    I love feathers and I liked how you created small feathers in the deepest part of the spine, gradually enlarging. It really breaks up the design over a long path. Thanks!

    I love, love, love your feathers, I'm been long arm quilting for 8 years and I've never mastered the bump bump feather. Being able to watch you do them is great, watching you has encouraged me to give it a try. Thank you for sharing.

    Fascinating to watch you! When continuing the border on the sides, how do you know that the vine waves are the same size as the ones on top? Do you measure and draw them before you put the quilt on the frame?

    I love it.... question what's up with the little flap..... just has me curious.... and are u going to sew that down?

    • @NataliaBonner
      @NataliaBonner  6 років тому

      I'm not, that's a flange that's often used in quiltmaking.

    • @suzisaintjames
      @suzisaintjames 6 років тому

      That little flap is called a "flange border" and it's supposed to flap in the wind. (But between you and me... that's the widest one I've ever seen. They usually run about 1/4" wide.) In the final frames of this video the flange looks very pretty, but it did look a bit unstable whilst she was quilting it. If it got wild after a few washings I'm sure it could get sewn down later. 💜🌞🌵

  • @suzisaintjames
    @suzisaintjames 6 років тому

    Just curious...after watching another of you feathered boarder videos, you stitched top down as you went.... However, on this boarder where you quilted the feathers from the center out... for the side borders... did you stich the from the top down or turn the quilt? 💜🌞🌵

    • @NataliaBonner
      @NataliaBonner  6 років тому

      I try to never turn a quilt unless it's absolutley necessary. I have not ever shown one on UA-cam that includes turing the quilt. :)

  • @lucygreenwald6655

    When you do the sides do you take the quilt off the frame and turn it?

    • @NataliaBonner
      @NataliaBonner  4 роки тому

      Absolutely! I've seen some of the most incredible quilting come from domestic machines. :)

    Why did you chose wool batting for this quilt?

    • @NataliaBonner

      I love wool batting! There's several reasons behind why I use the products that I do, but Quilters Dream Wool is a fabulous product and it gives me fabulous results. :)

    Hello Natalia. I’ve been watching you for quite a while now and have a question about your machine. Yesterday I visited a long arm shop that takes trade-ins and has a variety of new and used machines available. My intention was to trade in my current long arm in for a Gammill. However, the sales lady there showed me a variety of Gammill’s on the showroom floor that have oil underneath them; some only had drops. Two of them had actual puddles. There was also mention of several oiling sections after each bobbin change (my current machine only requires one). Is this really the situation with these machines?

    • @NataliaBonner
      @NataliaBonner  6 років тому

      Well, since I didn't see the machines and I'm not exactly sure the details I can't tell you a yes or no for sure. You do have to oil your machine, it's a machine and it does require oiling. I oil all of the places where oiling is required about every 8 hours of quilting, and I do prefer to oil my bobbin carrier each time I change bobbins. :) I've never had oil spots on the ground under them. Occasionally on the table, but I simply wipe it up with a clorox wipe.
