The members of Trio Grande 2.0 are all masters of their instruments. Still, the trio is more than the sum of its parts. For example, Will Vinson plays electronic keyboards alongside his trusted alto sax, while Gilad Hekselman has taken on both the guitar and bass parts. The well-received album Trio Grande was recorded with drummer Antonio Sánchez. In Trio Grande 2.0, both bass and drums are played by Nate Wood, who has previously performed here with Kneebody and Donny McCaslin. This fall the refreshed trio from New York will release a new album.
Originally from London, saxophonist Will Vinson is acclaimed for his virtuosity and his melodies, which have been compared to vocal lines. He has in fact collaborated with renowned singer-songwriters such as Rufus Wainwright and Sufjan Stevens, alongside major players in contemporary jazz. Gilad Hekselman is one of those guitar players who seduces you with a warm, clean tone, and will move you to the edge of your seat with breathtaking improvisations. He has established himself as one of the leading voices in jazz guitar.

These guys are all great and supremely musical. But Nate Wood playing bass and drums is just amazing. He must have two brains!

Amazing concert. Thanks so much. Hekselmans melodic sense gets me every time. Bimhuis TV is a real gem. It also doesn't seem easy to capture reasonable sound because I can imagine the setup is mainly focused on filling in the sound in the room for the live audience with speakers and monitors firing everywhere. Still the recordings are engineered so nicely that it all doesn't matter anymore. Kudos to the engineers. The archive is a treasure trove too. Keep up the good work. Thanks again.

Damn, missed the live stream. This is one amazing trio, love the concept. Thanks for sharing. PS: Second tune 'Long Way From Home' blew me away, so beautiful.... Have a feeling the rest of the songs will keep t up. Update from11/22/22 - Incredible. 'Eli Yeled Tov' set up a great Afro Beat groove and its deceptively simple yet lyrical theme becomes a platform for their solo tradings, from melodic to oblique and 'Oberkampf' is gorgeous, haunting, moody and dark featuring amazing solos from WV and GH. Hard to say which one Iiked best. Superb interpretation of the standard 'You Do Something To Me', 'Far Star' lives up to its title, and take you on a journey beyond. I'm running out of complimentary adjectives.
What Gilad play on Tripwire during Will Vinson's solo is amazing, turning triplet 5/4 into 4 groups of 5/8.

Perhaps an old Sonor kit. The usual house kit however is a Yamaha
