- Opening in 2025, Metro’s plan includes better transit to connect more people to more places with Section 1 of the D Line Subway Extension Project. This project extends the D Line from Koreatown through Miracle Mile, adding three new stations at Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax and Wilshire/La Cienega.

A person who lives in that neighborhood recently told me work on that project has been on hold for many months because some dinosaur fossils were found.
Maybe they’ll send them to a museum but yeah this happens a lot here in Europe they have specialists on site just in case they find historical stuff.
@@gbalph4 The La Brea Tar Pits are only about a mile away from this project where fossils were found, and now housed, years ago.
@imagesinla8575 Actually, the LA Brea tar pits are an active excavation site.
Great to see the progress. Hopefully, they stay on schedule. It's slated to be open in 2025 along with the Fairfax and La Cienega stations.
Remember....
Built by 2025, doesn't mean running that same year. It usually takes 12 months for conductors to test drive the system. Before they open to the public. But from the looks of things. Some of the stations don't look completed.
this station has been in construction for the longest time even before covid.. i remember I used to work near the area 4-5 years ago.. holy cow its taking so long.
That was my old neighborhood, living nearly in the early '90s, before moving to K-town, 3 miles east, later.
Eventual terminus at VA in Westwood? It’s been a long slog, especially since construction waited on a lifetime encompassing, 50 years go ahead before metro even started the first (blue) line. Better late than never, I guess. But that’s another story. Will it be enough to pry commuters out of their cars? Perhaps relieve traffic on Wilshire at least.
It'll be there for people that want to use it. You're right. The key is being built. Maybe 20 years from now is when it becomes a clear necessity. I walk 1.1 miles to get to a C line station from my house. If I trusted the parking lot, I'd use it a lot more.
Not if the destitute people of our society are using it for a mobile homeless shelter or If the trains continue to look and smell like they do in Union Station and the downtown metro area then people won’t be giving up their cars to commute to work anytime soon.
It’s going to take another TEN years to finish 😅
Of course not.
It will be in operation before the 2028 Olympics
Nope. If LA keep up with their SJW crybaby memes, then it will take more than ten years to finish.
