G’day from Australia!! I am a Licenced Aircraft Mechanic. Every Oil Scavenge line on a Jet has its own Filter. They are small & usually sit in a bank. They get pulled & sent for checking under a Microscope to see what’s in them. Lots of “tells” in them if stuff is going wrong. Having individual Filters it is super easy to identify where a problem may be starting. Cheers! Love ya work Steve!
Is the pressure lower on planes ? I remember watching a Cleetus upload where he used plane or helicopter oil and its way weird ( thin ) compared to automotive. Adelaide here, How good is Steve =)
@JestaBl1tz Negative, jet engines typically use an oil-mist sump with nozzles pointed at bearings but the sumps are pressurized with air from the compressor to keep the compressed air from the flowpath getting into the bearing sumps. Bearings are either roller or ball (depending if it's taking a thrust load), so it's not an apples to apples comparison. It's just single weight. Mobil Jet II is a common one if you wanted to look up exact specs. 15+ years of jet engine repair and overhaul experience on GE engines (CF series). On our engines there's just a screen on every sump line to catch large pieces for diagnosis but still a single master filter. Magnetic plugs are also sometimes used depending on configuration.

It's a simple mathematical fact, the "hole" size between the woof and warp in the mask tissue multiplied by the exponential of 10 to the third or ten to the forth (I don't remember which now, or maybe more) and you multiply the diameter of the virus by the same number, the "hole" in the mask is 30 feet square and the virus is the size of a basketball, can you really expect me to believe the masks foolishness was of any value? It was ALL about control of the ENTIRE world by ONE man, hmmmmm, where have I read that before?
If I remember correctly this is more of a filtering down from higher up the engineering tree of technology as tuners and the technology becomes cheap enough for this application. Ablative coatings for final tolerancing have been a thing for years I'm sure. Please, anyone, correct me if I'm wrong!! 😅

Primarily due to the efficiency of today’s turbos, and manufacturing tolerances… Maybe faster spooling? Slightly cooler outlet temps? coffee filters are the best for everything filter related and their cheap. They can be used as butt wipes in a pinch! I filter oil, gasoline and trans fluid through them, they are all purpose!
Automotive paint filters are also very cheap and available in different pore sizes and hold a funnel shape. I see your point but personally I don't think I could wait long enough for a coffee filter.
yeah, that seems to be the million dollar question!! Where did Kevin disappear to?? Once he'd failed to get the car finished after having Steven & crew there working 3 days/nights non=stop, Kevin hasn't released any videos or said a word since that time. Odd, to say the least. Very odd. And Steve was (as expected) VERY VERY gracious towards Kevin in regards to not having the Camaro even remotely ready.
Can't get over how mild mannered that 540 sounds at idle.....on gas. Our old L 88 big block STREET motors were lumpy as hell at idle. They sounded like an angry fuel motor. But your bigger engine really sounds like my old stock L72. Modern technology is just amazing.
That's because a turbo cam isn't lopey like a high compression NA cam. Turbo cams are much smoother plus two turbos muffle the exhaust note a bit. Also Steve has really fine tuned these SMXs to run extremely well and smooth.

I love the Peterson dry sump products. The oil tanks with the scavenge filters built in are awesome. We ran Peterson dry sump compo9nents on my buddies dirt latemodel i used to crew. The R4 pumps are great too. They also make a filter housing with built in pre lube pump you operate with a drill.
When it actually does spool up and load the turbos it's gonna take more off just from the thrust from boost pressure. Hope it helps out though and makes it a bit more efficient.
I was thinking how cool it would be if you could figure out a way to mount the wheelie bars on the inside of the lid. You open the top and the bars are still out of the way.
That second layer sure caught a lot of dust yeah those turbos I think because your closing gaps up you'll probably at a lower given speed should see greater pressure, because of efficiency due to coatings, less back up loss, and also because of the effeciency the loads on turbo fins will come to flare at lower speeds, bed in quicker, and close its tolerances up quicker with everything back in place tubes and all. This is cool stuff. I believe your tubos will at minimum have efficiency, as well as some longevity as far as the turbo blades are concerned seeing lower speeds to get said pressure you want to produce

the rag over the turbo trick might allso work to see how mush oil a turbo spits out wonder if clearancing the turbo by running it then recoat over the old coating and repeat will make the turbo even more efficient , you would think that if the whole surface is just about touching the turbine and is ground smooth by it should increase efficiebcy (or increase drag)
Just an observation / idea. Could that little bit of contact inside the turbo be from the turbo surging on the 2 step? With all the heat and pressure building and sitting on stand-by, could that allow the metal to expand, or pressure to build to allow the turbo fin shafts to walk in and out that little bit? Would or could it only happen to parts making contact while under pressure and not while sitting? Could you redo a housing and try a pull without a 2 step, to see if it's 2 step related? Sorry for the question/observation. Strictly courisity. P.s. if the cars named "French Toast", could the trailer be called "side of helpings" ? Good day from sunny South Africa. To add oil pressure at idle, is there an electric oil pump on the market? It would only operate up to a set RPM or up to a particulare oil pressure. The ECU should be able to control something like this easily.
would the turbos not draw in partical particulats through the front just from the dust in the air ? maybe air dilters should be on to give more accurate results.

After you go to the track and make a full pass need to see how the turbos look would be very cool to see how much the wheel moved under a lot of load.
