ABOUT COLDPLAY
Since forming at university in London, Coldplay have gone on to become one of the planet’s most popular acts, selling more than 100 million copies of their nine Number One albums, which have spawned a string of hits including Yellow, Clocks, Fix You, Paradise, Viva La Vida, A Sky Full Of Stars, Hymn For The Weekend, Adventure Of A Lifetime, Orphans and, most recently, Higher Power and My Universe.

Parachutes - Still Coldplay's best album, in my opinion.
Yeah,of. Course
Correctamundo
always has been
for me this and X & Y, but damn I love Politik as a single
I agree with you 100%
let’s not forget this is one of the best albums ever made.
You said nothing but the truth
YES
Definitely their best. I liked the next one a lot too when it came out, but as the years have marched on, this one stands out a little more.
Facts
Facts
This songs gives me the most horrible nostalgic homesick feeling ever. Man what a legendary band.
Me too! And I for some reason love that feeling
Same
They always played it in my hometown airport
Totally one hundred percent relatable
And i reckon the animations don't help either!!!
This was the first song I chose to play at my brothers funeral. He was the one who introduced me to Coldplay and who I would think of when I listened to this album. Thank you for such a beautiful song in this beautiful, but terrifying and rough world. Love You All, everyone.
I'm sorry to hear that happened to you, I'm sure you miss him a lot... But I bet you have so many amazing memories of him to look back on ☺️
I have to agree this world can be pretty harsh though 😅
Prayers for you, stay strong 🙏❤️
So sorry to hear that, RIP to him, he seemed to have a great taste in music.
I'm sorry for your loss.
I'm sorry for your loss but everytime you listen to Coldplay your brother is there
You live in a beautiful world. You know why? Because your brother lived in it.
Am I the only one that thinks this song HAS to continue for at least 2 more minutes
it is a short song that needs more time, I agree
Definitely
In a way the length makes it kind of special.
I think by the way that it is short helps us to listen more to it
You're not alone my friend
Parachutes, such a musical adventure, no fuss, clean rock with glorious guitars and moody keyboards. A classic already.

@@alexanderjohnthomasknapik-1999 you do you, Alex
The first three albums were clearly the best, then in Viva la Vida they started sounding so much different expect in "Cemeteries of London". I used to hear these songs when I was a kid and now that I grow up I'm a huge fan of them, specially for this album
@@bvsitx Ah yes !! Cemetaries of London is such an awesome, awesome track. For me, the best of the album. I have to say that "Lost" and "Strawberry swing" are pretty special performances too, but so different too ! The ending track "Death and all if its friends" is a nice hidden gem as well.
@@progtoeternity Yup! But most of them are REALLY underrated. It's just that I feel that since that album the production changed a lot, just compare Clocks and "Orphans" or "Hymn for the Weekend". The style it's completely different.
Personally, I think that the real meaning of this song is just enjoy your life:
we can't be happy every time
so just endure your life
and don't get worried about small things, just try to be fine, just try to be positive
No matter what I do I feel as if I'm missing out on something. Although, I have virtually nothing to my name anyway. I miss the days of this song when my life was much simpler
@@SamuelBlack84 that little something is always inside you
@@dr.kusumb.7220 And, it faces the immeasurable opposing force of the rest of the world
probably why the song is so short, a metaphor for life.

Bones sinking like stones
All that we've fought for
Homes, places we've grown
All of us are done for
'N we live in a beautiful world
Yeah we do, yeah we do
We live in a beautiful world
Oh, all that I know
There's nothing here to run from
'Cause yeah, everybody here's
Got somebody to lean on
This song gives me goosebumps. It's so mellow, yet so powerful at the same time. The guitar cords are haunting.
I so agree with your comment. It puts me in this amazing headspace "portal" where I relive cozy rainy days, sunshine days with family and close friends, bookstore wanderings, so many simple, pure moments. I'm a huge fan of Coldplay and have been for years. Their melodies often transport me somewhere simple and beautiful. And Chris Martin's very distinct voice just enhances the ride. And yes, in this song, the guitar chords are indeed haunting. Makes it sound so ethereal which is why I tend to put this tune on repeat.

This is the only song that helps me when I panic, it has saved me from multiple suicides and helped me through a friend's suicide
wow, I know that we don't know each other but I hope u don't commit suicide..also you posted that comment on my birthday..but anyways I wish u well
Don't worry. If you still have something to live for, like this song, just keep going.
i will. i have my mum :)
Don't die. If you're ever sad listen to Up & Up. That song is beautiful and uplifting. Lots of love
I listened to this song on repeat for 3 years. This is not a joke. I still listen to it everyday in the car.
i got officially diagnosed with depression and anxiety before the pandemic happened and i found this song and it has helped through all the stressful situations. it brings me peace and i’m so glad i found this song

Yo sufro de ansiedad, es horrible 😯, pero escuchar a COLDPLAY, me ha ayudado mucho 💚💛💜💙
Abel, wishing you the best in the future! this song is so awesome!
This song and many others have helped me through the bad times ❤
Why does this song make me cry...?
For me: Because mortality is terrifying, but it's also what makes life beautiful. This is a sentiment I grapple with constantly, and this song encapsulates it perfectly.
..because you are deep

I love the lyricism in this song a lot, especially in the hook. "we live in a beautiful world", followed by an immediate "yeah we do, yeah we do", to maybe suggest ones first response would be "no we don't". He kind of reads your mind in a sense
The way I always heard it was "we live in a beautiful world" is something you've heard many people say but when he says "yeah we do, yeah we do", I hear him telling me to stop and really look around and take it. Don't just hear the word.
i can't even describe how much this song means to me

Its a beautiful song - I have done a flute cover on my channel, hope you like it.
About 8 years ago I was travelling around Sri Lanka and had been going through a bit of a period of depression and loneliness. I was travelling by bus and had fallen asleep with my MP3 player on shuffle. I woke up, looked out of the window only to find we were at the top of a mountain with the most amazing views I've ever seen and at that exact moment the chorus of don't panic is playing in my ears. Honestly the most beautiful experience of my life, so much so that i, a then 39 year old man, began crying! Still can't listen to this song without visualising that view
man you gave me goosebumps
I will never stop listening to coldplays first songs I will never stop
2019 and "Parachutes" and "A rush of blood to the head" are still my all time favourites! No doubt!

?
It's only 11 years?
I love this song...but the feeling I get is more like, the chorus is sarcasm...or bereft hope. Like, keep telling yourself that it's a beautiful world, because you know it isn't true. It's the melancholy of the song that attracts me.
The song is trying to get across the fact that earth and our little world we live in is incredibly tiny compared to the universe
vv Mako vv That's all you got huh?
Andy Appleton what do you mean?
vv Mako vv Your analysis seems a little simplistic. "Bones sinking like stones, all that we've fought for. Homes, places we've grown...all of us are done for." Seems like something a little deeper than what you've stated. Seems kind of fatalistic. Couple that with the downbeat nature of the melody and chorus and I definitely question what you're talking about. Of course, it's subjective so it's very open to interpretation. If that's what it means to you, then that's what it is for you.
Andy Appleton Simplistic? no... and by the way the song has a down beat nature to it because its trying to get across the fact that we are only hurting ourselves by being so uneducated on what is out there, and how we are destroying our planet. To be honest, if I put all the things that the song is trying to say and get across, then I would be writing for a very long time... Also, just to let you know, less than 2% worlds population even know even out there in the universe
Bones, sinking like stones
All that we fought for
Homes, places we've grown
All of us are done for
And we live in a beautiful world
Yeah, we do, yeah, we do
We live in a beautiful world
Bones, sinking like stones
All that we fought for
And homes, places we've grown
All of us are done for (done for)
And we live in a beautiful world
Yeah, we do, yeah, we do
We live in a beautiful world
And we live in a beautiful world
Yeah, we do, yeah, we do
We live in a beautiful world
Oh, all that I know
There's nothing here to run from
'Cause yeah, everybody here's

After 6 years I have just rediscovered this song for the first time.
I was about 7 and at that time I was getting into music, and me and my friends created a band. I wanted to make a song that we could play, an this melody just popped into my head. I knew it was already a song, but just didn’t know which, and up to now, I still remember walking up to my best friend and asking him by humming the melody to him. He immediately told me it was Dont panic.
I know it doesn’t seem like much but now when I just randomly clicked on this video all these memories just came flooding over me.
Now me and my friend live completely different live completely different lives, barely in touch and on completely different continents. So much time has passed, and it just gives me this feeling, not really sadness but like acceptance that time has passed and I’ll never get it back, but am forever grateful for it.
Nostalgia is a weird thing. I’m only 14 but I already feel so old. Please live life to the fullest to those of you who see this. Life is short, so enjoy it to the max.
Love from New York 🤍

Agree new Coldplay style is so far away from beginning that I can't hear, feel and enjoy theirs new songs. That's simply impossible. We all are like orphans now, it's great loss for all heart-feeling people.
You know why the most beautiful songs last two minutes? Cause it teaches a lesson that beautiful moments in life don’t last that long. Cherish it

It’s amazing to see how much this song means to so many people. It’s so soothing. My teenage years were dark, lonely and full of fear and sadness. Coldplay’s parachutes was the album that helped me through them.
