Tower Air Fryer 9L Dual Basket- How To Use And Review
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 вер 2024
- This is a 10 minute video of the Tower Dual Basket 9L air fryer- much like the Ninja one. It shows you how to use it, as it is a little confusing at first, and gives you my thoughts.
Let me know what you think- do you have one or want one? What do you cook in it?
Note this is also known as a Kalorik airfryer in some markets- same machine, different branding.
If the video is helpful to you and you give a donation for ‘Superthanks’ on UA-cam all those will be donated to charity, so thanks.
Thankyou so much for taking the trouble to make this video, I think you should be on the Tower payroll as you have simply and efficiently explained in a short time what Tower could not do with their instruction book. It is a great product and a useful addition to anyone's kitchen but spoilt by the lack of comprehensible instructions.
Thanks Julie, I asked Tower for some more items to review and comment on but unfortunately they’ve turned me down😞
@@wakeywarrior They are fools, then, because their documentation for this product is woeful. £100 at the moment from Amazon. Great product, just no instructions! So thanks for this!
@@philliplester1741 yes it’s a great machine, particularly for £100 it’s fantastic. Half of what I paid. The instructions could be a lot better- nearly 150k views of this video show this. Thanks for watching Phil.
Just got myself one of these, after thinking £250 for the Ninja was too expensive. Paying £100 at Argos was affordable.
As Julie and Philip have expressed, Tower's instructions are woeful. It's something new and will probably take me some time to familiarise myself with it. I've wanted one for ages and raring to try it. You've given me confidence to utilise it.
That's why I was delighted to find your very informative video, so thank you kindly for taking the time and effort to make the video; it is very much appreciated.
Subscribed and liked too. Good eating folks!😋 ...
@@emmyzemmy thanks for your great comment Emmy. I’m sure once you use it you will quickly get used to it- it’s a great machine and a bargain at £100.
THANK YOU SO MUCH, I HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING. HELPFUL ❤
Glad to assist Betty, hopefully you are up and running now.
Brilliant so much easier to understand than the booklet ..thank you
You're very welcome!
Phew!......so glad I found this.....had mine delivered today and as you say the instructions are useless. Was beginning to panic....lol....so thanks for this great review.
Good stuff Toni👍 Enjoy the fryer, it is great.
Thank you SO much for explaining this to us - we got this model a few days ago and as you say, shocking instructions BUT you have explained it all in such a brilliant and easy way I’m off to cook!!! Appreciate your help 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Glad to help Cara. Please subscribe and like the channel!
I bought this machine just before Christmas and was totally bewildered on how to use it.Your instructions have been so helpful. Thank you.
Great thanks Carol.
I agree until this review I was struggling to use it the same way twice
Home from the pub after 10 pints of stella and a double whiskey, i used this to cook me supper for the first time. Sausages in one drawer, chips in the other. Bish bash bosh, 20 minutes later, grub's up. I wasn't though by then i was fast asleep on the sofa. But because it's auto shut off, nothing gets burnt. The smoke alarm doesn't go off waking the missus up. Just warm it back up in the morning and that's breakfast sorted 😊 Happy days , brilliant piece of kit 👌
The instructions that come with it are truly woeful. I only discovered this video after I'd thrown it out.
Absolutely rubbish instructions
Your video is very helpful.
Thank you
Thanks Lynn glad it helped.
You have just changed my life!! Got one for Christmas, and could not for the life of me work it! So pulled out my old one 🙈😂 Very helpful tutorial, thank you!! 😁👌
Stacey it’s the first time it’s been said I’ve changed someone’s life!😂 Good one.👍
Great video well presented. As others said the Tower instruction book is as useful as a chocolate tea pot. One look at this and all became clear. Thanks for time and effort put into making it.
Thanks Tomie, very kind 👍
Thank you for this video. As you say the instructions are abysmal! I’m no techno phobe, but the manual isn’t very clear at all. I was trying to figure out if I could adjust the temperature and time without pressing a pre-set time, I now have my answer thanks to you.
Glad you found it useful. You are absolutely correct which is one reason I did the video so I’m glad that so quickly it has been a help 👍
I've just bought one. If you press & hold the time button it goes up in increments of 10 minutes. The instructions are terrible!
@@ahappystitcher4928 that’s true I worked that one out. Good product, instructions none existent!
Has anyone made bread in this? No instructions, very few recipes (unless you like chicken or chips, and I'm trying to lose weight 😉 ).
Thank you for the clip. It simplifies the confusing instructions.
You’ve just saved me returning my air fryer because I didn’t think it was working properly 😂. I did find by fluke that you have to hit a pre-set first 😂
Glad it saved you the hassle Adele.
Thanks for the video WW! I bought the same machine at Walmart in Toronto branded as a "Kalorik" but there is almost zero information online under that brand name. The deal $89CAD was too good to pass up. I wanted to try out an air fryer so I could use the gas oven less often. I would have taken it back if all it was doing for me was increasing my french fry (chip!) intake... but I made perfect salmon and squash and decided it's a keeper. The hype is well-warranted! Will check out your other vids, thanks again.
Interesting I’ll tag the video with that brand name. Glad it helped pal.
how has it been, thinking on grabbing one on clearance
Very helpful. thanks. I got mine for £130 from Argos on Black Friday.
You got a great deal Jon.
I'd like to echo what others have said and thank you for your clear and concise instructions. The written version that accompanied the Tower left me so confused about basic instructions, now I know exactly what to do, many thanks again 👍
You're very welcome Reagz.
Thank you much appreciated
Cheers Jerry.
Brilliant video, clear and concise instructions. The instructions that came with the Airfrier are dreadful.
Glad it helped Janet!
Can the loud beeping be turned off? It's so loud and wakes the house up.
@@MrSheephorse heck they must be fairly light sleepers? No unfortunately no way to do it, someone else asked that recently so you are not alone. Thanks for watching👍
Thankyou for your straightforward instructions. Very helpful
Glad it helped Kaye.
What a shining example of good technolgy with appalling instructions and controls more suited to a nuclear launch. Tower cannot possibly have tested this properly with new users or it would have been obvious the dog's breakfast of tiny control icons ,which must be pressed in the exact order ,needed urgent redesigning. Having been tempted to beat the thing to death with the nearest heavy object your video at least enabled me to cook a few chips which turned out not too bad. Thanks mate
Yes I agree it could be more user friendly but when you work it out and get used to it, it’s a great machine. Glad it helped David👍
The fact my video has had over 200,000 views and 2000 likes and hundreds of comments shows that perhaps Tower should re-write its instructions, or send me a cheque for saving hundreds being returned😂
Cheers for your simple instructions and review, I've literally just purchased this very one and I couldn't figure out how to set the temp and time. Didn't realise I would have to press a preset first. Thank you for your help.
Glad to help. Thanks Moses.
Thanks for doing what Tower havent. Amazes me how they can produce such poor manuals with a pointless handful of random recipes in the back.
It’s seems like a solid machine but my main gripe was as you mentioned having to press a preset first rather than just being able to select temp and time and then go. Yet they don’t mention that anywhere.
Glad it helped Russ.
Hi I've just bought a tower airfryer and your video is going to be a great help. My son knew how to work one but I would have been totally stumped trying to work out how to alter temperature and times. I've had a halogen oven for years, which I recently cracked the bowl and also an oven in my microwave, the airfryer just seemed a bit more complicated so thanks again. I look forward to experimenting with this.
@@sandraat2248 glad to help Sandra. Once you get used to it, it becomes quite easy.
Thank you for your video. I opened the instructions and thought wowzas!! They were so poor! This has really helped
Glad it helped Nicola!
Got mine yesterday. The instruction manual is as useful as a chocolate fireguard. I managed after 20 mins to work it out. Looked today at your video, you've made it a lot clearer for me, so I'm not faffing about the next time I use it.
Glad it helped Angel.
Thanks so much for this video. My mum was almost ready to send ours back thinking it was broken, but it was just the instructions that were a bit 'broken'. Thanks for the advice. It's much easier to use now.
Great news Alison.
Excellent video. Got one of these yesterday and agree that the instructions are pretty poor. You've explained it all brilliantly. Thanks for that 😀
Cheers Badger.
Thank you for your video - bought ours on Thurs and you are right manual is not user friendly. I have now subscribed to your other videos so thank you once again
Thanks Christine, roast chicken one is now up.
Hi! Thanks for this - leapt into the air fryer craze and bought one, and - as you say - the instructions are bollocks. Looked at a few reviews and yours was easily the most instructive, so many thanks. One thing - How do I grill with it? Can’t see a grill function per se…?
It’s all a grill. It’s basically a heating element with a power fan. Despite all the buttons and supposed modes- The only setting changes are how hot the element gets, and how long it cooks for. So to get more grilled appearance to food, keep it at higher end such as 200 degrees. Thanks for watching.
Nice that it’s quiet definitely a plus for me in a small flat. Thanks for the post very helpful 👍👌🙏
Glad to help
Had my ninja foodie less 18 months ago and it’s no longer working properly. Contacted Ninja who said there’s a problem with its internal wiring etc, but won’t do anything because it’s outside of their year guarantee. Things just aren’t built to last anymore (probably made in China) 🙄. Despite loving it when it worked, I won’t buy another Ninja now because I don’t believe in spending near on £300 for an item that doesn’t even last 2 years. Ordered the tower air fryer instead, cheaper and a 3 year guarantee.
Yeah this Tower is good for the money, people have got them for £100 or maybe less.
Can the beeeping be turned off on the Tower Air Fryer?
Thanks
@@MrSheephorse no not possible I’m afraid.
Cooked my first dinner in my new tower air fryer in it it was superb thanks for you r great tips on how to use it thankyou
Great to hear you are using it well Dawn👍
Big help that video . Mines there since May and I couldn’t be bothered reading instructions 😊
@@cathaldowdall7467 glad it helped Cathal. I notice the Airfryer seems very popular in the Republic, a huge number there have watched this video according to my stats.
Thankyou so much for this video ! I have just bought this air fryer and going to use it today, now I know how to use it. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 XxxxXxxx
Glad to be helpful Mrs Taylor, happy Christmas to you too.
Thank you, thank you...really fantastic explanations...so grateful to you 😊
Thanks for the nice comments.
As you say, the instructions are terrible and Tower should be shamed. Thank you so much
Cheers Sam.
I've just bought this from argos for £130.,I couldn't afford the Ninja so Tower it is, my hubby hates washing up so takes the plates out the bottom,he doesn't get air frying, but it still cooks great I bought some silicone trays to go in the large trays to cut down on washing up, the only thing I'm concerned about is cleaning when you have spitting from chicken? I did run a damp cloth over the top of the oven inside but will I damage the heating system or fan? Anyone had problems? Can I cover the chicken? Thanks ☺
No don’t cover it, it works like both a convention oven and grill so you’ll stop the heat hitting the food. Air also has to circulate and that’s why the trays in the bottom have holes in, so putting anything underneath will also effect efficiency. I’ve never cleaned inside mine and since I made the video I have been putting the drawers and trays in the dishwasher no issue.
Thank you, great tutorial. I’ve just bought one of these and yes I totally agree the instructions are pretty useless.
Glad it helped!
Thanks for doing this video. I already have a Halogen oven but decided to treat myself to a Tower vortex vision that has seen through drawers so can see what is cooking in the drawers just unboxed it, it looks confusing the reason for watching your video.
Glad I could help Susan !
Thank you, thank you. I was about to send it back to the shop, because I could't get it to work.
Glad you now don’t have to return it Betty.
Explained very well,,once you get used to it it’s rather easy, thanks
No problem Carolyn, glad it was useful.
WOW. Bought mine second hand. Read the instructions 4 times. It's currently sat by the back door on it's way to the local tip as I can't actually use it. Now I'll have another go - thanks!
Don’t take it to the tip Richard - get cooking! Thanks for watching.
Can I change temp or time during cooking without having to restart the process?
Yes I think so - press the basket number so it’s blinking then the temp adjustment.
Thank you for the video that was really helpful and I’m sure I will keep referring to this whilst I get used to using the air fryer.
Glad it helped.
Great video, really easy to follow. I got mine got £75 in a sale which I feel is fantastic value.
Wow £75 cheapest yet. A steal at this price I should buy a few for back ups. The instructions are crappy but the product is fantastic.
Yes good video thank you. Instructions tell you do not exceed the max fill line, but where is this line?
No idea I’ve never seen a line! Just fill it to a sensible level, remembering the more, say, chips in there it will need a few shakes and maybe 20 rather than 18 mins.
Thanks for the video mate. Just bought one of these and it says you don’t need to use the presets but I’m unable to merely choose temperature or cooking time manually.
I have to choose one of the presets and then adjust manually, but the manual does say that you don’t need to use the dryer that way. Any ideas?
Just use it like I show in the video Silver and forget the manual. Good luck👍
Thanks for this ! The smart finish was doing my head in, but you've made it easy. Mine is a different make, but looks and operates exactly the same.
Glad it helped metaldaduk.
Just purchased this air fryer 15 - 7 - 23 £100 Argos £20 cheaper than Tesco's 😊
Yes at £100 this is an absolute bargain.
I’ve just bought this airfryer and have noticed my controls look very dim compared to yours, do you think that’s a defect 🤔
Could be? Take it back for a replacement maybe?
Hello thankyou for helpful video , can you tell me how to cancel flashing preset .pressed in error but comes back flashing even after turning off and on again ,at the mains regards to you.
Not sure on that one Rufus, sounds maybe defective? It should go back to not flashing when turned off I’d have thought?
i purchased one with the see thru windows £150 so was pretty chuffed but i agree instructions were non existence took me roughly 1 hour to work all the functions out im now trying different cooking methods including baking
i did do fried eggs and toast oh and i would recomend getting the silicone baskets for it makes cleaning so much easy
I thought about the silicone baskets but I’m slightly worried it stops the air circulation underneath - any issues?
@wakeywarrior the silicone baskets *will* reduce the airflow. Another issue with them is, when you're cooking some greasy food (exactly when you'd want to use them!), instead of draining to the bottom of the drawer through the "crisper plate" holes, your food ends up swimming in the grease, absorbing it as it cooks. Exactly what one would want to avoid!
So, to my mind, while silicone baskets would help with washing the baskets, they'd do one no favours as regards his/hers healthier cooking.
Seems its worth waiting before you buy. Just bought one from Amazon. £99.
Oh yes they are incredible value nowadays.
ordered this air fryer a few days ago £150 with 20% off first order £130 , had a 4.5 litre single for about 3 years bought from asda for about £35 which just had two control knobs on it Temp and Time ,still works perfect but some of the dial numbers rubbed off over time so an excuse to upgrade it,, they are simply fantastic, joints of meat come out well better then the main oven, cheese on toast never been easier, do toast in a toaster put cheese on add into air fryer 2 mins check after 1 minute, just so simple.
Agree Master, since I have got it I’ve used it almost every day.
Just bought mi e direct from Tower £99.99 special offer this week
@@christineclark3686 Great bargain!
Thank you! Wow the instructions are bad, nothing tells you how to turn it in so thank you for explaining it!
You're welcome!
Hi mate! I’ve just bought this exact air fryer 2 days ago and I think the fan on the left side isn’t working. It is heating up but no noise coming from it
Are you sure the correct drawer is going? You can feel the air blowing out of the back exhaust on each side. It should be hot air. No hot air when it’s on, there’s something wrong. Good luck.
Thank you for this I cooked steak and chips but the steak was rare and I like them well done I couldn’t find out how to add extra time I ended up just eating the chips and peas lol I have subscribed thanks a lot😊
Always good to have a new subscriber, thanks Vonnie.
Great video, I'm a new user and haven't used mine yet but this will help me loads, thanks.
Glad to help John👍
Just got mine now. And I figured out how to use it by your video. Thanks. Do u ever add oil?
Hi, glad it helped. No I’ve never added oil, unless it is for potato’s or roast spuds, see my video on Parika roast mini potato’s. For most things I never bother.
Hiya I've just bought this air fryer and my display is really dull (can hardly see it) is there anything in the settings to brighten it up????
No it shouldn’t be that dull, unless you have bright sunshine on it? May be defective if not, should look like my video.
Thanks for the info, just bought one a couple of days ago, instructions to operate waste of time, so thanks for the video 👍
Glad it helped Elizabeth.
Thanks for the video. Tower owe you a fee 💷. Now shared with the rest of the family.
Awesome thank you!
Thank you for this as l was confused with manual settings.
No problem.
Thankyou for the easy explanation how to operate, the instructions were not very good
No problem Daphne
I got this for £60 off argos was down to £83 and used some nectar points happy with it so far
Wow absolute bargain at £83- I’m tempted to get another!
Brill video ty, we just bought this from Argos for £100 as the old air fryer fell apart.
Thanks Kumfy. Wow, £100? Absolute bargain now these, I’m tempted to get another.
Thanks. The instruction book is useless but you've solved the problem.
Thanks buddy👍 Glad it helped.
Thank you so much for the help, the instructions are abysmal! 😱😵
Thanks for the thanks Lorraine, makes doing the videos worthwhile!
Thanks a mill! Got it! What about the preheat function do you need it and how??
Never used any preheat, it’s just another button which switches it on.
Appreciate this video mate, it should be the official tower tutorial! Thank you ❤
Cheers Brad!
Been thinking about buying one of those you have made mine mind up thanks
Glad I helped you think it through😉
do i have to remove the rubber bits which are attached to the edge of the grill plates before cooking?
No they are silicone and meant to be left on to make an air gap under the plate.
Thanks so much for this .. had no idea how to do it manually without the preset menu .. can someone please tell me if you can use drawer 2 without drawer one ?
Yes just press 2 first then start it going as usual, and only 2 will heat up.
Just wondering do you put the thing at the bottom of the drawers at the very bottom or do you leave some space between it
It goes right on the bottom, the silicone corners keep it slightly off the bottom.
Does the air fryer need time to heat up to the desired temp before putting the food in or can you add the food as soon as you’ve selected the temp and time ?
No need to preheat. Put the food in before you start it.
Excellent mate 👍. I was getting very frustrated with the thing!
Glad I could help Paul.
Just watched this and it looks good, but how would you cook a pizza in one? I guess I could do that from frozen in the combi microwave, and then crisp it up afterwards in the air fryer, once it's easier to separate it.
Frozen pizza? Snap them in half and about 12 mins at full power (chip setting 200). Non frozen, fresh-I have a video check it out!
@@wakeywarrior Thanks very much for that. Just had a look at the video. I prefer mine ready-topped, but I know the end result will be the same 😁
Thank you so much kind sir. You have been great
@@kiarad1566 it’s a pleasure!
Currently on sale in Argos for £100 if you've been hesitant!
Yes it’s a bargain - I may get another!
Brilliant video thank so much .The instructions that came with the fryer is useless
Good one Rick- great to see the video helps people👍
Os there an actually roast function just did roasties - very white !!
No specific setting. If they are potatoes rather than frozen ones, make sure you have some oil on them and run at 200 c- as hot as possible.
I went to make a simple meal of cheese and toast and couldn't work it. Nothing would switch on. Came on here and now not a problem. Rubbish instructions. I'm going to let tower know my feelings. Thank you
Thank you for this, Tower should pay you for your help.
That would be cool Bernie, they said they’d send me stuff to review then said no, I was disappointed,
What setting do you use when your making burgers 😊?
I’d do a standard size burger on chip setting or maybe 180 degrees, for about 18 mins.
I watched this but didn't have the time to learn but I cooked my first roast chicken and ables and scones and thought it was going to be complicated! Simple and delicious especially the chicken and scones were better than cooking them in the oven. I will be watching this video to learn how to use both for cooking. Thanks.
@@davidlibline1757 Sounds like you have done great so far.
@wakeywarrior
Good afternoon and thank you. This weekend I will learn how to cook vegetables. Very glad I bought one at a big sale. I'll get around and learn how to use both baskets from your channel. 😀
Thanks, much more use than the booklet!
Glad it helped Peter.
does anyone know if you can turn the beeps off at all ? the only thing i don’t like about it 🤣
No you can’t Claudia.
Hi Thank you so much for your very helpful easy to follow video. I have purchased this is my elderly gas fan oven has packed up and I can not find anyone to fix it I have been very anxious about stating to use it as it looks so complicated on the digital control pane.
In just minutes you have reassured me that it is basically very simple to use when you know what all the buttons mean and do.I asked loads of people before buying this and did some research and this had good reviews, very similar to the Ninja, but so much cheaper.
I managed to get this for £94.95 from Amazon, Tesco also had Tower air Fryers on special offer recently for £79, not sure which model.
I have subscribed to your channel and hope you cover thing like what dishes etc to use in the Air Fryer.
We dont eat meat but do eat fish and make our own meat free burgers and othe meals, hoping we can use the air fryer to cook these.
Thanks again so much.
Will be keeping a close eye on yoyr chaneel

Hi Joy.
Thanks for your lovely post, I am glad to be of help.
I’ve got a few items on there being cooked in the air fryer and need to do more.
Check out the home made pizza- one of my favourites and very easy.
@@wakeywarrior I just love your name and I will be checking out more of your videos, tonight 16/05/24 , thanks to your wonderful approach demistifying these gadgets I will be attempting to cook home made chips and some frozen youngs lightly dusted fish, If I am feeling bold I may add some garlic cloves in with the fish and a few mushrooms. Thanks so much again for giving me the confidence to switch the machine on. One of your very helpful comments noted that actually an Air Fryer is just an electric fan oven. We have solar panels and battery storage , so this should be a no brainer for us.
PS the other very helpful tip was where to place the gadget as it blasts out hot air from the back, I dont want to melt my electric socket, such an important safety tip

Thank you so much for putting this video up. You have really explained it perfectly. Thank you again.
Thanks for the kind words Pepe.
Thanks for this, as you say the instructions are not the best to say the least. I would imagine thier helpdesk gets busy aswering questions on how to use from the less tecky folks 🙂 Thanks again Chicken wings tonight using 200'c 20 mins on Spatchcock lol Simple
Sounds like you now have it mastered John👍
thankyou very much just cooked my first portion of chips
Enjoy the chips.
Can you turn one zone basket on and turn off the other at the same time.
Yes totally independently controllable. Easiest way to turn one off is just pull it out a bit. But you can select that basket and press pause.
I bought mine from argos on a Black Friday deal for £120. But the instructions are terrible. That's so much for the video. I'm trying to work out how to bake, roast and use the other settings.
Another one who got a great deal then! Glad to be of help. I’ve some more videos coming of cooking chicken on it etc.

A fellow stitcher! I just got an air fryer, how are you finding it?
@@vixis Confusing. Seems all the buttons are all just presets. If you want to fry add oil. If not, then it will bake or roast depending on what you're cooking, is what I've deduced from the Tower airfyer Group on FB (which doesn't always seem to be a positive place 🙄)
Brilliant thank you ... well explained. X

Mr UA-cam man to the rescue. Thanks for watching Francis.
Mine wont turn on it just has tge red power button highlughted but nothing else.

Don't you have to pre heat before cooking?
No, I’ve never pre heated in once in around 18 months of owning it, this is where the energy savings come from.
Can buy one of these now from home hardware for £89.99
A bargain at that price Andrew.
Mate just told me to get one off these instead of the ninja duel said it's easier to use

Luck of the Irish at that price- bargain☘️
@@wakeywarrior I forgot to add a thank you, for your very useful instructions video 💚
I've literally just had this delivered. Can anyone help me please? The grill/frying parts that fit along the bottom of each drawer, do they have to stay in whatever is being cooked?
Don’t have to have them in but most will. It allows the air to get underneath for more even cooking.
