Hell doesn't look THAT bad. I still have to do it but it seems manageable if you take your time. I'm suprise you didn't use the flame more for parts, that works so well to arc down and kill things below
This is a very fitting name for the end of the game: hell. They throw a difficult platforming section before the throne room then a mini boss then a lot of stone dropper things. BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE because somehow that was minor compared to the torture that is this stage. It took me an hour to get to the throne room. And stupidly I used my life capsule thinking that was the end. NOW I HAVE TO GO THROW ANOTHER FUCKING MAZE OF DEATH AND FIGHT THE FINAL BOSS WITHOUT ANY CHECK POINTS OR HEALS? WHAT THE FUCK
I lost count on how many times it took me and I only finished it once. I used the snaker when I did. I found that's a pretty safe choice for a slow run.
When does this happen in the game? I have Cave Story + on Switch on normal mode and it ended with the undead core being the final boss. Was there something I missed?
You need: - the tow rope from the first time you fight the core so you can save Curly when the room floods - drain Curly, reboot her and take her with you - get the 290 counter on your way up to mimiga farm - talk to Curly in mimiga farm, then talk to the green npc next to her - go back to mimiga village, enter the cemetery and talk to ma pignon. Answers are yes, no, yes, yes, no. Check the mushroom badge, then talk to ma pignon again. After you fight him you head back to the farm and talk to Curly until she gives you an item. If you did all of these steps, the house on the way to the doctor should now have a pitfall next to the save point. Save and good luck with your hell run!

you get the Whimsical Star from haba at the Labyrinth Shop after fighting Ironhead and ending back at the empty Mimiga Town

You need all the items necessary and to do things in order.
You need:

you have to get an item from curly if you speak her multiple times when she was in the plantation after you gave her the mushroom.
