  • 2017 Porsche Macan fuse for battery replacement and battery recharge.
Video shows replacement of the fuse (part number 4F0 915 519) that is triggered once any airbags deploy and prevent the car from starting. Also shows refitting of the battery.
Note - although I did not mention it on the video, the vent hose was refitted on the side of the battery.

If any airbags have gone off, the pyro fuse must be replaced first. You will get ancillary power but no power to the starter with a blown pyro fuse. Next thing to check is the condition of the battery. Good luck in getting it started.

Hey what’s that fuse called that blows when in a accident.

Hi, it's battery overload fuse. The part fitted to my Macan was actually an Audi part - 4F0 915 519; genuine parts are less than £40; I think you can buy cheaper copies

Tried everything to start mine after airbag deployment. New Pyroswitch etc. Still won't crank, any ideas?

I appreciate you may have tried some or all of below but here are my suggestions. Even if you bought the Audi version of the pyrofuse rather than a cheaper copy I would suggest checking it for continuity. Next I would check the condition of the battery as there is a reasonable chance it will have discharged if the car has sat for any length of time. Next step I suggest using a code reader such as icarsoft cr2.0 with the Porsche specific software to read and clear the codes (I understand cheaper code readers won't necessarily find all codes). Worth reading them all before clearing them, to see if it gives any clues but then clear them, try to start the car and see if any return. It might also be worth checking other fuses too. Good luck.

@@porscot thank you kindly for your reply. I purchased the fuse from Audi and it doesn't rattle like the other. Also checked on multimeter which shows it works fine.
If I was to put the battery starter pack to the front points, would this normally bypass the cut off switch? This may explain why it started the first time I had it recovered.
Thanks again for your prompt reply

@@kalsingh5124 I would suggest double checking your connections when you fitted the fuse and the connection to the battery. Also worth checking the voltage on your battery. It's harder to get a starter pack attached to the battery in the boot but it is easier to get to the terminals under the bonnet. If you have replaced the fuse as I understand it there should be no difference whether using a starter jump pack at the front or back.

I can't recall if it is a retaining plate or strap that holds the battery down but certainly all inside the car, nothing underneath. For guidance on all tasks, check out the workshop manual which is hopefully still available from this link -www.macanforum.com/forum/engine-technical-discussion/166822-2015-2016-service-manual.html
