We need to stop allowing people to tell us what is "in" and what is "out." Wear what makes you comfortable and confident. This habit of throwing out clothes every season is one created for us by the fashion industry. The only wardrobe expert anyone needs is themselves.
I only throw away ripped ones or doesn't fit me anymore. I still kept Abercrombie and hollister cute cardigans. Some cute styles aren't remade anymore.
💯 the fashionable people are the first to reclaim the styles they formerly rejected because they don’t dress for what they like, they dress for what they’re told! And the fashion industry tells them to wear whatever creates more style turnover and, consequently, more money for them.
Rebel against this tyranny ladies!! I quit fast fashion and have never looked back. I thrifted a whole new wardrobe full of quality materials, classic shapes and colors and prints that make me smile and make me feel like me. I don't keep track of trends any more because the stuff I wear, to me, defies trends. They are simply "me." And no more clothes in the landfill. 😄
No one is passing laws. You can wear what you like. If you dont care about trends dont watch videos about trends. In any case, I LIKE knowing what trends are doing. Thats why Im watching it. So stop telling me what to do.
I buy inexpensive cute clothes to keep for a season or two. I get tired of wearing the same things and am happy to replace them with new items from trends that my favorite influencers show me and help me style. If I love an item, it will go into my permanent closet and I'll wear it maybe once every year. I love the examples of fresh looks that Shea shares! So cute, I can't wait to try them. Take what ideas you like and discard the rest. Just be your fabulous self!
Hear hear! V-necks are a must if you are a busty woman of a certain age. Crew necks and turtlenecks just emphasize the amount of distance between my head and my boobs.
As a woman with a slightly smaller chest I have to admit that I also love a V-neck shirt 😀 It makes me feel so perfectly balanced between stylish and cool :')
The waterfall cardigans are so much more flattering than the chunky, oversized sweaters, especially if you’re short. The waterfall cardigans elongate you, while the chunky squared sweaters cut you off. I think figure flattering is more important than what is “in” or “out.”
1000% --- as someone whose tall and large chested, I can assure you I will continue wearing waterfall, Crowl neck (those and collars are my BFF), as well as NON pointy boots --- actually, I've often wondered WHO can wear those pointy toes -- perhaps super short ppl with small feet? They always look like witches feet on me, so hard pass! LOL
I hate them. With a passion. Same with infinity scarves. I hated them when they were in style. I hate asymmetric things too. Like just have the buttons or zipper go down the front unless its a motorcycle jacket.
I actually feel like the water fall adds a lot of width and thickness around the belly? Which I am personally insecure about. It might feel like it's "covering" to add a bunch of layers there but actually is exaggerating a curvy belly, and make the shoulders and bust looks smaller than the waste by flaring out there. More flattering might be a longer blazer (Tina Fey and Amy Poehler both used them to literally cover entire pregnancies during filming of different tv shows) or a longer non water-fall cardigan. Nonetheless I think they can be really pretty and everyone should wear whatever they want-- I call it a "personal classic."
Just saw a picture of Gigi Hadid in Paris in leopard print loafers so safe to say they are still "in". Personally I think a good leopard print in shoes and clothing is classic.
@@SuperMsPharmacy And timeless. This girl just lives for what she sees that everyone use on social media. Like every "influencer", without any personal sense of style.
@@amandaamanda5398 As a matter of fact didn't watch it at all ! I just wrote this comment because I used to feel really guilty for wearing what I want, as people sayed past trends I liked were dated or out of style (tho i rocked it) i don't criticize the video itself, i'm just sayin while it's great to keep up with trends and see what's out of style, nothing should keep you from dressing in a way that makes you feel good :D and no one can judge you for it ! maybe someone needed to read that, it wasn't your case and I get that !
@@harunakirisaki2602 "no one can judge you for it"----this is a bit of fantasy land. People judge, they can, and they'll. No laws can guard against what people think in their heads, or what people talk behind others' backs. What you can do is to not care.
Girl as long as you’re comfortable with it then go for it. Don’t let social media or the world dictates how you dress up. Your body, your style and stay classy.
This is so funny for me! As a 70 yr old women I rock nearly all of these "out of date" styles because frankly I can't afford to ditch my whole wardrobe. I wear what looks good on my 5'2" frame! I love animal prints when done well, cowl neck sweaters, round toe boots and peep toe shoes! Never been a fan of waterfall sweaters or infinity scarves or super skinny jeans! I mainly shop at Chicos, Talbot's and Chadwicks online and guess what, they are selling all of these supposed fashion faux pas!
I love a woman who knows what works for her! Trends are just fast fashion. Here today, gone tomorrow. But a lady who knows her body, and has her own sense of personal style, is NEVER out of fashion!!! She is ALWAYS well dressed and put together.
Hi Shea, thanks for the updates🤗. I’ve never liked “infinity scarves (although I do have some😮), cowl neck sweaters are uncomfortable and never stay put. I’m over 70 and no leopard boots/shoes for me. I will be keeping some of my round tie booties. Their to $$ to replace for me plus I feel more useful for our mid-west winters. Keep us updated🎉. Love watching and listening to your suggestions.
Why are they way cooler? I mean, I think she has a point. Seems like I have seen more round necked t shirts, but there are plenty of v necked t shirts that dont have that dont look like she is showing, and anyhow, the biggest problem with what she shows is that its untucked.
But she is right. We are pushing the minimalist thing, and V necks are kind of gone, however, wrap shirts are a v neck, and as someone who likes ballet, I love them.
A V-neck (not super deep) is ALWAYS more flattering on a larger bust. Crew necks make your boobs look like a “uniboob” and way too large! Smaller busts can be flattered by either style.
I think style and “trends” are two different things. We all have our own style. Trends are what go in and out. I try to avoid looking too trendy or shopping for overly trendy things.
So true! Style and trends are not the same. You cannot teach style either. You have it or you don’t. A stylish e person can make practically anything look great and isn’t bound by too many rules. Shea has style
Same, not only because I enjoy a more classic and neutral style, but also because I care about buying things for the long terms both from a financial and environmental / sustainability point of view.
If I’m mostly clean and put forth as much effort as I have to give that day, I’m going to feel good about it…regardless if anyone thinks I’m “out of style”.
Most of these I’m fine with being out. The only two I disagree on are the v-necks and boots. Those really are classics in all styles due to preference, body shape, etc.
Yes I agree v neck goes with women different body types and is a classic. She got it wrong with the animal print that is always in style a classic. Fun video tho!
I wore cowl neck sweaters, wide leg jeans, and clogs in high school in 1978. I bought these things again last year and it is fun to be nostalgic. Everything comes back sooner or later it seems.
Every year, what was popular 20 years ago comes back. It's been like that since the dawn of fashion. Here in the 2020s the 2000s are back in style so that rule seems to be reining true stil
I personally find it exhausting to even think about all the trends and styles and what’s in and what’s out🤷🏻♀️, which is why I prefer simple, classic styles. Would you consider doing a video on things that never go out of style?
Love this idea. I think she has done similar videos before but it’s always good to have an updated one. For me, I always love a good quality white button down, good fitting jeans, quality boots/shoes and a nice sweater or jacket. By no means am I some fashion guru, not even close! In my 47yrs I’ve found those are just a few things that never go out of style. You can use accessories to make your look more up to date, if you choose. Just my (unwarranted) 2cents! LoL
A channel you probably will like is Frederique Bros. She is French, now living in Australia, and features such classic, classy fashion. She's very down to earth and personable, too. Give her a try.
Hows this for an easy fix so you're never out of fashion: Don't follow fashion trends in the first place. Wear what you like and what fits you. If you're never in fashion you can't be out of fashion. Style and fashion are not the same thing. You can be 10000% unfashionable and still look stylish and immaculately put together. Just learn what looks good on you, get your stuff tailored if possible, or better yet learn to sew so you have full control over fabric, style and fitting. Think like people did in the past when buying new clothes was a luxury: THINK before buying, choose items wisely, spend more money on higher quality items, buy 1/4 of the amount of them preferably in natural fibres because they hang better and feel nicer. look after them properly - they'll last longer, look better and serve you well. Curate your wardrobe so everything goes with everything else. Problem solved, less throwing crap out because for some unfathomable reason you let other people dictate what you should wear and feel like you need to keep up with the joneses. Less damage to the environment.
@@ringwe I mean I guess, but sometimes with pointy toed shoes, they fit you length wise but are just too narrow. So the size that you would typically wear no longer works because of the narrowness, and thus you need to “size up.” A certain size might be right for you in general, but wrong for you with a specific shoe shape. That’s also why I suggested adding inserts, because if you’re having to size up in order to have enough width, the length may then be too long, so adding inserts helps to counteract that while leaving you the desired added width.
@@katie-allen That's a problem certain brands try to solve by offering wide options for the same model, without the need to upsize. The problem with getting a larger size to accomodate the toes is that you lose support in the back and that brings a whole load of problems. Sadly the truth is that if a shoe isn't comfortable in the standard size it means it was designed rather poorly and that's unfair because it means those with a small budget will need to compromise comfort for fashion. Mind you I don't forget that a rule of thumb is to always look at the brand's size chart if possible. But overall, at least in the European market there seems to be an agreement on the length of the foot corresponging to a size.
To update leopard print, you can contrast with other prints like stripes and camo…….I’m NEVER giving up on my leopard prints!!!! BTW, they’re extremely flattering on black women and other POC’s which many mainstream style influencers never seem to take into consideration when they critique fashion in regards to colors, prints and some proportions.
I think animal print is something you like or dont. I have some things I like, but mostly I dont like it. Leopard print thats of good quality doesnt go out of style.
Totally agree! And the outfit in the pic she showed....even though it was also skinny jeans and flats -- oh the horror!!! LOL!! I think all of it looked fantastic and classy and stylish...not outdated 🤷♀
You know what, with real fashion as opposed fast fashion, what’s fashionable is what ever your personal style is. Don’t stick to what’s in or out of fashion, wear what you love.
Me too! That is the beauty of being comfortable with oneself and not always worrying about being always part of the trend. Or sticking with a trend that feels like you and works best for your life style and wallet.
She doesn't know what she's talking about... I've seen another of her videos in my suggestions some time ago and she said thick belts were out yet ALL the expensive ready to wear from Italy had them... I think she should educate herself a bit on this topic or maybe just stick to make up videos! 🤡
I actually love the water fall cardigans and the cowl neck sweaters 😍. Also I love wearing the skinny jeans with flats since I’m tall. I love wearing v neck T-shirt rather than crew neck ones. I wear what looks good on me not what’s on style or trendy. 😊
The problem with trends is that so called “new” recommendation will also go out in style in a year or two. It is a constant hamster wheel to try being trendy. A better solution is to develop your own style that is unique to you.
Yup. I still remember when skinny jeans became a thing and I felt all "out of style" with my late 90s/early 2000s baggy, straight cut jeans. Now all the teens/20 year olds are raving about their "vintage" 90s thrift finds. lol
I'm 40 next month. I have seen so many trends come and go and back around again. My advice is to dress your body in the way that makes you look and feel your best. Do you. Wear whatever the hell you want and own it. Besides, trends used to build up and last and define whole decades. Now they last a season and you're expected to throw everything out and get all new. Bull. No.
I have 2 comments. 1. IMO the open toe bootie is very cute particularly in warmer climates. 2. It really bothers me how much our society wastes over 'trends'.
@@helenhall299 I appreciate your opinion. 😊 That said, I live in sunny Florida. Walking around in traditional boots looks very out of place here IMO the peep toe shootie is doable.
Why do we even follow this garbage? "This will never go out of style." One or two years later: "It's out." I have some cowl neck sweaters, and I'm going to wear them. Designers will always change hemlines, necklines, waistlines, colors, etc. That's how they make their money. We need to stop following trends. It's impossible to keep up. Who doesn't love a v-neck? If you love them, hold onto them, and wear them. I am sick of torn jeans though.
This is so exhausting. Fast fashion fuels this mentality. Can we take into account body types (v neck, chunky sweaters) and practicality (flats, not replacing round toe booties)? If people judge others based on the roundness or point of their bootie they’ve got bigger issues. I do not care to be in the cool/current club. I realize I’m probably in the wrong place since trends are what Shae does. I’d prefer more classic looks content but I realize that’s hard to make endless videos about 🤷🏻♀️
I know these videos are for fun and people should wear what they are comfortable in. One thing to notice though, is if large companies are still selling some of these styles than they likely aren’t as out of style as one may think. Just something to keep in mind when shopping.💜
I agree. Honestly, I'm starting to find these videos a little exhausting. These are regular clothing items -- nobody is ever going to notice if it's cold and you're wearing an Infinity scarf vs. a regular scarf. It's almost like this list is "what's out of style for Instagram posts" and not regular people.
I’m not sure that’s true. It’s surprising how many people are consistently a few years behind what the trends are and always playing catch up. It’s as if they see it enough on others and in movies (which are usually not released for a year to year and a half after shooting) that they finally feel comfortable and sure buying the style. Then the next year, it’s pretty much out of style. But the clothes feel new to them still and they aren’t going to replace them, certainly not with new, untested styles, so the process starts again. Also, some people get stuck in a rut wearing things that were popular when they were in college or even in high school. They remember them fondly and the memories make them feel youthful even though the styles don’t make them LOOK youthful. So you see a whole lot of people of a certain age walking around with “the infinity scarf look” or the “waterfall sweater and long necklace look”. And then there are the things that seem to hang on forever now - like leggings and skinny jeans - because people just won’t give them up for a combo of these reasons plus comfort. They’ve become uniforms. BTW, most of us still have leggings and skinny jeans - I do, too, but I don’t wear them when I’m going out. Heck, I still even have some of the super stretchy PATTERNED leggings that I wear hanging around my house! They’re as comfy as staying in jammies (which I also occasionally do) but I get more done because I don’t feel as lazy! 😂
@@Lucinda_Jackson seriously.. A nobody troll with a Nothing Utube Channel. Why are you here? Go back to your own channel and converse with other trolls
Well, to be fair just because companies still sell something, doesnt mean it fashionable. Now if Net-A-Porter still sold that, Id tend to agree. They curate.
I came into my teen years when unfortunately the style trends happened to be horrible for my body type. But, I didn't know that I just thought I was unattractive and my body was weird some how because nothing looked good or fit me. Fast forward to my 20-30's and the fashion trends suited my small petite frame 1000% better and my self esteem increased to match. I think the lesson I took away from that now that I am well over 40 is the most stylish thing of all is to wear what flatters you and makes you feel great. xoxo
I don’t understand how people praise “slow fashion”, then tell people what they are wearing is “out of style” if they wear something that came out more than 30 minutes ago.
Not a fan of most of the things in this video but I do have a mermaid hair waver and love it! Also as a plus sized gal with a large chest, v necks will never be out of style, they’re a necessity.
Learning your style aesthetic and flattering styles for your body shape will always make you look chic and stylish which is my goal not trendy fast fashion. Ladies keep the things you love and feel amazing in and just add an updated element that will always. make you look current.
But do people ever feel amazing if they are wearing things that just feel old at the moment? You dont need to throw anything out. Good quality things should always be kept, but you can always put them to the back for a while.
So glad you told me what not to wear! I feel lost without you telling me not to wear those clothes I love. Hearing your likes far surpasses the resonance my body feels wearing things. Thank you so so much.
I'm an elementary teacher. We wear t-shirt dresses for comfort and it fits in the dress code. I'm not ready to give them up. Mine are a little more fitted and look great on me.
By the time you are reading this, the "in looks" in this video are already outdated....and every "out of style" in this video is back IN STYLE!! But seriously.... Wear what YOU want! Wear what makes YOU happy!!! Wear what YOU feel comfortable in!! Wear what feels good to YOU!!!!!!!
Too funny. Nothing is out if you feel good in it!! I am 49 and I can remember doing my hair like yours and wearing a shirt like yours (which is out by the way😅). Everything comes back around. Nothing new here!! Love your videos!!!
I was just about to say that shirt is out!!!This video came up in my suggestions & I thought I’d give it a chance but as soon as I saw the this lady with a spring top (in the fall!) from like 10 years ago (I’m exaggerating a bit) I couldn’t watch the whole video. Why follow advice from someone that won’t take her own advice?? 🤦🏻♀️
Not trying to be mean but that hair to me seems super outdated? Maybe a younger person could sport it but not women in their mid 30s on up, I think it makes us look older. Like I said my 19 year old niece could rock it but not me.
Rarely do I comment on videos…appreciate Shea’s opinions and her delivery, as always. At the end of the day, wear what works for your body and wardrobe. I think several items listed as “out” are actually classics, and trying to stick to the fashion industry’s “trends” is pretty toxic for people’s mental/financial health and the environment. (Perhaps rotate/store certain items b/c, best believe, they’ll be back in 3-5 years)
My kids asked me for a leather bomber jacket I had ages ago. Now their kids are asking for their denim fleece jacket from ages ago. Things never truly go out of fashion, they just mutate.
I try to stay “in style” but some of the trends just don’t look good on me. For example, the baggy jeans/clothes look so frumpy and ugly on me. As a result, They don’t make me feel good. Even my husband noticed and said something. I’m usually polished and put together and these baggy frumpy styles that are in right now are just not doing it for my body type. Does anyone else feel this way? I tried to find some others that can relate and am having no luck.
Yep! I can relate. I'm tall and skinny with a very narrow/small frame. I've tried to do the loose, kinda "boho chic" styles but it's like everything is too big. I think some people just need things a little more fitted or maybe just with a little waist definition. I tried an Amazon dress the other day (it was a best-seller too) and my fiancé said I looked "cute but also Amish". I was like "yeah this is a no" 😂
@@Cammay15 Yes I am also tall and thin with a straight waist and the loose clothes just make me look shapeless. I know the "boyfriend" blazer is in style but I still wear the fitted ones because they look so much better on me.
I stopped following what's on "trend" and just wear what makes me feel good. I thrifted my leopard flats a few years ago & I like to wear them all year long. I love my round booties!
Not all of us want to look like a Instagram influencer who doesn’t work and spends all day at target and starbucks. I’m keeping my skinny jeans and flats !
And so goes much of the arsenal for the short apple shapes among us. The cardigans that flare (as opposed to creating bulk exactly at the wrong place), V necks, and failing that, the long pendants. I spent years curating what works with my body and personal style and I am going to stick to that. When it comes to boots, they are expensive and sturdy footwear so I don't own many pairs, and they get worn until they let the snow in. Tough luck, my winter boots have a contrasting sole. That's OK, they will probably be back in style next year. I'll survive 2022.
I am an apple/rectangle shape and personally feel like the waterfall sweaters just made me look a lot more chesty than I actually am. The solution that seems to work for me is doing a longer length without the waterfall, but some thing that has stitching or detailing that kind of tricks the eye and elongates the body. It takes a little bit of trial and error but it’s worth it.
OMG I am a short apple too!!! I was also thinking "NOOOO!!!" as I saw yet something else that is more flattering on my body type be considered out of style and something that my body type would look dreadful in be the recommendation. Not Shea's fault, I'm sure she looks amazing in all those things - but for those who find it quite challenging to finally get our hands on pieces that we feel confident it and flatter our body types, then we find out if we wear it, we will be out of style 😞. Let's face it, the fashion world directly aims their styles toward tall, thin bods, so the struggle is real!!!
Love you Shea you always do such an amazing job! I did check with the fashion police and yes leopard is still in for 2022/23! and I agree with you that there are certain prints that are just cheesy (no matter what animal we rep) like the first ones you showed, so we need to be careful when we wear those but the bigger prints! and yes the more subtle prints are still in and they are rocking it. Just a sidenote with V-neck T-shirts. Some of us girls, who have large “top girls”, need the v-neck to flatter the tops of our bodies. So in my opinion a T-shirt is a T-shirt and regardless of the style T-shirts will never go out of style. Keep doing your awesome stuff! ❤❤❤
I think everyone should dress according to their level of comfort and body type. Who cares what “trends” are in or out, unless you are in the fashion industry… You are are beautiful no matter what! Dress in what makes you feel beautiful. I accidentally came across this video and 100% wear several of these items, because they are what I like.
Agree with everything except V-neckline. If you have a larger chest I think crew neck might not be as flattering. V-necks just make everyone look longer in my opinion. I will definitely check out that crimper though! Looking for new ways to style my long hair.
Lol this is so funny because several fashion influencers I follow on Instagram are saying ballet flats and riding boots are back, baby! Just wear whatever, we’re in a trend less age.
I agree with all of these and started to drift away from them a couple years ago because the styles were just looking a bit tired. My husband also commented the other day that he's seeing alot less females dressed like Han Solo this year. 😆
obviously to each their own, but i agree with 95% of this video. young people nowadays are not wearing these styles lol. i’m an older millennial so i still have some of these in my closet though 😂
V-necks will never go out of style.. that’s the one I disagreed with. People wear different necklines depending on their body shape and what works for them. V-necks are a classic, so don’t worry 😊
@@stephanieofili9069 Me too! That's a ridiculous thing to say! 🙄 But Shea says a lot of ridiculous things when she gives her opinion on what everyone else should be wearing in these videos. It's nothing more than her telling everyone what she prefers and what she likes. She's not basing these recommendations on any real fashion knowledge or expertise. Wear what you like and what makes you feel good and don't worry about what Shea or anyone else thinks! 🥰💛💖
Skinny jeans with ballerina flats is my everyday uniform 😂 Love it! (Also just decided to ONLY buy V-neck t-shirts.. now I realize why they are so hard to find! Will keep buying them through..)
Boy, I’m glad I’m at the age I can care less about what’s “in” or “out” (not because it doesn’t matter to me how I look but rather because my opinion about what [not] to wear is the only thing that matters for me choosing my wardrobe and feeling good wearing it). It must be exhausting constantly tracking what’s trending and trying to follow. And extremely wasteful. What am I doing in this video? I have no idea! Got curious when UA-cam suggested it. I want to mention though that it’s a quality content for those who’s interested in this topic.
Ya know, when you're small and everything looks very good on you, it's hard for you to judge what looks good on big girls! We need V Neck to elongate our chubby necks. That's also what long necklaces do! Leopard shoes are cute.
I'm 72 and buy high end a lot of the time! Just wondering if all these "going out" styles are your opinion? The websites, from which I buy show a lot of what's going out! There are classics that will forever, be classic!
Haha my entire fall wardrobe made this list! I actually was wearing riding boots out to a fall event a few weeks ago and noticed not a single other pair so I wondered. I have purchased a few new cute Shea suggested items to work in but I'm still keeping my infinity scarves, round-toed booties, long necklaces and riding boots, just maybe less frequently 🤣
V-neck t-shirts are a must for those of us with broad, squared off shoulder and larger chests. We can’t wear a neckline that goes all the way up. It makes us look much heavier/bigger than we really are. We need to break it up by revealing a little skin in the neckline.
We’re supposed to take fashion advice from someone wearing a spring top and spring makeup in late fall, and who, quite frankly, looks extremely outdated herself? Nah. I’m good. Wear what makes you happy.
Exactly! If you are looking great in them then what's issue? lol haha Just like some buy really expensive brands but look really ugly in them or no matter who wears them it's still an ugly item? haha and some people wear much more affordable items and looking like a milion bucks? haha lol..Fashion is fashion who is to say what's in trend or not? Ohh I thought the hairstyle is a bit outdated? haha lol 🤣😆 Wear what ever makes us happy and COMFORTABLE.
In the late 70s cowl necks were very in fashion! I remember I had a cowl-neck sweater with batwing sleeves in green and in orange (the 70s, remember!) And then by the early 80s, bam they were out of style. I remember my mom once telling me, all fashions come around again eventually.....she was right! I guess we (well, not me) can look for cowls again in the 2060s!
Darn! 😚I do all those dated things - so glad to know they are no longer “cool” - thanks Shea (as I sit here reading this in my sweatshirt dress with long necklace and leopard print flats) Ha! 🍂☺️
Shea, I usually agree with you but no. The scarf tucked into the belt is not trendy. You didn’t mention square toed boots, those have been back in style for over a year. Also, flats are HUGE this fall! They are back in style! Wish you would have mentioned mom/dad jeans & flared yoga pants as those are also back in style.
Never cared too much about trends. I wear what looks good on me. Keeping my Blondo boots. I paid decent money for them, they look good, Nordstrom is selling rounder toed boots as well as pointy boots, so they’re staying 😀
I am definitely gonna be out of style this year. That's ok. I buy stuff and wear stuff that I like. I will probably end up with maybe 4 new things that are not out of style.
I love your videos, Shea, I really do. You are so warm and lovely! Yet I must say this: I find too dated... to speak about dated things! Whoever you are, go for what you like and suits you best! Whoever doesn't like it they can look elsewhere! For budget, ecological and personal taste reasons, I am the only one who decides on what stays and what goes. 😉
I think some of my things are outdated. I’ve just worn them too long, so I would like some recommendations. If that doesn’t apply to you, why are you even here. To gripe?
The v neck tshirts are a MUST if you your chest is a D or higher otherwise, you could come off looking like a linebacker. 😂😂 that’s me! I HAVE to wear v necks!!!
I Shea! I'm a long time fan/follower. If I could give some constructive feedback on your fashion videos, it would be to include different body types. I'm short and curvy, and would love to see some of these styles on mid size/plus size women. Super tall, skinny, Caucasian women is all I see represented here. Love you and your content though!
Franca, fellow apple here (+ short). Bulky cardigans are not for us. A belted low rise does not serve the same purpose as a pendant. The former makes us look wide, the latter elongates. V necks work wonders. Cardigans that flare are good no matter what's in style. I am not letting go of my waterfall cardigan! I know it's bad form to advertize UA-cam channels in a comment on a UA-cam video, but there are lots out there with very good advice for different body shapes. I have found a lot of really good tips that way. I watch this channel for other reasons.
I can't find any bigger women with large breast influencers on UA-cam. Everyone I watch always seems to be a very skinny woman. I used to watch a UA-camr who would make her own cloths, but never anything someone over a size 1 or 2 could wear. So I stopped watching her. Do you know of any good ones I can follow?
Yes the problem as others have commented is that everybody has different body types so not everybody can give up v-neck tshirts. I'm short and need that to elongate me. Crew neck tshirts make me look chunky and cut off. Same with big chunky sweaters though waterfall cardigans are very out of style so yes on some things and no on others.
Some people need to learn the difference between trend and style. A person's style is supposed to be help bring out the person's inner self and can be timeless while a trend doesn't last forever and isn't always good.
I appreciate these videos because I don’t have time to shop at the mall anymore. I feel so overwhelmed with styles and fashion and with your guide I feel less overwhelmed. I also find your recommendations help me look young and fresh, I also get tons of compliments when I wear your recommendations thank you boo!
This was a fun video (especially because it's presented in a way that won't "shame" anyone who still likes to wear the outdated styles). I'm 52 and thankful that I've never really been one to dive too deeply into trends. I have a 5'2" medium frame and I stick to what looks nice on my shape. I definitely need to stick to V-necks because they elongate me, and I love my riding boots..but also agree that we need to change the way in which we wear the classics. Updating the look with the times is a good thing. Have a great day, all.

We need to stop allowing people to tell us what is "in" and what is "out." Wear what makes you comfortable and confident. This habit of throwing out clothes every season is one created for us by the fashion industry. The only wardrobe expert anyone needs is themselves.
Agreed! I wear what looks good on my 5ft frame.
Wow, thanks. U r absolutely correct.
I agree!

V-necks are never out of style for women with larger chests. Looks so much more flattering than higher necklines.
I swear I just had this thought. They are a staple for me. Whew I'm not crazy lol
Hear hear! V-necks are a must if you are a busty woman of a certain age. Crew necks and turtlenecks just emphasize the amount of distance between my head and my boobs.
you are sooo right, there!!!👍👍👍
As a woman with a slightly smaller chest I have to admit that I also love a V-neck shirt 😀 It makes me feel so perfectly balanced between stylish and cool :')
V necks are a must for me. Crew necks look awful on me.
Absolutely ! Dress for your shape will never go out!
Watching this video has taught me what a water fall cardigan is.they are out of fashion and I didn't know what they were!
Absolutely!
Leopard print is classic. At least in my wardrobe it is.

OMG, you’re killing me with the v-neck t-shirts! They’re way cooler & more flattering than round or scoop neck. I’ll just be tacky. 🤪😂
Depends on your body type. Crew or scoop look better on a soft dramatic frame.
A V-neck (not super deep) is ALWAYS more flattering on a larger bust. Crew necks make your boobs look like a “uniboob” and way too large! Smaller busts can be flattered by either style.
@@KODoch48 Im small enough for a round neck. What I hate are the shirts that are way too tight under the neck. But like a nice man's t shirt is fine.

And at a costly price tag.
Ponchos in the 70's are now referred to as capes. Clogs were a must back then but I'd probably kill myself wearing them now, lol.

I’m still going to wear almond toe boots and booties. Way more comfortable than pointy boots!
If you size up, pointy/ square toes are just as comfortable! Especially if you add some dr. Sholl’s
Mi podiatrist do not recommend them because they imprison the foot and create bunions. Let the feet stay confortable.
@@katie-allen If you need to size up footwear it means you didn't choose the right size the first time (athletic footwear excluded).

I think the lesson I took away from that now that I am well over 40 is the most stylish thing of all is to wear what flatters you and makes you feel great. xoxo

(Perhaps rotate/store certain items b/c, best believe, they’ll be back in 3-5 years)
Exactly 💯 these videos are toxic ASF 🥴

I agree with you too!
Agree with you!
Skinny jeans & flats are classic. I don’t think that’s going anywhere. Same with riding boots, but to each his own.
Just keep wearing them... If it works for you then it works for you.
I'm right there with you...
@@MollyT119 yes, this is exactly what Petite Dressing indicates. Chi indicates that longline cardigans are better and less detail around the chest.
The infinity scarf is very comfortable.
Once you have it on who knows what kind of scarf you have on.
Same with the long necklaces- they break up a "large area"
I have a short neck so v necks are my go to. They elongate the look of my neck. Also big "girls " so in or out of style I'm wearing v necks.

@@marisaexplainsitall7767 yeah I don’t think it’s a trend. It’s a classic neckline. Never goes out of style.
V necks should never go out of style. That's just silly.
Leopard print is another classic for me.
Wear what makes you feel confident-not what is trendy. Confidence never goes out of style.
Amen
Lol this is so funny because several fashion influencers I follow on Instagram are saying ballet flats and riding boots are back, baby! Just wear whatever, we’re in a trend less age.
V neck t shirts are always classic for bigger busts!
Right after you said skinny jeans and flats were out, you showed an " in style" picture of a women in skinny jeans and leopard flats...
If v-neck tees are out of style I'm in big trouble 🤣
V-necks will never go out of style.. that’s the one I disagreed with. People wear different necklines depending on their body shape and what works for them. V-necks are a classic, so don’t worry 😊
Yes. I thought that one was just silly 😂
Skinny jeans with ballerina flats is my everyday uniform 😂
Love it!
(Also just decided to ONLY buy V-neck t-shirts.. now I realize why they are so hard to find! Will keep buying them through..)
Hard to find because so many of us are buying them. We know what looks good on our body shape.
I totally agree with Holly. I have a large chest and the V necks will always be my favorite.
It’s like you went into my closet and got inspiration for a “what not to wear” video. 😂
🙊😅
I'm 72 and buy high end a lot of the time! Just wondering if all these "going out" styles are your opinion? The websites, from which I buy show a lot of what's going out! There are classics that will forever, be classic!
Please listen to shea and donate all your boots ,short and tall to goodwill so I can buy them cheap .I love all the boots so much!
Seems like the cowgirl boot has taken over in popularity lately.
OK anybody that’s oversized two that belts their scarf around their waist is going to look incredibly rotund
It helps to know yr body type so you’ll know what looks good on you.
Trends come & go but Classic style clothes never go out of style.
V neck tshirts are a classic for large chested women like me. Thumbs down on that one Shae. Lol
I don’t know y’all hating on this vid. She’s sharing her opinions on what’s in & out. Not telling you what you can and can’t wear 😭
The comments are so deranged, she very clearly explains this is what she thinks is in, and she talks about selling or donating what you don't want
V-neck t-shirts are a must for those of us with broad, squared off shoulder and larger chests. We can’t wear a neckline that goes all the way up. It makes us look much heavier/bigger than we really are. We need to break it up by revealing a little skin in the neckline.
Waterfall Cardigans are a must. Cannot live without them
We’re supposed to take fashion advice from someone wearing a spring top and spring makeup in late fall, and who, quite frankly, looks extremely outdated herself? Nah.
What about ways to style out of trend pieces to be modern?
If I like, I’m wearing it. The end.
Shea .. here's an idea for a future video .. how bout asking average-men-on-the-streets what THEY consider attractive/in/out of style on women?!
I have always despised skinny jeans! No problem with that one, lol.
I think caring about what others think re what you wear is overrated. If you like it, it's cute, it's you, wear it!
I think some of my things are outdated. I’ve just worn them too long, so I would like some recommendations. If that doesn’t apply to you, why are you even here. To gripe?
@@melissavaldez7492 Yes cus this BS is toxic
Curls with straight ends? Lovely now. In ten years? The equivalent of crispy bangs. It's a moment. Enjoy the moment.
You’re gorgeous!
@@HollyL56thanks girl! So are you 🥰
Franca, fellow apple here (+ short).
She is a skinny Caucasian woman. 😂 Why not follow someone who looks more like you? There are millions of influencers out there.
I think trends are stupid... wear what you want. Wear what makes you feel beautiful and comfortable.
V neck is slimming and will never go out of style.
Sorry but I only look and feel good in v neck tshirts crew necks make me look shorter ,but I do agree with some of the others
Those enormous cardigans are not going to be happening in my wardrobe! 😱🤯
Congratulations,👉👉you win, telegram me to claim your prize ☝️
I say …if you love what you wear then wear it! Not everyone can afford to change styles all the time …how ever this is great to know of what’s in and what’s out 😊
I agree with almost.everything. I do think v necks are based on personal style and classic. I absolutely adore you. Your energy and humor is appreciated. Keep up the great work. Your beautiful!!
I like to wear what makes me feel great… I do not care what is in or out. All these clothes are wearable. Many of us don’t have the funds to just get rid of clothes because they are deemed “out’…
oh yikes the belt with the scarf is definitely not in style
most of the trend is okay, but V neck tshirt and animal print I still love it.
