I own both the PSVR and the Rift. The better VR experience is on PC bar none. The picture quality is far better, there are more games , and the Rift has the best VR motion controls of the lot for now. The move controllers just don't hack it for VR. There fine for just wave shooters or a game where you dont move around but Sony needs better motion controls.
sounds like you have motion sickness issues it may pass with more time otherwise try Dramamine. I'm lucky I have 0 issue with motion sickness only problem I get is eye strain after 1.5 to 2 hours and a 10 minute brake usually fixes that.
Yeah I would agree the PSVR is a bit more comfortable as in I notice it less on my face then the Rift though thats not to say the Rift is uncomfortable I just feel it more. Though I had a lot more issues with fogging on the PSVR then the Rift. I'm not sure what you mean by motion wise.
Yuk Foo true that, my ex loved Nintendo and played the switch with her all the time. Oh and she loved gta5. The sadistic smile on her face when she ran over people 😂
I play alot of games and my steph sister and her boyfriend plays videogames and my stepbrother plays a little and my sister don,t care about videogames my parents also dont play
I have the VR for my standard PS4 and I don't think it's garbage. RE7 was the only game that had a weird grainy texture, but everything else plays good. I won't be buying a Pro because I don't even have a 4K TV. I still think it's worth the money without buying a new console.
If you play a lot of games that support boost mode or performance selection (prioritize graphics, resolution, or framerate), you'd benefit a lot from a PS4 pro upgrade. Even without a 4k TV.
Johnny Miller pro upscales though it looks amazing! even older games like infamous or until dawn ... trust me i was shocked how good it looked on 1080p and we have a launch ps4 to compare it to
Man now I gotta buy one. You helped me make my decision, if you like it I know I will cause I've been watching for almost 2 years now and I pretty much agree with your opinion on almost everything. Thanks Rev!
Also: Skyrim gave me a Major headache each time I played. I got sweatty and felt sick in my Stomach. Barely a Week later, playing VR Daily, I Feel almost nothing. I can Play psvr for Like 5 hours straight and then it Become a Problem, but thats normal I guess. So If you Feel Like man I get sick all the time I want to get rid of this shit...give it a Couple Days or a Week or two. For me it got better.
For some reason, Here They Lie is the only game that gave me VR sickness. I could find the perfect turning in RE7 but in Here They, no speed or view settings helped. I can't bring myself to play with the snapshot turning of degrees movement so it's either make or break there.
Awesome, man. Welcome to PSVR community. Hope to run into you on some multiplayer soon. Most important thing about PSVR. Check settings in EVERY game before you play. Most games you can put on smooth locomotion and smooth turning. Once you get used to controls... Arizona Sunshine especially gets amazing when you shut teleport off.
Play Gran Turismo in VR mode, It's like you're sitting in the actual car with the Dash board, Roof, and back seats it's INSANE!!!!! The Car Interior is fully detailed, and you and look out the driver's and passenger windows and see all the road objects as you pass by
Been playing VR for a couple of months now and have never experienced being nauseous or wanting to vomit. But I do agree with you, although VR isn't perfect by any means, it certainly has potential to be something great. I hope developers continue to support the format. An increase in resolution, framerate, and peripheral would really help. I remember playing first person shooters for the first time in 1997 (an Alien game) and I was getting severe motion sickness. I played to the point of almost vomiting. I hated the experience but I knew I liked the style of gameplay so I just pretty much played it off and on until my brain got use to it. I guess if you really want to get into a new gaming format, you just have to slowly train your brain to get accustom to it.
I only ever got sick in fast paced moving games like Wipeout.. Firewall didn't make me sick and I played that for 8 hours straight before only taking it off between matches, and now nothing bothers me anymore. Just takes time.. I usually just take 5 minute breaks every 20-30 minutes, so that helps too I'm sure.
Rev is one of the toughest critics out there for him to actually same something positive about the PSVR makes me want to take the plunge & i have been on the fence since launch. This might of been the kick i needed off the palings.
gezforce RE7, Wipeout Omega, Farpoint (need the gun, though) Arizona Sunshine, Moss, RushOfBlood, VR Worlds (for LondonHeist) Honestly, there’s a crap-ton of Games... we get between 2-5 new games a week. Which ones you like really depend on the players taste.
VR is just not ready, I had a rift and returned it..well sold on eBay and pretty much got most my money back. It’s a gimmick at this point. The screens suck...resolutions suck...and all the games are glorified tech demos. Until we get 4k per eye...so that’s gpus capable of running 8k games at high settings...vr will just be a toy. It is cool I will give it that but the tech and controls are NOT ready.
This is what it's like for me. During the day, I kinda forget how awesome VR is and start thinking maybe it's not that great, but every single time I put it on I'm blown away. Been owning this thing for 9 months now and it's still a new and exciting experience. I can't see a future where I'm not playing VR games in some shape or form. And this is just the beginning. The tech is evolving and getting better each day.
Rev somehow we knew no one pays you to say the stuff you say fam lmao nobody will ever questioned if you’re being paid to say anything and if they do they haven’t been subscribed to you very long lol. love what you do stay blessed stay good.
Yo I did the same thing, I was so ready to take it back but I just couldn't. I played the Raw Data demo like 20 times. Do not sleep in Ulta Wings, that game is so fun it makes you feel like you are flying
This video made my day! Always cool seeing people's reaction to vr. Love how the PSVR let's people without the headset on, see what you're doing. And your family's reactions, put a smile on my face. Ok Sir, you and and your family earned my follow!
I tried it at the Playstation Experience. A lot of the games were gimmicky, but there are some cool experiences. Try The Last Guardian VR. It's really short, but it's for the experience it's very cool. I think it's free on the Playstation store.
Thanks Rev for another honest/straight forward video. Haven’t tried VR yet. I heard it’s fantastic, but I refuse to pay for something that will make me sick. Skipping this one. You helped me made up my mind. Peace Rev.
You should see it on PC then man with actual one to one tracking , better resolution, and full room scale tracking.... Really fun stuff. I've had oculus since launch.
Sunny Frisch it really is compared to PC.... And not to mention you can super sample with a powerful PC and run at an even higher resolution to decrease aliasing even more.
Mitch H yeah, of course Oculus Rift and HTC Vive are more potent. But also more expensive. I bought the bundle at Days of Play for 250€. That‘s about 280US$. Good enough for me. Also the AIM Controller is awesome.
Sunny Frisch I agree the psVr can be great. I'm just comparing the two. Especially the tracking... Once you play with the oculus controllers and see completely perfect one to one tracking it's hard to go back.... The prices are really gone down especially on oculus as well.... That is of course if you already have a powerful PC which not everyone does, but I'm a big PC gamer for my multiplat games.
Mitch H Yes, prices have dropped on Rift as well, but PSVR is still cheaper, especially during the E3 special offers. Of course Rift is better, but „price to performance“ wise the PSVR is still pretty good. It‘s also the most sold VR System worldwide. There are also new Move controller with analog sticks planned, but you can use the PS3‘s Move Navigation Controller in the meantime. More and more shooters also support AIM, which basically like a full Dual Shock 4 Controller having every button of it, even the share button. I have a PC, but PSVR is good enough for me right now.
My wife just bought me PSVR for Father’s Day. It’s amazing ! Got sick as shit tho lol still feel out of it at the moment. Need to play RE7. That alone is worth 250.00 XB2 needs something like this when the tech is slightly better
I was going thru the comments to see if anyone else had suggested that. Wipeout is one of the best VR experiences out there and the developers managed to recreate the break neck speed experience without the nausea. Aside from Wipeout, 'must trys' include Super Hot, Star Wars VR Mission, Megaton Rainfall, Rez Infinite, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, amongst many others.
One thing that seems to work for most people who are having physical problems with their VR kit is to recalibrate your setup (eye distance etc.) and redo your Playstation eye alignment and make sure it's 5 feet away from where you're sitting. It's anecdotal, but I know 5 people who did this and solved their headache/stomach/physical problems.
Get that Farpoint with the aim controller. It's lit! Having a racing wheel makes Driveclub and GT sport freakin immersive as hell too. That rescue bot mission game coming out later this year along other good games.
Great video. I had the PSVR, I thought exactly the same. Awesome technology with loads of potential, but took it back after 6 months coz I felt I had seen what it had to offer. Totally recommend anyone to give it go thought and can't wait to see what the next gen of VR is like.
Great review man, so a couple things: - The move controller issue with no analog sticks, Sony secretly put in a patent for a new VR style controller that is supposedly tracks via Infrared instead of just lights (so more like the Vive) and it has an analog stick, trigger, all that. - The Aim controller is AMAZING like literally night and day difference for a VR experience. But it's definitely dependent on the game, Far Point was wonderful, and the game Firwall Zero hour is coming out that game is like a VR version of R6 Siege. You should definitely check that out. - With VR sickness, my fix was that your brain doesn't like it when it thinks you're moving but actually are not moving (kind of like getting car sick). As gay as this sounds, run/walk in place while you're moving, it really helped me personally. Think Ive been watching your vids since you started man I just love your no bullshit down to the point review style.
Solidrev yea man like your old hilarious ps3 skits haha I was a nerd in 10th grade now I got a wife and house and just got out of service after 6 years, and STILL rocking your show hahaha
Hey Rev! I subbed to you only a couple weeks ago. Great channel. As a big VR supporter, the best tip I can tell you to help improve the immersion is turning on smooth turning. So in RE7 instead of the incremental turning, it will turn just like any other game. Same for Skyrim. Also, look into Firewall: Zero Hour. It is one of the most anticipated PSVR games. It is a tactical 4v4 multiplayer shooter that uses the gun controller! Release date will be announced before the end of this month. Cheers
Never seen your channel before but I'll post this even though I'm a VR "nerd". Go try a Vive, a Rift or even a Windows MR headset for PC. They put the PSVR to shame. The difference is night and day. PSVR makes me ill (and a such I opted not to buy one) but never once been ill in my Vive. Costs more but worth every penny in my opinion.
@Solidrev First off, I bought mine from Best Buy, and they do not sell opened items unless they sell it as an open product. They are NOT GameStop or Walmart. That is just how the VR is packaged up, secondly, Welcome to the VR experience! Now, it's time for you to get into the most amazing Virtual Reality Horror experiences. If you liked the Resident Evil 7 experience you might want to try Paranormal Activity in VR, and if your into those games at all, you should try Until Dawn in regular 2D on your new Sony set in 4K with the PS4 Pro, and then the sequel called The Inpatient in VR! They were great games. Farpoint was also a fantastic FPS in VR with the shooter gun for PS4, and also Super Hot, but I can go on and on all day. I'm a huge 3D fan!. Don't forget that the VR headset passes as a portable little 3DTV set which plays any Stereoscopic 3D movie, so you can watch everything in 3D from Avatar and Pacific Rim, to the newest 3D movies from Marvel like Pacific Rim uprising that just literally came out like last week on 3D BluRay, and the outstanding Guardians of the Galaxy movies! One of the most amazing 3D movies is AnytMan and Resident Evil Afterlife through The Final Chapter. I personally LOVE the 3DTV for those movies, but if you don't want to wake the wife up on accident when she is snoozing, put on the VR headset with the earphones and watch it while laying down in bed comfortably. There is NOTHING like the 3D movies on BluRay disc, (and yes they seriously KILL the "flat-as-paper" 4K HDR stuff), and if you don't already own a 3DTV OLED LG set, or a 3D Panasonic plasma set, or a 3D LED set by Samsung or Sony etc.. then the VR headset on PS4 is the next best thing. I personally have like 200 or more 3D BluRay movies on disc, and like 170 or so Stereoscopic 3D games spanning across the PS3/XB360/ and PS4! It's amazing, and yes, the VR headset works on the PS3 and XBox One and the XBOne has backward compatibility, so playing Gears 3 on the VR headset in 3D is pretty cool! I personally like the PS3 games in 3D better, because there is like 15 times more of them, and the Exclusive games on PS3 just naturally look amazing in 3D, like Uncharted 3, Resistance 3, Gran Turismo 5 and 6, Socom 4, Shadow of the Colosuss/ICO Remaster, and Killzone 3, plus all those trilogy sets like the Jak and Daxter Trilogy, Prince of Persia Trilogy, Tomb Raider Trilogy, Tom Clancy Anthology etc. are some of the most amazing 3D experiences ever! But, if all your looking for is the PS4 VR games, the PS4 has over 100 of them and it grows monthly! It's amazing! Lastly, make SURE that your VR headset is the second gen model that has HDR pass through tech. So, test a game with HDR on it like God of War, even thought eh game is not in VR, you can still play anything on the VR headset like a portable tv set, and see if the game can be passed through the box to your HDTV set in HDR, if it DOES work in HDR then you have the newer model VR headset. If not, take it back and get one that does. Enjoy your PSVR experience! Oh EDIT: Don't forget DOOM FVR! It's short but simply badass! Also, EDIT 2: You talk about not liking regular 2D games anymore without the 3D, welcome to my world! Every since Sony gave us 3D games on the PS3 on 3DTV sets, NOTHING can replace that experience, and now games feel FLAT AS PAPER and I hate the feeling of them now. I keep going back to the PS3 for that 3D experience on PAcific Rim, Ridge Racer 7 3D, and so much more. The 10 or so 3D games on PS4 is just not enough, but I can't play games like Zombie Army Trilogy without the 3D on the PS4. I can't even imagine how XBone users can play that game without the 3D, even if they play it on the XBone X, it's not good without the 3D. Now you know exactly what I have been telling people for YEARS, without that 3D, once you experience it in games, it changes EVERYTHING! Play the older Call of Duty games in 3D, and see what I mean. Also, If your getting SICK in VR, or 3D, then you might like regular 3D Games on PS3 and PS4 better on a 3DTV set, and the reason is, you can usually turn DOWN the fucking 3D depth in most games, and you can use the lighter 3D glasses with your 3D set which is all you need. Once you turn the depth DOWN the like 15%, you still get GREAT depth, and then you can play it all day everyday, and never feel sick. That is a fact. Also, the 3D movies on a 3DTV set will NEVER make you sick. It's the DEPTH that makes you get headaches, and sickness. Once you get that set to something you like, then you wont feel that sickness any more. Also, IF Sony EVER gives us that depth control on the VR headsets, they will be so much better feeling, and we need to petition Sony to give us more Depth control and convergence controls etc.. and once they give us all the best settings for the VR headset and 3D settings on the PS4, then it will be 100% more comfortable on the eyes, and that's needed more than anything else. Oh, also sorry for the wall of text, I am still working on trying to say shit without having to edit things a million times to tone it down a bit, and still it winds up a huge ass wall of text people hate to read lol Subbed!
rumor is they're working on it. they will have analog nubs and the handles will have pressurized sensors for each of your fingers like a motorcycle grip so you will have the sensation of grabbing things within a game.
The nausea will always be an issue no matter how good it gets whenever there’s motion. When your brain is getting two different signals one saying it’s stationary, and another saying you’re moving, it triggers the bodies poison response. Thus the need to throw up. It’s an evolutionary trait we developed hundreds of thousands of years ago to detect bad food after eating. Once we can actually move, and additional haptics are integrated, VR will finally be ‘there.’ Until then, a lot of people will puke, but you can adjust as you train your brain. Glad the family enjoyed it. Don’t be so hard on yourself about talking. You do a great job. God bless.
I had really bad motion sickness after trying to play RE7 in VR the first time but I was convinced that it was the best way to play. I ended up taking Dramamine about an hour before a play session to stop the motion sickness. After a few days I guess I got my “VR legs” and I didn’t need the Dramamine any more. Completely worth it.
Hey Rev, I have the PSVR and I've done research on it. I remember reading somewhere that it is not recommended for children under 12 yrs old due to something that has to do with their undeveloped eyes or somethings. Look into man.
Rev, you probably already did this, but make sure you set the eye distance on vr in devices settings for each user, helps with the headaches, and dizzyness. Less eye strain too.
Solidrev I've been around, brotha. Just haven't been gaming much lately, so I've been a little quiet. Still watchin and up to date', though. You're still the best youtuber goin' here on the gaming tip. No homo.
Hey solidrev the best thing to do to avoid dizziness is the have an AC on or a fan directly on the body while playing. Your body is over heating due to not being used to the head set being that it covers the whole face and your mind believes the images are true. So cool air is useful when playing VR. You will start sweating due to the believability of what your seeing but your body doesn't. So try keeping a cool environment. Worked for me. Great video as always.
Solidrev we still gotta get ya back in the iron jungle(gym) though my brother. If your ever in Fl I manage a few gyms around here you are always welcome to come in and hit the weights etc. V.I.p. treatment of course
I've been seriously debating getting a VR and haven't heard any unbiased information till now. Thanks for the info cause you've finally helped me make my choice.
Bigdaddy Watt but don't it piss you off that they just haven't brought out an entire fighter assault Star Wars game still! Like you I was blown away with that demo and I just can't understand why EA hasn't done this considering it would probably help them retire because it would be the biggest selling game ever lol they are really missing a golden cow by not doing it. 😉👍
It’s pretty sick. I bought one last January and loved it. Despite how rough some games looked, it honestly feels like you’re IN there, so it didn’t matter. Pretty amazing, but I started getting motion sick allllll the damn time after a while. Skyrim is like my favourite game and I want to try it in VR but I don’t think I’ll be able to handle the motion sickness. Perhaps I’ll get another VR again one day. Also, it’s nice to see you being more open to new things, Rev lol
THE J-MAN first when you have motion sickness you should rest, dont try to play. About 4 5times you will able to play longer than before. Some games you should stand playing. That's how i reduce the motion sickness in VR.
That’s why a lot of games use a different movement system: controlling chess pawns, teleportation guns, overhead view, etc. Other than price, that is probably the biggest hurdle VR still has to iron out.
In RE7, You've got to adjust your turning speed in the options to bring down VR sickness. In most games that use the analog sticks you can find the sweet spot of movement in VR to remove or reduce the likelihood of VR sickness and it's different for everyone. Remember it's the analog turning speed.
dont listen to ppl who says its unhealthy its fine you just getting motion sickness like a lot of ppl am a pilot and in my begging i used to get motion sickness all the time i almost quit my training until i found some courses about motion sickness and how to get over stuff like this and it took me couple of months and i went straight back feeling so good up there, it's mostly about your body not syncing with your mind once you get over that you'r golden bro
VR is amazing, I heard so many people talk about how good it was blah, blah, but when I tried it everything made sense. You have to try it to understand, it puts you inside a game. That sounds simple, but when you're THERE it really makes all the difference.
Great seeing your family react to Vr! I’m so happy you decided to try it out. I wish more people would do so. This technology has incredible potential. It needs to be successful!
MAKE BREAKS At the first moment you feel the motion sicknes kick in - pause the game... Play easy/stationary games first. Never ever play games like eve valkyrie while standing. All you feel now is over if you get used to it. I miss this feeling sometimes. I mean think about it... if you go into a spaceship for real and turning upide down, do barellroll in space - Of corse it makes you sick. I had to really train this... Tips: Dont look with the eyes - look with your HEAD never ever stare the f*k straight ahead! Try tl switch OFF all the comfort settings (or on...). Yes all the things they build in to make people less motionsick - makes my stomack turn. Walking slowly like im drunk.. snapturning, tunnelvision, porting... Every person i know who gave it time has no problems anymore. NEVER EVER GO OVER THE POINT IF IT FEELS STRANGE IN YOUR SStomach (sry for my englisch)
I was a skeptic too. I played a few of those cheap arcade VR units and wasn't impressed but PSVR blew my mind. The first time I got inside the X-wing on SW Battlefront VR...I was speechless. You never want to play a space battle in SW any different. As you said...it's not "there" yet but the potential of VR devices is incredible. Why just play the game like a spectator and play as if you are right there. I say to everyone...don't write off VR until you give it an honest try.
I picked up the oculus rift for my pc and it's cool but i don't use it to much. it's just to much to set up with all the senors then running wires everywhere. I do want to try skyrim and fallout 4 in VR might get those now.
Thanks for sharing, was also upset with motion sickness before but two weeks later on stationary games I was over it, so many new things to experience here!
Man it's crazy how similar my experience was to yours. Was amazing, but I just got a little fed up with all the fuss. I actually did end up returning mine, but I think I'll buy it again at some point. I mean my mom who is sixty years old and has never played a game in her life, tried that VR Worlds deep sea diving thing and she was literally nearly in tears. She thought it was the coolest thing. So VR is definitely here to stay.
Seriously, one of the absolute best VR games right now is Wipeout Omega. It has 1440p resolution (downscaled to the headsets 1080p) even on a regular PS4 also with a good AA method. You'll never see anything cleaner. Plus, it's super fast paced, and fun, and with lots of comfort options. Also, RIGS is one of the best looking VR games and the most fun and intuitive. Great sports/multiplayer gameplay. Problem is you mostly play against bots. Same with EVE Valkyrie. Graphics aren't as good but EVE is fucking insanely fun. Highly recommend it. It puts that Call of Duty VR space thing to shame. There are some great free PS Plus PS VR games so hopefully you added em to your library when they were on PS Plus but Trackmania Turbo, and Bound. Both a lot of fun. The Battlefront X wing mission is great. Also, check out Rec Room. Also free. Guaranteed your kids will love that one too.
It appeared preowned, and if you ever bought a preowned system at gaamestop its' amazing the sticky shit that's on games and systems, you dont' want to touch that trash.
I actually bought the headset to replace the need for the TV so my wife can have the TV while I play my games! The VR part has become an added bonus which I enjoyed very much!
The concept of getting VR legs is like flight training maybe, the more you play the easier it becomes. There are also things you can do to make it easy on your self. 1: Reconfigure the VR headset to your own eye H&W. 2: Do not tighten the headset. (just let it sit on your head) *if you have over ear headphones this will secure the headset better.* 3: Drink ginger (tea) OR chew fresh ginger. (this will stop nausea) Recommended before you go into VR. 4: some games play are better if you stand up. (wont get as sick) I used to get sick after 30 min not I can be in VR for hours with no side effects.
Rev u better play Resident evil 7 and don't u damn close ur eyes either! Also one other great game which i believe is the scariest and better then Resident evil 7 is Paranormal Activity. This is by far the scariest shit i've ever played and was the best vr game on psvr in my opinion better then Resident evil, other than that Rush of Blood is so fun u'll luv that game man. I will admit most vr games on psvr suck but those are gems and remember u tried skyrim, wtf is that no offense?
NonsaGashus The StrayCat HTC Vive is running off the PC so the graphics and immersion are much better as well as motion tracking which PSVR doesn’t do. There are also a lot more VR games on the PC as well with open sauce development taking place. PSVR is an entry level headset the quality is not on par even with an Oculus there is a big difference.
Edmundo studios Motion tracking is great with PSVR. It’s literally just analog sticks that are missing. PSVR headsets are the fastest selling headsets. Currently approaching 3 mil in their second year... there’s a reason for that. The only people who hate on it are people who never tried it and PC Warriors. You seem like you might fit into both categories.
NonsaGashus The StrayCat PSVR doesn’t even support full motion tracking so you can’t walk around the room which obviously makes it a worse headset, plus the hardware is entry level with a much lower output resolution. It’s common knowledge if you do some research that the Vive has better hardware. Nice conspiracy theories btw I have PS4 Pro and PC.
The VR experience is good when the interface is done correctly.Motion sickness is a common thing in VR and your body processes sensory information from different sources. The challange is to overcome the clunky UI controls and blend motion with ingame weapon, gadgets, world interactions and communication with others synchronized in the game with you.
The Rift is for sure far superior in terms of resolution, but PSVR is wayyyyyyy more comfortable physically and motion-wise.
I pinned this comment so anybody with a PC can see, I don't care which version ppl try just so long as they try it
Yeah I would agree the PSVR is a bit more comfortable as in I notice it less on my face then the Rift though thats not to say the Rift is uncomfortable I just feel it more. Though I had a lot more issues with fogging on the PSVR then the Rift.
I'm not sure what you mean by motion wise.
Psvr has a higher refresh rate than the rift which helps with motion sickness.
I'm just impressed how you got a gaming family your a lucky man.
Yuk Foo true that, my ex loved Nintendo and played the switch with her all the time. Oh and she loved gta5. The sadistic smile on her face when she ran over people 😂

Johnny Miller the pro improves yur VR headset.
The point being its not garbage on the standard PS4 version, but Pro does make it better resolution wise.
You know its gonna be good video when rev pulls out his doctor gloves
Those are his Dexter gloves 😂
or nah. fuck he need those for?
Man now I gotta buy one. You helped me make my decision, if you like it I know I will cause I've been watching for almost 2 years now and I pretty much agree with your opinion on almost everything. Thanks Rev!
It's worth it for $250
I'm really looking forward to the next generation of VR. Higher resolution and low-latency wireless will improve things dramatically.
I bought psvr about a Week ago and I can recommend: Here they lie, Skyrim VR, Raw Data, Until Dawn Rush of blood, Eve Valkyrie, Farpoint, wipeout
Mind you, some of These need the Motion Controllers. Doesn't Matter If ps3/ps4 Version.
Also: Skyrim gave me a Major headache each time I played. I got sweatty and felt sick in my Stomach. Barely a Week later, playing VR Daily, I Feel almost nothing. Lydell Mitchell yeah it was crazy
Tough guy Solidrev over here talking about Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Toontown..😂
awesome movie
and a classic
Hey man that movie was something for its time though
SuperZombiepimp I know, I own it :p
Yeah, trying to push through vr sickness doesn't work. If you take a break and come back to it you do eventually get your vr legs.
crazy10bears try taking some ginger it helped me try and have some about 30-40 minutes before playing.
Exactly Skyrim VR used to make me sick but my VR legs are well intact now.
Do what this guy says, it works.
Minners71, good idea, I remember being instructed by the Nurse that ginger ale can be an effective antiemetic
This might of been the kick i needed off the palings.
gezforce If you can try it 1st if not $250 is a fair price
What must have titles do you recommend i should grab along with it?. I know i got a few free from PS+ library
gezforce I was most impressed with RE7 bro. Gran Turismo was good too
gezforce RE7, Wipeout Omega, Farpoint (need the gun, though) Arizona Sunshine, Moss, RushOfBlood, VR Worlds (for LondonHeist)
Honestly, there’s a crap-ton of Games... we get between 2-5 new games a week.
This man wearing surgical gloves lmao
You have to treat it with care and love ❤️
Best video you made all year! Hands down! This junk was funny!😂
glad you enjoyed
Nicholas Brewton This video made me a believer
Solidrev I'm not sure what kind of work you do but if it doesn't work out. You might want to become a VR salesman!
Sony is gonna stick with VR so itll get better with time hopefully.
Vonshell Morgan Handicap Reacts thank you sir
Solidrev you welcome rev bro
Yo I did the same thing, I was so ready to take it back but I just couldn't. I played the Raw Data demo like 20 times. Do not sleep in Ulta Wings, that game is so fun it makes you feel like you are flying
What a video. I skipped vr but your making me rethink that choice. Had lol when said I couldn't take it back after a few days boxed up ready.
Get it bro, only like $200 for the bundle, pro or not, get it
Trust me, it's WAY too early to say you "skipped" VR
This video made my day! Always cool seeing people's reaction to vr. Love how the PSVR let's people without the headset on, see what you're doing. And your family's reactions, put a smile on my face. Ok Sir, you and and your family earned my follow!
Nice video dude I’m looking into buying the psvr and you just made my findings satisfied, thank you and keep up the good work
Thanks
In Arizona Sunshine, and most other games, you can turn off teleportation and adjust turn speed.
Peace Rev.
Thanks preacher
You should see it on PC then man with actual one to one tracking , better resolution, and full room scale tracking.... Really fun stuff. I've had oculus since launch.
Mitch H Resolution is not that bad with a PS4 Pro, and Games enhanced for it.
That alone is worth 250.00
XB2 needs something like this when the tech is slightly better
Voodoo Rob get rush of blood also. Great game!
I'm waiting for dream to come before get psvr, building worlds and exploring them in vr would be a dream come true.
The more I think of it I’m always right you should trust your friend
Blaze -4K- 4k & VR that's it let's not get to carried away over here
Blaze I'd say you're 90% right... i bought Mass effect Andromeda on your hyped recommendation... game was trash. lol
gezforce lol 😂
gezforce exactly!
Lol he say I not taking back
Dude you gotta give wipeout Omega collection a try. You're gonna freak out.
Dreamskaype me to! Lol 👌👍
Fernando Valencia Cervera yeh wipe out is like holy shit this is soooo good!
Farpoint with the gun is amazing! I played for 6 hours straight!
Me too. Only VR game I have played for actual hours on end
Hey man really enjoy your videos! Keep it up, you’re one of the few who is 100% honest and informative, thanks for the content bro!
Thanks for watchin
Get that Farpoint with the aim controller. It's lit! Having a racing wheel makes Driveclub and GT sport freakin immersive as hell too. That rescue bot mission game coming out later this year along other good games.
Great video. I had the PSVR, I thought exactly the same. Awesome technology with loads of potential, but took it back after 6 months coz I felt I had seen what it had to offer. Totally recommend anyone to give it go thought and can't wait to see what the next gen of VR is like.
Great review man, so a couple things:
- The move controller issue with no analog sticks, Sony secretly put in a patent for a new VR style controller that is supposedly tracks via Infrared instead of just lights (so more like the Vive) and it has an analog stick, trigger, all that.
Thanks for the advice my man, def can see me walkin in place though lol since I started?? That's a looong time man appreciate the support
Solidrev yea man like your old hilarious ps3 skits haha I was a nerd in 10th grade now I got a wife and house and just got out of service after 6 years, and STILL rocking your show hahaha
Traded in my switch for one last night. Def the right decision. This is the future.
Damn it Rev, my impulse control is awful and now I want to buy one of these damn things.
Also,
EDIT 2: You talk about not liking regular 2D games anymore without the 3D, welcome to my world!
Oh, also sorry for the wall of text, I am still working on trying to say shit without having to edit things a million times to tone it down a bit, and still it winds up a huge ass wall of text people hate to read lol
Subbed!
they need to revise the move controllers
Stoshua yes they do
rumor is they're working on it. they will have analog nubs and the handles will have pressurized sensors for each of your fingers like a motorcycle grip so you will have the sensation of grabbing things within a game.
Budgie Cat, that would be awesome
God bless.
So many people who don't watch the video before commenting lmao.
Great video.
Blag Cog lol I noticed
I'm 18 and I've been watching you for a long time, you're like my second dad
Nice to hear your thoughts man, started watching your vids and this one earned my subscription 👍
Thanks
I had really bad motion sickness after trying to play RE7 in VR the first time but I was convinced that it was the best way to play. I ended up taking Dramamine about an hour before a play session to stop the motion sickness. After a few days I guess I got my “VR legs” and I didn’t need the Dramamine any more. Completely worth it.
Hey Rev, I have the PSVR and I've done research on it. I remember reading somewhere that it is not recommended for children under 12 yrs old due to something that has to do with their undeveloped eyes or somethings. Look into man.
My son is 11 and daughter is 12 so they are right there. I'll def look at it though
Rev, you probably already did this, but make sure you set the eye distance on vr in devices settings for each user, helps with the headaches, and dizzyness. Less eye strain too.
Damn! I really wanna try it now. I'll have to save some dough. The wifey was funny.
AgentMorgan2010 where ya been Kev!?
Solidrev I've been around, brotha. Just haven't been gaming much lately, so I've been a little quiet. Still watchin and up to date', though. You're still the best youtuber goin' here on the gaming tip. No homo.
AgentMorgan2010 you're the man. I appreciate that
Hey solidrev the best thing to do to avoid dizziness is the have an AC on or a fan directly on the body while playing. Your body is over heating due to not being used to the head set being that it covers the whole face and your mind believes the images are true. So cool air is useful when playing VR. You will start sweating due to the believability of what your seeing but your body doesn't. So try keeping a cool environment. Worked for me. Great video as always.
Thanks
Lovin the vids brother. Your one of the last realist ytubers left brother
appreciate that Jay
Solidrev we still gotta get ya back in the iron jungle(gym) though my brother. If your ever in Fl I manage a few gyms around here you are always welcome to come in and hit the weights etc. V.I.p. treatment of course
I've been seriously debating getting a VR and haven't heard any unbiased information till now. Thanks for the info cause you've finally helped me make my choice.
I see alot of myself in rev.... it’s scary
My god, this is one of the best videos I’ve seen. So funny and I just love your optimism and reaction towards vr 😍
play the battlefront demo getting into that xwing for the first time was amazing
The Eddie Valiant in Toon Town is a perfect metaphor. VR is The Truth. You can tell who’s never tried it: they’re the ones who talk shit about it
It’s pretty sick.
Some OTC motion sickness pills might help. :)
Love your reviews! You're underrated
Thanks
Solidrev no problem dude
Huge part of the immersion is a audio headset. The audio is 3d as well. It's really puts you in it even more
Plot Twist: Rev's right side is 100% African American 😶
LOL
I'm glad you came around to like it... I love my psvr man and I'm waiting for more old those re7 still games. Horror is perfect for vr. And driving!
Play London Heist. A demo is available on the psvr demo disc 1 in the PlayStation store. You should also checkout DOOM.
dont listen to ppl who says its unhealthy its fine you just getting motion sickness like a lot of ppl am a pilot and in my begging i used to get motion sickness all the time i almost quit my training until i found some courses about motion sickness and how to get over stuff like this and it took me couple of months and i went straight back feeling so good up there, it's mostly about your body not syncing with your mind once you get over that you'r golden bro
The G.O.A.T of UA-cam
lol you're too kind
You can change the teleport moving to free movement
Get the gun that comes with Farpoint and you will enjoy shooters better... That gun has the analogs on them.
Adam Karriem Playing Farpoint is a must anyway. Great game, good campaign, PvP, co-op... alotbof reaplability in that one.
NonsaGashus The StrayCat yeah it is... Once the aliens started flanking me, I was like "hold on... I'm not a VR Vet yet" lol
VR is amazing, I heard so many people talk about how good it was blah, blah, but when I tried it everything made sense. You have to try it to understand, it puts you inside a game. That sounds simple, but when you're THERE it really makes all the difference.
Gloves? What about the panties and Palmolive?
Great seeing your family react to Vr! I’m so happy you decided to try it out. I wish more people would do so. This technology has incredible potential. It needs to be successful!
Thank you sir. A real person actually reviewed this thing. Im down to try.
awesome video rev
Thanks
MAKE BREAKS
At the first moment you feel the motion sicknes kick in - pause the game...
Tips:
Dont look with the eyes - look with your HEAD
never ever stare the f*k straight ahead!
Try tl switch OFF all the comfort settings (or on...). Yes all the things they build in to make people less motionsick - makes my stomack turn.
Walking slowly like im drunk.. snapturning, tunnelvision, porting...
Every person i know who gave it time has no problems anymore.
NEVER EVER GO OVER THE POINT IF IT FEELS STRANGE IN YOUR SStomach
(sry for my englisch)
y u wearing Major Nelson’s white shiny glove lol
MorganaDays lmao i sub u like 8 months ago quality salt on your page lmfaooooo
Waiting on the PS VR2 review !!😮
is it me or does little rev sounds like atreus
Airao yeah it's super inconvenient
Trust me you don't want to try those
That bad? I'll just refund it if it's bad i guess just wanting to try it out
But you only have to set it up once, unless you move your sensors by accident.
don't have room for them to always sit out. so i have to put them up to get them out the way
Thanks for sharing, was also upset with motion sickness before but two weeks later on stationary games I was over it, so many new things to experience here!
Hahahahaha, he called him dildo controller. Review was great
Donut Ballz thanks
I have PsVR on regular ps4 and it looks great. Not bad at all.
Gloves? Who do you think you are Dexter?
Solid Snake shhhhh don't tell anyone
Probably the greatest PSVR review I've ever heard. Wonderfully articulated and the charismatic enthusiasm is unparalleled.
"Two face" lol
Lmao at you pressuring them into the house. I was just laughing so loud. I can see me saying that to my kids one day.
lol
I can’t un see the two face thing now
Adventures Of Metonymontanas well damn it lol
Why the heck you wearing gloves hahahahah
WeekendParty __ can’t trust what’s in these boxes
It appeared preowned, and if you ever bought a preowned system at gaamestop its' amazing the sticky shit that's on games and systems, you dont' want to touch that trash.
I actually bought the headset to replace the need for the TV so my wife can have the TV while I play my games! The VR part has become an added bonus which I enjoyed very much!
I skipped on VR. It's just not for me. 🙂
The concept of getting VR legs is like flight training maybe, the more you play the easier it becomes. There are also things you can do to make it easy on your self.
1: Reconfigure the VR headset to your own eye H&W.
2: Do not tighten the headset. (just let it sit on your head) *if you have over ear headphones this will secure the headset better.*
3: Drink ginger (tea) OR chew fresh ginger. (this will stop nausea) Recommended before you go into VR.
4: some games play are better if you stand up. (wont get as sick)
I used to get sick after 30 min not I can be in VR for hours with no side effects.
I will admit most vr games on psvr suck but those are gems and remember u tried skyrim, wtf is that no offense?
dude I played RE7 did you even watch lol played rush of blood too
aww, lol dude i wrote it as i reached mid point of video my bad man. none the less good video man! haha
Rev going all Major Nelson with the gloves for the unboxing.🤣
You know by next month you will have a HTC Vive to get the best VR experience
all current VR helmets suck
HTC has analogs... besides that... PSVR.
Man, you're starting to post a whole lot more and I'm glad. Your content is always good stuff.
Thanks man, I been off all week & plus it was E3 I go back to work mon so back to normal
Get wipeout omega collection. You’ll thank me later
The VR experience is good when the interface is done correctly.Motion sickness is a common thing in VR and your body processes sensory information from different sources. The challange is to overcome the clunky UI controls and blend motion with ingame weapon, gadgets, world interactions and communication with others synchronized in the game with you.
