Fantastic video. I loved that you did it on a home sewing machine with multi-directional feathers. Could you please show me how to make a folded plume. That's where the top of feather folds down on itself. I'm having trouble trying to do that. Thanks for such informative videos.
I am newbie to doodle quilting but fell in love with the feather design. I would like to know about what kind of thread one should use? CouldI practice on scrap fabric with interfacing on the back?
Paper! It can help develop 'muscle memory' as well as help you develop patterns and shapes that help you move around the quilt. Plenty of practice on quilts is great, but paper is cheaper. You can also use a drawing app, dry erase board, magnadoodle and more.
I want to try free.motion. I'm new to quilting but think I could get used to it. The only problem I'm having now is my foot keeps slipping off the pedal. I have poly neuropathy and don't feel the bottoms of my feet very well. I need to think of something that I can put my foot into with the pedal. Thank you. 😊
Fascinating and very informative and so relaxing too. You talk like we are best friends! Thank you.
Your feathers are beautiful! Thank you for the informative video!

Beautiful
Hi just learning here the art of quilting. What size stitch are you setting your machine at. I have a brother LX2500
What machine foot are you using please? Would it fit a Janome 8900?
How many stitches per inch do you recommend?
What machine are you using?
Stitched on a Janome 15000, with the QO free motion foot, Glide thread, and 80/20 batting.
When you say doodle, do you mean on paper or a quilt sandwich? I have trouble on the curves I lose my direction.

While it can be an adjustment, you may want to consider a machine with a stop/start button.
@@AmyQuilts That is a great idea. Thank you.
You might try using a knee pedal.
