited for kneeing an opponent in the spine around about 2000 (maybe 2001;) a dangerous "tackle" that could have put the guy in a wheelchair for life. He also appeared to stamp on Scottish player John Leslie's throat in 1999, so he was by no means a "gentleman" on the field. Regarding the interview content, if indeed he was asked to sign a shirt before the game that was unreasonable, but even so, I'm not convinced by his explanation for disrespecting the Irish President. He was the team captain, he was aware of protocol, and, as I understand, rugby "gentlemen" are supposed to be "in control of themselves," unlike their football counterparts (who can scream and shout at the referee as much as they want...) Interestingly enough, he does not, even with hindsight, apologize for any misunderstanding or insult cause, and it's too bad that the MC does not even bring that up. I wonder: were the opposite to occur (Irish players forcing Queen Elizabeth to walk on the Twickenham grass) how would the English media react???

Not turned up late like some jobsworth and said move. It's not known as manners and respect but rather tha ability to organise a major sporting event.
