His lyrics aren't popular with right-wingers. If he wanted to be more popular, he'd have to be more inclusive, but that's not his style. In my mind, sticking to his principles was the right move. Who wants crappy fans?
I was trying to develop a following on FB with my amateur wildlife videos (getting better, but still amateur). I filmed a rattlesnake on 11/12/2020, which is crazy late in the year for where I live. I urged people to obey leash laws to protect their dogs. You'd have thought I had urged them to wear masks to protect their loved ones or something crazy like that.
A good-sized contingent of people completely lost their minds and I believe I probably lost my small viewership because of it. Now I must decide what to do and how to feel about that. The people where I live have always been extremely right-wing, but I thought if I stayed away from politics and religion, they might respect me. I guess not. Everything is partisan now. You can't have any opinions at all and stay friends with Trump supporters, no matter how hard you try.

I was in tears with laughter. I found this performer on a Twitter link under an Elon musk post. I've never seen anything like this. It's ashame how hard it is to locate new artists like this. It reminds me of Phil ochs (I think that was his name). As a singer and guitarist myself I really applaud this guy. Being a musician Led me to liberalism (and I liked a lot of country acoustic) but I never really know how to put my politics into song. This dude is nailing it in song after song. So glad he's stil commenting on trump era stuff
ZenfireTheWizard He's great isn't he? I just found him a few weeks ago and not only are the lyrics always very clever, but his performance really sells it. The Parody Project with Don Caron is also really good. Randy Rainbow is funny and there's a group called The Founders that's not bad either. But Roy is really doing a great job, enjoy!

This man and his wife (!) are brilliant. They co write the songs and lyrics. We had a house concert at which he performed and thankfully, he didn't bring the house down....because it was full of people. But, he is a consummate entertainer. He skewers both left and right, but mostly right because they're mostly wrong.

Damn dude. You're no Freddie Mercury, but THAT was some impressive vocal work. I learned Creation Science 101 when my fingering got good enough for a slightly higher challenge and ended up righting even more intricate stuff. I think I make have to learn to sing this so I can exercise those muscles more. I mean, I know you're trying to make us better people. But you also seem to be trying to make people like me better musicians.

I became a huge fan of Roy after seeing him in person and in the doc film "Fired" with a very topical song about losing ones job ( which I wish Roy would post on UA-cam) , but if I had seen this great song first, I am sure I would still enjoy Roy as one of my fondest guilty ( or not) pleasures.

It does. I am a classically-trained vocalist / soloist. I can't do that. :D Of course, the process is different for men. Women have a "break" in their voices where thicker muscles in the vocal cords take over. We have to spend a lot of time learning how to blend "head" and "chest" voice in that range. I still have to practice.
Men are lucky not to have a "break" in that range, but it still takes a lot of practice to jump intervals like that.
Really annoying that I'm getting this comey gold in my "recommendations" 10+ years after the fact. Grea timing, YT - better late than never? smh
