Watch this every year at least once, just a fun viewing. I wasn't blown away in theaters because of the Matrix, but still walked out really enjoying it back then. Damn I'm getting old, F you Adam, haha
I used to watch this movie all the time with my best friend. I remember the first time we wanted to rent it at a blockbuster, it had the axe scene on the back cover and to convince my friend's mom that it wasn't that violent we said 'no but they are just training there...' lol
Fun over the top movie. Does have a really cool concept. If Christopher Nolan had directed this Jet Li movie it could have ended up being the greatest movie of all time.
Adam, sometimes I feel like we’re on the same moviegoer wave length. I loved this movie. I’ve told so many people that this is one of my favorite endings to a movie. I’d be rich if I got paid for everytime I’ve said “My name is Yulaw! And I…am nobodies bitch. I don’t need to know you, you need only know me!” Then proceed to kick everyone’s ass on the planet. Great film. I’m a little disappointed you didn’t make fun of, or at least mention Jason Stathom having hair. Lol.
Love this film 😁 first developed my crush on Jet in this 🥰 it’s fun, utilizes its concept well, knows what it is, stays in the pocket and doesn’t overstay its welcome ♥️
Honestly I have a soft spot for the film. I really liked the Sci-Fi concept where your self-power is equally split across the multiverse. And can’t forget the rocking soundtracks.
I disagree with Adam on one point. The music was great and it made the movie so much better. It fits perfectly - it's just as juvenile as the film itself but amps up the fun - and testosterone - to 11. Loved jamming out while Jet Li knocks heads together.
I remember this not being so good when it came out but have recently rewatched it and had such a great time. A Dean Norris cameo is always appreciated also Jason Statham with actual hair
Lately I've been binge watching Scott Adkins movies, there's a lot of them for free online. I was a little late to the party, I only heard of him about a year ago, and it seems like he's still a bit lesser known than he deserves to be. This has nothing to do with Jet Li, or The One, other than if you're a fan of Jet Li you would probably be a fan of Scott Adkins too.
Li is almost 60 years of age and he can still kick behind. Li actually always seems like a nice down to Earth guy to me, sort it like a Jackie Chan. Both of those guys are very known in USA, but they are mega mega star like a Tom Cruise or Johnson in China. Jack Black once told a story that he met Chan in China and his celebrity status made Black look like a nothing. FYI I love Black.I am sure it is the same with Li. Have to love all of them.
I actually watched this movie in theaters as a young adolescent and having liked it! It's also my music introduction to Papa Roach as well as Drowning Pool at that time. 😁 I still recall my mother (yes, seriously) talking to me about learning martial arts, during its final fight in the third act which remains a good memory of mine to this day. That moment and scene I would never forget. 😉 Anyway, another great movie review, Adam! 😎👍
"The One: Part 12 - it's a girl this time!" -yea I think we're good, for once Hollywood left a good idea alone and didn't beat it until it was dead 5 times over.
@@AdamDoesMovies The way the movie ends, I was sure that they were going to do the classic sequel formula. There's a new person looking to be the one so both good/bad Jet Lee have to come together to face this new threat. Maybe a sad origin story for the evil Jet Lee to show that he wasn't evil after all, just misunderstood. Maybe the evil Jet Lee even sacrifices himself and Good Jet Lee becomes the one to defeat this new villain.
Nice, also good for reviewing the one movie always respect it and too me as well. Because it’s apart of my religiously which means im here too dedicate jet li’s movie too and his life as well etc. Also, still one of my favourite films this year and the best film i’ve ever had in my life too. Also, i love to do the one everyday and make it for fun as well. Also, i am here too dedicate jet li’s movie as well. 😀💙🖤
The One: An objectively bad movie that I loved for some reason lol. It's definitely a product of its time, but who cares, right? *cut to screaming I STAND ALONE*
I’m beginning to understand more in depth on the Multiverse tale after watching Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse, Across the Spider-verse and No Way Home as well as The Flash with Ezra Miller and the CW series with Grant Gustin…..
Hey Adam any chance you're going to re-upload some more The Cringe vids even if it's just for Patreon?, I was wanting to rewatch the Avengers Infinity War trailer 1 reaction by Khaleesi's Grime 82 and couldn't find it anywhere. Also the nu metal covers for this review kicks ass, was lmao.
You stated that this movie was made in the 90s... that was incorrect, a simple Google search will show that it was released I'm 2001. I remember watching it in theaters when I was 11 years old.
I thought I was correct when I filmed so the simple Google search didn't seem needed. That said, I have the correct date in the description, not that it really has any real bearing on the review.
I beg to differ it is an awesome movie. A unique movie that mix Sci Fi and Martial Arts, I wish we have something even close to this today 99.99 of the movies today are all woke crap.
@@AdamDoesMovies But you said you think it is not a good movie. It won't win a Oscar (Which a sign for very very bad quality today) and it is no Shakespeare but it is a great movie for its genre.

I hear you. It sucks because we are going to be considered "old" now for potentially the next 50 years. Stupid society!!
"I'm nobodies bitch , you are MINE." * fights to Papa roach * classic 👌 👏 lol
I came into this video knowing there would be reenactments; oh boy are there! Great video and yes a truly bonkers-yet-great movie!
I just rewatched this last month. Classic

This film is actually one of my favorite Guilty Pleasures ✍️
James Wan is the director of Conjuring and Aquaman.
Correct. James Wong directed this
Fun over the top movie. Does have a really cool concept. If Christopher Nolan had directed this Jet Li movie it could have ended up being the greatest movie of all time.
Big true
The classic 90s metal medley at the end is enough to get me to check this movie out! 😂

You must of loved Everything Everywhere All At Once.
@@anubusx I watched it, but I felt the third act was a bit bloated. Far better than what mcu and disney are making these days though.
Facts. It's a deep concept

Great stuff, I didn't remember this film until I started seeing your action sequences and then it all came flooding back
I JUST found your channel and already I am a fan and have subscribed. Your delivery of comedic commentary is perfect!
Thank you!

I would recommend Donnie Yen if you've never heard of him. The dude is crazy
Adkins is awesome and even had a brief appearance in Jet Li’s Unleashed.
The opening is the best part lol 😆

Great review!!
Total guilty pleasure of mine. I remember seeing this and monsters Inc. The same night at the movie theaters
If you want to see the best of Jet Li, watch: Fearless, Unleashed, Fist of Legend, and Once Upon A Time In China
This was my joint back in the day!!!!!

Man I haven't seen this one is so long, time to give it another viewing! You got me pumped for some Jet Li on Jet Li acction!
Ah... Back when movies were good. It has the right action, rock music, a short run time... GODSMACK!!!
An underrated premise. Surprised that the didn't milk multiple sequels out of it.
It is a pretty cool premise that they barely scratched the surface on. Shame!

Going from The One to Dragon Ball Evolution... Talk about committing career suicide.
Well I might even be your first comment on this one too what an honor..
Good vs Evil, cycle vs line. The first movie I watched in DVD
The One: An objectively bad movie that I loved for some reason lol. It's definitely a product of its time, but who cares, right? *cut to screaming I STAND ALONE*
Amen. Love. That is all.
Oh man thank you for the trip down memory lane! I too loved this movie even though I knew it was pretty bad! It really is fun! Lol
Should revisit this movie too.
Hilarious video I love it! Is there anyway I can purchase the strong female lead shirt you wear in your cringe videos??
I had it for sale on the store before but not at this time. I'm going to be reworking things and getting new shirts up! Thanks for asking.
@@AdamDoesMovies no worries thank you :) have a great day!
Nice movie, but it didn't came in the 90's it was release in 2001
I put the year it released in the description. I caught that after the fact. My bad!
The first vcd I bought with my own pocket money . So enjoyable😁

those 2 papa roach songs were used exactly when they need to be though.
CUT MY LIFE INTO PIECES
Everything Everywhere all at once definitely could have used more Drowning Pool.
Late 90s early 2000s classic rewatch thus movie once a year to remind myself that it's a real movie
I've always said that this is a perfect movie for a remake. The concept is great but the movie is just ok
Everything Everywhere All At Once.
I love this damn movie. I do wish it was longer and they did dive into things. And the movie was from 2001 not the 90's.

Agree 100%. This is not a good movie, and I was thoroughly entertained
One of the worst soundtracks in history
