It seems to be a step above the usual off-brand, bargain machines. How are the weight, balance, adjustability & general ergonomics? If it's waterproof and performs reasonably well at the beach, I wouldn't automatically turn up my nose at it. Thanks, Erich for an interesting review.
Ya these last 2 detectTrek machine are suppose to upgrade processors for "40% better performance". There's definitely something going on, they're way more responsive that your typical budget machine.

I wonder what it's like on the Beach
I didn't make it to the beach for this one, but I'm sure it's very similar to the M55 I reviewed a few weeks ago. It does say the coil is waterproof.

Ya it's almost like a tear drop. Seemed to work and center just fine.
180$. Yeah no way. Do some research folks. Keywords being “Nokta” or “Minelab”.
