- Who are the Druze?: Inside Israel's Most Secretive Religion: • Inside Israel’s Most S...
The Druze are a unique religious and ethnic group who have been living in the Middle East for nearly a thousand years, with around a million adherents today living primarily in Lebanon, Syria, Israel and Jordan.
According to the consensus of historians, the Druze religion dates back to the 11th century where it emerged from Ismaili Islam, with the formation of a fascinating syncretic, esoteric, mystical theology - a secretive, unitive philosophy blending Islamic monotheism with Persian and Iranian Gnosticism, Indian mysticism, Jewish and Christian scripture and spirituality, and classic Greek philosophy.
As with many esoteric traditions, the Druze consider their origins to go well before 11th century Islam, claiming hidden roots that go all the way back to the mystery religions and mystical traditions of ancient Babylon, Greece and Egypt, the cradles of western culture, philosophy and mysticism.
Since the year 1043 the community has closed its doors to outsiders, refusing to accept any new converts to the religions. Much of the Druze tradition is kept secret, even from those within community itself that haven’t been initiated into the secrets of the tradition. With only those who elect and are accepted to be “in the know,” being able to participate fully in the religion and gaining access to the secret teachings of their sacred scriptures, The Epistles of Wisdom, the Kitab al-Hikmah.
The central mystical doctrine of Druze faith is the Islamic belief in tawhid, the unity and oneness of God, on steroids, reading its secret meaning, the hidden of the hidden, batin al batin, as a quest for mystical union with the One. And in that vein the Druze actually prefer not to call themselves Druze, a name which goes back to the 11th century preacher Ad-Darazi, whom the Druze consider a heretic, but prefer to call themselves موحدّون دروز al-Muwaḥḥidūn, the unitarians, the unifiers, one even might say, Seekers of Unity ;)
Join us next week as we explore the mysteries of this incredible tradition and try find someone in the know who might even be willing to share a few of their secrets

Thank you Brother 🙏🏼 Can’t wait to film with you again soon.
My friend and co-worker is Druze. He has tons of stories about people being reincarnated in his village and neighboring villages. He recently flew back to Syria and is gonna stay there for 3 months
I do wanna mention tho that he does consider the Druze religion to be basically a sect of Islam. I'm not sure how popular this sentiment is, since online its always considered a separate religion.
That’s epic.
God protect him!
@@DarkMoonDroid The Druze region is pretty safe

Im from Druidia
Hey Zevi!
Why do you call your channel the seekers of unity after the Druze?!
Hi Rabbi. The channel’s names is a translation of the phrase “דורשי יחודך” from the poem and prayer Ana B’Koacha attributed to Nechunya ben haKanah from the 1st century CE. Which would make it antedate the Druze and Islam as a whole by a couple centuries :)
I am a durze
Zevi are you a Druz?
We all are a little. The question is, how Druz are you?
Sabaq nai half genocide
Ini bukan islam menurut saya
Basicly they MIXED EVERYTHING just like a COCKTAIL.
Nothing original from them.
