Minimalist Camp 2013 - How to make Char Cloth

I do not know of any other natural container that you can find in the bush, but as long as it is fireproof and air tight it should work.

You can make charred fabric using any natural fiber. you can also use aluminum foil as a container.

Certain methods of firemaking (like true flint and steel) Need to have char to catch the spark The char can be coal dust, cotton, plant pith etc.. as long as it has been "charred" (thus the name)

Bamboo will work.. I have also made char with no container.. by burning the material and then either burying it or just stepping on it

Besides aluminum or other metals, are you aware of another natural material that can be used? I have been told but have had not tried it yet, that bamboo can be used as a container. Thoughts? Dave? Anyone? LOL Have an awesome day.
