Not counting Last of Us remastered of course but I still consider Last of Us to be a PS3 game. Very rare I enjoy a game this much but this one was a blast! I forgot to mention a few things but after 20 min of runnin my mouth it's hard to remember what you've covered and what you haven't. I do all these in mostly 1 take. SORRY for NO gameplay but I wasn't going to insult you or this game with the piss poor quality the PS4 Pro captures when HDR is turned on. HDR in this game is awesome too! It is beyond obvious that they made Jin purposely stoic, a man of few words, and at times without opinion. This allows the player to feel something, to make up their own mind about Jin, as this is an action-RPG. You can go this way, or you can have massive exposition by the protagonist ala Arthur Morgan or Geralt of Rivia, where you play as THAT character always. Its just a different take, and one that works here.
I thought his character fits well with what was going on in the game. Especially when he was talking to the older lady that his dad ended up falling for. It showed how ruthless he was becoming the ended up softening up when she passed away.

Ghost is my GOTY, period. From graphics to gameplay and story. Sucker Punch did an amazing job. Not to mention those graphics look freaking awesome, specially running on a PS4. The ending is so well done, beautiful ending my goodness! I have not stopped thinking about that ending all week, it’s made me think about life and death and family and friends so much. I get teary eyed every time I watch it again on UA-cam. And the music...10/10 GOTY for me, most definitely.

It's a 10/10 for me. As a fan of Kurosawa films and the samurai genre in general, this game nails it. The writing was too deep and mature for some reviewers and they didn't understand Jin's emotional control.
Amazing game I've put so many hours and still on act 2. Also the fast travel loading is crazy fast for an open world and a guy from sucker punch said they slowed it down just for the reading tips lol

They could work on some of the side missions where you have to track foot steps in almost every one. But overall it's really looking like it could be a top franchise if Sony builds up sucker punch.
Many of the missions consist of following an NPC on foot or horseback with dialogue, holding the right stick in one direction while the game follows along the direction of the NPC for you, investigating camps (footsteps, blood splatter, etc). Followed by getting ambushed/saving someone and the occasional 1v1 duel.

Keep up this style of game reviews! Regarding the game, yes it's an awesome cool game. Everything in the game is fantastic. The only thing that needs a fix is the camera angles during some of the combat where it's close quarters.

Mine too right there with TLOU remastered. Such an amazing game man! And i fully agree with the challenge rooms. An arena or a challenge mode was the first thing i thought when i mastered the combat! Fingers crossed for some updates!

It has some flaws, compared to TloU2 the animations are not as smooth, but this is minor stuff. Atmosphere, story, gameplay, world design are top notch. Can’t wait to replay this masterpiece on PS5 later this year, Sucker Punch deserve all the praise they get!

You know how in the beginning, Lord Adachi walks by himself to the beach into the Mongol army? They should have an arena mode where you do that as Jin just for pure sword fighting gameplay. It'd be fun, and it would fit into the story cuz at the end, you're cleaning out Tsushima island of Mongol forces.
A lot of people don’t do the side quest but they are some of the best I’ve seen in recent open world games really fleshes out jin and the other side characters

Dude I remember way back when you and your son were going over some games con thing like E3 and he was like Ghosts of Tsushima. It was the first time I heard anyone talk about it and I looked it up after that. It looked really cool and I found out about it because of one of your videos.
My favorite part was when they were playing Jin’s flashbacks with his uncle when you were playing more like the ghost, really did make me doubt my choices.

Just recently discovered your channel, absolutely LOVE and APPRECIATE and RESPECT your no bulls*** attitude towards gaming. I 100% agree with literally every single thing you said about this game. Since Japanese/Samurai/Ninja culture is my FAVORITE culture to immerse myself in with any type of media, I was completely enthralled with the story and how they handled the whole concept of "honor" vs getting the job DONE! One of my biggest gripes with games (and just storytelling in general) is when a character makes stupid decisions just to move the plot along. I loved Jin and ALWAYS agreed with the decisions he made to the point that I didn't even trust MYSELF to make that final decision. The gameplay has my favorite sword combat ever and probably my favorite melee combat PERIOD! I'm also holding out on playing it again until they add New Game + since I legitimately 100% the game and want all of my cosmetic stuff, if not all my bada** abilities and tools too. So I tried to play a game similar to Ghost of Tsushima (Shadow of Mordor) and I just COULDN'T! The movement is sooo clunky and the combat just doesn't have the variability that Ghost has. This game may have ruined other games for me. But I guess that's okay, because I would NEVER get sick of this game, especially with challenge rooms and a New Game +. For me It was just one of those games where I figured It would have a polarizing audience because of the genre. Basically decided to take a chance on It on release day and holy shit was I pleasantly surprised. This game is legit and I feel like more people need to experience It. Might just start letting my buddies borrow It so they can see for themselves.

I am still very curious if Ghosts of Tushima will pass God of War (2018) in terms of my favorite PS4 exclusive though. But, like I said, it looks exactly like my game - single-player, story focused, beautiful worlds, and deep combat and overall gameplay. No matter what, it's a palette cleanser after the disappointing dumpster fire that was the Last of Us 2. Probably the last PS4 exclusive I enjoyed a lott was Spiderman 2018, but it looks like Tushima may be exactly what I want in a game.
@@yobro6053 Absolutely. AC Brotherhood also did a fantastic job with its world, atmosphere, and soundtrack, but I do still prefer AC2 the most in the franchise. And Ezio himself is not the only really well-written character, as the supporting side cast are also extremely likeable and rememberable. The story is easily the best in the series as well. Speaking of TLOU2, AC2 does a revenge story way better than that game. It's plot and characters are all crafted with such good quality. I only believe the gameplay and side quest loop are what make this game a little dated, yet, I still don't mind it as much as other people do as I always felt the game, despite it's genuine repetitiveness, has some variety to it in it's gameplay and mission loop, so much so that I have replayed it (like I said) thousands of times (moreso for its story, characters, soundtrack, and world, but the point still stands that this is a damn good game that I recommend even platinuming along with the other 2 Ezio Trilogy AC games).

Already got my plat trophy, and it's not a chore to get. It's been a long long time since I enjoyed a game this much. It's not perfect and has a few bugs, but the good majorly cancels out the bad. They couldn't have picked a chose a better game for the last ps4 exclusive, just wish there was a NG+

It's weird that people don't complaints about tracking footprint in TW3 but did on GoT. Double standard much?
Many of the missions consist of following an NPC on foot or horseback with dialogue, holding the right stick in one direction while the game follows along the direction of the NPC for you, investigating camps (footsteps, blood splatter, etc). Followed by getting ambushed/saving someone and the occasional 1v1 duel.

I love how quick the loading is after dead or fast travel.

Regarding the game, yes it's an awesome cool game. Everything in the game is fantastic. The only thing that needs a fix is the camera angles during some of the combat where it's close quarters.

One of my favorite games of all time. I completed all unlocks, all side missions, I liberated all of Tsushima and I still wanted more. An amazing art of storytelling.
I had kinda written this game off, but after Solidrev thoughts (especially since he loved it more than God of War, my fav PS4 exclusive) I'm going to have to give it a try now.

After uncle said "when we take enemies life, we look at them in the eyes with honor & respect, only cowards strike from the shadow", since then I gave up ninjia style play and do this game like dark souls.
Mine too right there with TLOU remastered. Such an amazing game man! And i fully agree with the challenge rooms. An arena or a challenge mode was the first thing i thought when i mastered the combat! Fingers crossed for some updates!

Damn, where’s that full head of hair coming from? You’re not pulling an Elon Musk on us, are you 😁 I’m near the end of Act 2 and also love the game. It has some flaws, compared to TloU2 the animations are not as smooth, but this is minor stuff. Atmosphere, story, gameplay, world design are top notch. Can’t wait to replay this masterpiece on PS5 later this year, Sucker Punch deserve all the praise they get!

I’m 6 hours in and I’m kind of dreading seeing my uncle face to face again knowing he isn’t going to be impressed with the way I’ve been doing things. I feel like Jin is trading his soul for the freedom of his people. Great game so far. Keep up the great videos, Rev!

You know how in the beginning, Lord Adachi walks by himself to the beach into the Mongol army?
They should have an arena mode where you do that as Jin just for pure sword fighting gameplay.
It'd be fun, and it would fit into the story cuz at the end, you're cleaning out Tsushima island of Mongol forces.
About five hours in. Solid game, but I hear it gets better with more abilities.

Dude I remember way back when you and your son were going over some games con thing like E3 and he was like Ghosts of Tsushima. It was the first time I heard anyone talk about it and I looked it up after that. It looked really cool and I found out about it because of one of your videos.

Just recently discovered your channel, absolutely LOVE and APPRECIATE and RESPECT your no bulls*** attitude towards gaming. I 100% agree with literally every single thing you said about this game. Since Japanese/Samurai/Ninja culture is my FAVORITE culture to immerse myself in with any type of media, I was completely enthralled with the story and how they handled the whole concept of "honor" vs getting the job DONE! One of my biggest gripes with games (and just storytelling in general) is when a character makes stupid decisions just to move the plot along. I loved Jin and ALWAYS agreed with the decisions he made to the point that I didn't even trust MYSELF to make that final decision. The gameplay has my favorite sword combat ever and probably my favorite melee combat PERIOD! I'm also holding out on playing it again until they add New Game + since I legitimately 100% the game and want all of my cosmetic stuff, if not all my bada** abilities and tools too. So I tried to play a game similar to Ghost of Tsushima (Shadow of Mordor) and I just COULDN'T! The movement is sooo clunky and the combat just doesn't have the variability that Ghost has. This game may have ruined other games for me. But I guess that's okay, because I would NEVER get sick of this game, especially with challenge rooms and a New Game +. For me It was just one of those games where I figured It would have a polarizing audience because of the genre. Basically decided to take a chance on It on release day and holy shit was I pleasantly surprised. This game is legit and I feel like more people need to experience It. Might just start letting my buddies borrow It so they can see for themselves.

Same. I have been waiting for a samurai simulator forever. Not only is it a great game but a piece of art,which stands proudly among the great Samurai movies.

Ghost reminded me a lot of AC2 (my favorite AC).
@@maxmaxneolit same :). Sure, it's dated, but the story, characters, world, park-our traversing, and gameplay still hold up really well for its age. I am still very curious if Ghosts of Tushima will pass God of War (2018) in terms of my favorite PS4 exclusive though. But, like I said, it looks exactly like my game - single-player, story focused, beautiful worlds, and deep combat and overall gameplay. No matter what, it's a palette cleanser after the disappointing dumpster fire that was the Last of Us 2. Probably the last PS4 exclusive I enjoyed a lott was Spiderman 2018, but it looks like Tushima may be exactly what I want in a game.
The atmosphere and the ost of ac2 make is very special, Ezio is one gaming's best characters too.
@@yobro6053 Absolutely. AC Brotherhood also did a fantastic job with its world, atmosphere, and soundtrack, but I do still prefer AC2 the most in the franchise. And Ezio himself is not the only really well-written character, as the supporting side cast are also extremely likeable and rememberable. The story is easily the best in the series as well. Speaking of TLOU2, AC2 does a revenge story way better than that game. It's plot and characters are all crafted with such good quality. I only believe the gameplay and side quest loop are what make this game a little dated, yet, I still don't mind it as much as other people do as I always felt the game, despite it's genuine repetitiveness, has some variety to it in it's gameplay and mission loop, so much so that I have replayed it (like I said) thousands of times (moreso for its story, characters, soundtrack, and world, but the point still stands that this is a damn good game that I recommend even platinuming along with the other 2 Ezio Trilogy AC games).

Already got my plat trophy, and it's not a chore to get. It's been a long long time since I enjoyed a game this much. It's not perfect and has a few bugs, but the good majorly cancels out the bad. They couldn't have picked a chose a better game for the last ps4 exclusive, just wish there was a NG+
