yea the girl who is gilgamesh master actually got gilgamesh interest and she has a actually good reason for joining the holy grail war her people were kicked out where the holy grail war is starting so her people wanted her as a master so she can get their land back but she never got a childhood so gilgamesh actually in a good mood due to enkidu gave her a potion of youth also isthar is in fake strange fake and she has the personality as she is using a homuclous blody which have no personality so she has the actual personality of ishtar instead of somewhat ishtar and rin like in babylonia also she was the one who stole ishtar noble phantasm from fgo
Fate-verse has always been said to be veeery grimdark, however we have only seen a little bit of that in
Fate/Zero.
We've seen a bit more of that in Heavens Feel. FGO however is way to happy go lucky, imagine if Shirou was confronted with Lostbelts, any resident who knows what the Chaldeans seeks to do should be mortal enemies.
Now we have Strange Fake, which truly explores the canon of what Nasuverse is supposed to be - a place with Dead Apostles and immoral mages, where even good guys walk the path of moral ambiguity.
Enkidu doesn't use the Gate of Babylon. They use Age of Babylon. It doesn't use pre-existing weapons like the Gate, instead it creates them from the ground using clay
What I love about Strange Fake is that it's basically a fanfic. In a good way of course. It takes the best parts of Nasuverse and faithfully plays with them. The author is such a fan of the whole world too and you can see it by how he talks about it in interviews or afterwords in the books. The story also mentions characters like Touko, Rin and even Emiya many times. I love the use of Zelretch too.
It probably helps that Narita and Nasu have been hanging out for a long while, and Narita helped with the creation of Fate.
Like I believe they did tabletop/rpg type stuff together a lot and etc. Narita even helped in the design of Enkidu.
That's why Strange Fake is what I consider the "Avengers" of the nasuverse, Narita is using everything that's been set up previously to create it.
Fate/Stay Night as a whole is a fanfic, if you really get into it.
One of my favorite things about Strange Fake is how unique the master-servant dynamics are. Like we got a police chief, Dead Apostle and a girl in coma as masters. It's so unique. I also love how the author utilizes a lot of the lore of the Nasuverse in ways that I feel like very few people (except for Nasu) are able to do.
The master-servant relationships really remind me of the relationships in prototype fragments !
The author throws a lot of references not only to fate, but the entire nasuverse and Type Moon Franchise as a whole
tbf, it's probably for the best that no other other tries because FSF while good is a huge shitshow of clashing like Apocrypha

7:57 small correction but enkidu doesn’t have GoB. Instead their noble phantasm is Age of Babylon and it’s actually the progenitor of Gate of Babylon.
Basically if gilgamesh never fought enkidu he never would have come up with the idea of shooting out all of his weapons like he does so now.
how are they complaining the character designs,when its LITERALLLY what the novels and manga look like?
Strange fake is actually a continuation to Heavens feel/UBW since in those timelines Rin takes part in dismantling the grail war system with Waver while in the original Fate route Waver does it with just the clocktower while Rin & Shirou did their own thing
There are several anecdotes regarding the writer, Ryougo Narita, and Nasu, and how the writer tries very, very hard to implement EVERY idea and concept that has been implemented in previous Fate content in some shape or form in Strange/Fake and tries his damnest to also make it cohesive.
Nasu has stressed *many times* to him that he doesn't need to do this, and that he can willingly change and make rules of his own which has been the norm for Type-Moon writers as a whole when lending its material for a new writer to play with. If anything, Nasu strongly recommends people to challenge the setting and create new and interesting concepts with it, which has led to ideas like Fate/Requiem, Koha-Ace, and Apocrypha. FGO, as a concept, is essentially this at its core, so imagining trying to cram wild ideas like using Concepts as Servants, Gods and Demigods, creating Alters, just the whole 9-yards into one story is *fucking insane.*
These animators really did an amazing job of adapting the art and style of strange fake. I’m so excited for the rest of the anime to come out, especially after seeing this episode 0.
Just the fact that monsters like enkidu, arthur and gilgamesh are there together is amazing, if you add interesting servants like the new assassin and jack the ripper it just adds to the hype for this series
It actually does not happen in the same timeline as fate/stay night but in an alternate timeline where the event of fate/stay night happen in a near identical way
But there are alot of concepts in strange fake that don't exist in fate/stay night and that's what gave it away
Not really, F/SF started in 2009 when both Fate and Tsukihime belonged to the same universe and timeline (afterall Nasu himself once said that F/SN starts right after Tsukihime ending). Unfortunately both franchises were split so Tsukihime continuity wouldn't limit future Fate writers (mainly those responsible for FGO).
So it used to be a sort of direct sequel until Nasu decided to split Tsukihime and Fate into two different timelines

I’m so excited for the full tv anime. If they don’t mess up the adaptation this could be amongst the best fate anime series. My only fear is the knowledge that this absolutely cannot be finished in a single season so we may be waiting a long time for the anime to be completed. Especially given that the light novels aren’t done yet either and we have no idea how long those will go.
They will likely messed up remember this is same A.I studio that did fate apocrypha
@@ThatFateGuy69 So like I understand reservations on all adaptations. But I will point out that A1 is a massive studio. They have as many high profile hits as misses cause their anime production is not any consistent team unlike say studio ufotable which despite huge hits doesn’t put out nearly the amount of output. A1 in my experience tends to do better the more budget is given to a show whereas if a show has smaller budget it can get relegated to a smaller or newer staff that do much much worse. It’s a coin flip with A1.
I’m cautiously optimistic though cause for 1 the episode they made was great. For another the team they got seem to understand how much weight is behind the project for fans. They also have a pretty big budget since FGO has been bankrolling the franchise across all media fronts for awhile now. And finally they literally can’t do the awful pacing thin from apocrypha cause the series isn’t even done yet in light novel form. They have active incentive to slow down and properly adapt it to avoid running out of source material before the light novel finishes.
I also think this special does one thing really, really well is that there are _No_ boring scenes at all.
No scene lasts longer than 5 seconds, and its usually using some form of movement either by the characters themselves, or the location, or the camera. Its not really a thing most people who watch it subbed will notice but if this gets A-tier ENG voice acting (Which I don't think the EN voice acting atm is close to B-tier at best imo) when you take away the subs to read, you really get to see how the scenes are composited and written and, sacrificing shading and some prettier things to allow just superb scene composition and movement scene-into-scene is a worthwhile sacrifice imo.
Its a style that's rarely seen even in big budget animations. Making sure there is a constant flow when animated rather than just focusing on making stills look nice just feels way better imo.

@SeaTactics it was validating seeing I wasn't the only one that noticed the choppy walk scene. I was having some cold ones at the time so I thought I may have been imagining it.
Also, notice how Enkidu is the only person Gilgamesh actually respects. When they fight he doesn't look down on him and shows him respect by not holding back his big attacks. It's a very cool FRIENDSHIP to analyze.
Babylonia was pretty underwhelming as whole though with only a few highlights here and there

Well adapting a new Type-moon related work is a hard job.
I think it's clear that you have a distaste for fate projects these last years but its really important that you note in moments like those that your opinion is completely subjective, because you really made it seem like they were bad to the point where you made it seem that fate has been objectively disappointing when it really isn't, just disappointing to you who clearly likes the darker themes of the series and hate it's departure from what made it great in your eyes, but it's departure from that does not equivocate to the series as of late being bad in any way
I think i can confidently say. Especially as a huge nasuverse fan myself that the last few fate releases have been mediocre at best. Adaptions that did no justice to the source material. Most fate fans would probably agree as the ratings on these projects have been terrible. Don't be discouraged if you enjoy it. I wish i could have enjoyed it as well. But as someone who has seen all the original source material like many other fans it was dissatisfying to see such a poor adaptation hopefully future adaptions (especially of fgo) are done properly. No hate towards you or your comment whatsoever just trying to show a side a lot of fate fans have felt as of recently due to careless adaptions.
Nah you can be subjective too, I think a lot of Fate anime is mediocre
@@Ji-Branbtw which bad adaptations are you talking about? Other than Camelot, Babylonia, Solomon and Extra I can't think of any recent non Ufotable adaptation. And the only one I think are meh to bad are Camelot and Extra.
@thegamerfe8751 heveans feel is a terrible adaption. Original stay night is a terrible adaption. All of the fgo adaptions bar Babylonia are awful as well. Extra isn't really an adaption so that isn't really an example. But most fate works are skewered heavily when made into anime. Way too much content is cut out or changed

All I'm gonna say about Enkidu and Gilgamesh is that: It ain't gay if it's clay.
I think the Anime medium is the last of their concerns. We care because it’s assessable to all us. Meanwhile Light Novels, Manga, and Especially FGO have racked in millions to billions for them, while Type-Moon has also been planning on releasing a new game Fate/Samurai Remnant, while also making Studio BB to make more projects. While there being talks of a Witch on a holy night sequel and more routes to Tsukihime. Just like Bleach just because there isn’t an anime out doesn’t mean an IP is struggling.
Also all type moon projects as of late have really strayed from Urban Mystery the series founded on. With them starting a war in an American City, and certain hero appearing on American television, it essentially a shit show from the side of mystery.
I understand that there was a really cringe phase of mecha a few years back, so Servants for a little while looked futuristic af, which was stupid, but I actually think they're slowly returning back to formula with some of the more recent titles and newer Servant designs. Type Redline, Samurai Remnant, Strange Fake, etc.
I definitely like the art style. It's better then Hells Paradise (I love Hells Paradise but the manga is so much better) I love the characters. The low level of shading gives a flare of color that I love!
The animation was intentional.. it fit the artstyle so well and its literally same character design from the manga, did u miss on something or what? The animation simple fit the artstyle and im happy for the team go with that direction.
You know that you are doing great if your franchise starts as a porn parody/joke of myths and legends and it is well received almost by everyone.
If that isn't an epic beginning idk what is.
My biggest fear is that Fate Strange Fake could easily end up like Fate Apoc just because they're alot master Just Fate Apoc had so expecting the characters to be interest will

I think the servants from Strange Fake are the most powerful if we discount GO.
I just love that there are 15 servants fighting rather than 7 and that MC's servant could summon several servants too lolololol
I hope this series focuses on the other characters and not just the protagonist, like Apocrypha did. Give us more layered characters and more interesting master-servant relationships.

Yeah strange fake is not the same as FSN timeline for one, FSN has 3 main timelines so its impossible for them to have a sequel that pulls from just one of them, and two, as strange fake goes on there will be references to Tsukihime's events. So its really a timeline that mixes fate and tsukihime's stories as a whole.
And this might just be me not getting it since I read the manga and novel but I dont understand why people are saying the character designs look abnormal considering thats what they've been for what feels like a decade now. But a lot of people I hear talking about this show seem to think its an anime original title so yeah that might just be me not getting it.

Lostbelt 6 is better than Fate Strange Fake story wise.
Strange Fake is my favorite Fate spinoff, I think it's considerably better than Fate/Zero and it's almost up there with the original VN for me. I liked the adaptation of the prologue they released, but they skipped some stuff that was pretty important and it was slightly rushed. I REALLY hope this gets a good adaptation. Since Stay Night and UBW weren't great adaptations, this COULD become the best Fate anime IF it's adapted well. However, Fate is cursed with bad adaptations so I'm not getting my hopes up
I’m exited for this, the manga is killer but man this adaptation looks a bit worse than zero imo. Which I think speaks more about zeros quality than anything else. Strange fake is an incredible story. There’s no way this won’t be at least decent.
Sorry, Fate/Strange Fake does not happen in the same timeline as any of the Stay Nights nor Zero.
Events similar to those in them did occur, but it is not the same timeline as any of them.
So from what I've gathered......your not a fan of 90% of the Fate series. That your comparing Strange Fake to Zero and neither are actually written by Nasu.
As for things that have come out within the last few years
Last Encore was a shit show because it's a weird adaptation of a game series we never fully got and the show unfortunately expected people to go into it knowing about things already.
Apocrypha certainly has some issues but it's actually rather fun. It also has some of the series most popular Servants in it such as Karna, Achilles and Astolfo. Is it deep? No. Is it bad? No. It's fun and at the end of the day that's honestly the most important thing. It's also personally my favorite one of the series. Zero is probably my least favorite because I just don't like any of the cast.
Fate Grand Order is extremely good and very popular so I have no idea where your getting the whole "everyone avoids it" thing from. It's got a bunch of great stories in it and induces a fantastic assortment of characters and Servants.
The Heavens Feel trilogy are legitimately good no doubt. I personally don't have any complaints about it.
The Camalot movies could have been better but they also could have been worse. For what there worth I'd say there passable.
Demonic Battle Fronts good. It's a pretty accurate adaptation of that chapter of FGO minus the fact that Jaguar Man was more involved in the game and actually fought against Taimat and her children. Hell we never got to see her Noble Phantasm!
Strange Fake is shaping up to be good but I have to wonder what there plan is. The manga/novel isn't even finished and in fact we don't even have ten chapters if I recall so the question becomes just how far will it even go?
This is why people shouldn’t start with Fate Zero as it will taint your perception of the series as this “dark and gritty world where mages compete for power”, when the rest of the series is literally about “cosmic horrors beyond human comprehension vs the indomitable strength of the human spirit”.
