Weight loss. I didn't correlate that to cancer, but when I went for a routine appointment with my pulmonary specialist and he saw I lost 50 lbs, he knew immediately. Didn't say anything but scheduled me within a couple of days to do my annual lung cancer screening CT scan. He called the day after I had it. He never called me. My heart sunk because I knew my scan must have shown something. The last three words you want to hear are "you have cancer." Thank God he caught my lung cancer in stage 1. My only treatment option was SBRT radiation therapy. 2 weeks. 4 sessions. High dose radiation hitting the nodules from multiple directions but so precise it has no side effects nor damages the healthy tissue around the nodule. It also allows them to repeat if needed after two years. Regular radiation is a one-time deal because it damages everything around a mass. I am 5 plus years out now since I had the treatment, and so far, cancer free.

They new neuro just found ( thro a simple blood test) then my body is unable to absorb B 6 thru 12, folic acid, many amino acids and many other things that can’t be fixed with otc vitamins. only one place makes them, which means they’re expensive and of course insurance won’t pay. I’ve lost quite a bit of weight, zero appetite, and exhaustion levels that are insane. It also makes nerve pain worse, which is NOT, what a person with nerve damage really needs. It can also be permanent if I’ve had it too long. I’ve been seeing neuro for 16 years. Actually a PA to a neurologist ordered it. (First female in this field I’ve seen).

We are going to look back on these times like they were the dark ages. She went to her doctor when they could have caught it earlier. Life is so unfair even for people being conscientious
They take such a long time to catch things these days. It's always some late stage by the time they pay attention to your symptoms. I'm sitting here with some kind of arrhythmia and so many other symptoms with my liver and GI, some weird lab results, and my doctors just aren't connecting the dots. I'm in a perpetual state of "wait and see" while things are getting worse. It took years before they even noticed the arrhythmia, my heart rate was in the 40s and they said it was fine, but it wasn't actually in the 40s, I had ventricular bigeminy and Long QT Syndrome. It took a Torsades de Pointes episode for them to even start listening to me about my symptoms, and even now I just have "something electrical" wrong that they can't figure out. I finally had a heart attack 3 weeks ago, they don't know the cause, they just know my troponin was very elevated. I'm pretty sure I'm going to die before I ever get diagnosed properly so I can be treated somehow.
