we all know working as cabin crew at SIA can be quite mentally challenging (toxic). For all the great compliments on the airline, senior cabin crews can really be very unkind to their juniors and sometimes I see them suffering or just putting up a great service front to get by the flight. Not sure why people don't talk about it, cos is so obvious even from passenger's pov.
@@Arifumiiry to speak to stewardess who’re already in the airline to have an understanding of the culture first. It’s not all glam and glory like what you see. For SIA, your mental resilience needs to be top-notched

Their hiring process is crazy. They have certain standards to meet. Height is obviously a big one , you have to be slim , there’s a certain look they want. I’m super short. Hahah so that one’s out for me
Ex SIA crew should start speaking about this toxic culture once they leave the company. As an awareness to others and probably serves a lesson as well
Yes agree w u..i was an ex cabin crew..w SQ...left after 15yrs...i did go thru my fair share of unkind seniors..zapping u...but guess its part n puzzle of crew life...u will b junior n thn senior n my advice to all senior1..b kind...Happy Flying...❤🎉😊
Dunno why but actually felt a bit choked with tears towards the end seeing your photos on SQ . Without a doubt , our SQ air stewardess play a big role in making Singapore 's flag fly high in the aviation industry. So thank you for keeping our reputation and serving the country.
And then you fly Delta and you get a flamboyant skinny guy named Bruce with an attitude, a 78 year old flight attendant Bernice that wishes she had planned better for retirement so she wouldn't still have to work, and Shaniqua with 8 inch long nails that just hides behind the curtain ignoring everyone, lol!
I definitely can relate to this... I too was feeling this way about my job just few months ago... I find it hard to wake up almost every morning, had to drag myself up to go to work... And during the weekends i just want to stay at home or when i go out i prefer to go out alone.. i have come to realize that sometimes our body gives us clues and we need to listen to it... Our body stores our emotions and when it is not dealt with properly, it will manifest as burnout, no motivation, fatigue, etc.. No amount of money or material gains can replace our mental and physical health... Your future self will thank you for the decision that you have made at this moment to choose yourself ❤
Singapore Airlines cabin crew are always the best. Just got back from a flight on SQ from CPH, all the crew are so amazing. Usually if I watch crew last flight as a flight attendant, end up feeling a bit sad, they are going to leave one of the best jobs in the world and also the fact that's the last flight. But your video and the music is lively, making the whole video on a different level. All the best in your future undertakings and endeavour.

Chanced upon your video and really appreciate your generous sharing on the life of a highly acclaimed SQ girl. Didn’t see the other perspective of an air stewardess and always thought that they must be having a great time flying around the world until I watched your video. Very enlightening indeed. SIA is what it is today largely because of you, the air crew onboard which makes every passenger flying experience a pleasant one. Thank you for that. Whatever reason it may be, I wish you well in your future endeavours😊 stay strong and positive in all circumstances!
You made the right move, when you are facing burnout and dread going to work and to the extent of weeping silently in your room, it's time to quit and move on for the sake of your mental and physical health. No matter how well the job pays or good the perks are, it is really not worth it. I also quit one of my ex-jobs just 6 months after joining as I too, suffered burnout. My physical and mental health took a beating during those 6 months and I aged so much too.

Different industry but I used to cry before I go to work and my mum told me it was unhealthy and made me quit it. I'm thankful for her. And also all the best to whatever's coming up for you in life! Thank you for service. In life we know there are times we need to move on to other things. Health is THE most important thing cos on can never buy good health. There are abundance of opportunities out there. It also about counting our blessings, being grateful and allow us to try out other things in life. I did that I I gain more much and a much better person. Many of my ex co-workers did not and hang on to whatever they were doing though it no longer meaningful to them and in the end they are so so miserable now and of course it effects their mental health so it not worth it.

It’s like that even in the schools. Many students have committed suicide due to the stress , even doing the PSLE was a nightmare 😢
I was an ex-mariner in a merchant ship. When the ship passed by Singapore I will looked at the shore line and think of my loved one ashore.
Those days Handphone doesn't exist yet and no way to contact them. Feel so sad, seem so near but yet so far. I think both of us are
home sick at times. Anyway we are now ashore with our love one and be a passenger when going on holidays. Its no use working when you are

Hey thank you so much! Haha will do! Most of the time we try to do gel mani & pedi so we don't have to repaint them and instead just get it done every month! However there are still some crew that prefers to paint so yes, they'll carry a nail kit with them! :)

At 9.08 minute, Germaine says she teared up often taking a taxi to Changi Airport to report for work 😢 I know Soooo Many who tear up often hoping/wishing to be in her place, but are uable to! So, we really do NOT know what it is to be a SIA crew until you are really in the job. Everything always looks great from the 'other side'

I bet you’ll enjoy not having to do your hair/makeup routine every day. How long did you work for SQ? And what is the average employment length for an SQ FA?
May you share what are the things that makes you quit SIA? I heard and know mainly good things. Like traveling to other countries for free, buying many things back like expensive bags and all etc and do not seems that stressful.
I had dreamt of working in SIA but tough luck and hence now in the HR industry. HAHA
Sometimes it a blessing in disguise, I used to think why me.. and if only.... but now that I am so much older and more experience in life, I glad it did not happen how I wanted to happen. I learnt to count my blessings and be grateful.
