I bought a super cheap pinpointer because I exhausted my budget with the metal detector. I'd love to have this! I really like the blue. I did a test with the one I bought and I have to be an inch or less to the target, and it never picked up an earring until I was touching it. I was your 111th "like" -- a good luck number. 😄
@@SeekandDetect I figured I was far too late. I just saw the video as I'm now looking to upgrade. I enjoy your channel, have subscribed, and look forward to watching more of your videos. Have a great evening.
CKG. Need a new ( well want a new ) pin pointer. Mine works well in wet sand but once the dig fills up with, even if just an inch or so with water it buzzes touching the water. Nice little review and enjoy your vids.
Wow, I just found your channel today now onto my 4th video. Love your easygoing video. Nice pin pointer. CKG hori hori knife is beautiful...off to get one.
Hey can I ask you if you have updated the X-terra pro to th 1.79 software and if so how do you set the auto ground balance that came with the update? I had mine out today and the detector seemed ok for an hour or so and then decided to start phanton targets? I was on the beach in mode 1, not in the water! I was using the pinpointer on detector alot and everytime I dug it seemed to move using the pinpoint again? it was shoing the same as I sways the detector randomely about allover the show. After I turned it off it seemed to sort itself out and then went funny again?? I was wondering if I set the groumd onto auto it may help! I am a newbie and not long had this machine.
If you're getting lots of signal and noise for no reason try 2 things. Drop you sensitivity down. I usually keep mine below 20. Then go to the first setting icon which is noise cancel. Hold the coil up and hit the check button. It should quiet after that. If there's still some noise make sure you're not near any thing that can cause electric interference like a house or power lines. Other people detecting near by can cause lots of noise too. If you don't want to worry about ground balancing, go to the 2nd setting icon and press the check button. You'll see the little wavy icon up at the top that shows you're in auto tracking balance. Last thing to check is if you have some dirt or ferrous soil under your coil cover. I clean mine out after almost every hunt. Fine grit will get in there and if it's ferrous it can cause some problems. One more thing , be sure your coil plug is screw in snug and the wire it not too loose around the shaft. Good luck!
@@SeekandDetect Thanks for getting back and in detail, mucho apprichiated. I have cleaned out the coil cover as I noticed it was gathering lots, I was thinking of a way to try and keep it from getting in and under? I had done all that you said... do you press the tick/X button to ground balance, is that what you press for the noise cancel also and hold in for the auto tracking? I thought the auto tracking sign (zigzaggy) on the top stayed on to show it was a continual thing? even them numbers went from a normal to a complete high number. I did have sensitivity higher than 20. I should really download and print off the 50 page manual at me bro's as I havnt bothered yet on me phone (It was tiny writing and thought f that on me eyes trying to max zoom in lol. Maybe man and machine is finally coming together and having a mental burn out All the f'n trash! I did find one ring which looks like it has quality but with no stamp. I ended up digging to china at all the trash signals around it :) think thats when me head fell off a little. One question is... if I'm at the beach and the cliff is collapsed onto the beach, what setting would I change to to detect this heavy clay dirt! Because that's is when things really took a turn for the almost packing in and selling the detector feeling.
@@stephenmaas8775 I think you're on the right track. One the ground balance screen hit the check/x button, you'll see the squiggle. When it in auto balance the number will change as you move around. Keep at it, you'll get the hang of it.
@@SeekandDetect Ok... so we leave it on the ground balance screen with auto tune on and detect, not on the home screen! I thought we pump the detector a few inches for ground balance and once it settles we go back to home screen and gd to go. I'm a bit confused as I read one guys comment saying that the more we do it the machine learns and gets better?? But how do you detect in ground balance screen? Maybe... I hav'nt got a grips of it😂🤔

Nice... Mr Erich getting hooked-up by CKG... you're like all prime time now! :-) Looks like a decent pinpointer for the money... a good back-up at a very minimum!
A great looking pinpointer & great price. The tiny screen would be wasted on me (old eyeballs). If it's waterproof, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a detecting newbie. It's funny how the bystander kept incorrectly identifying the foreign coin. 🤪 (no giveaway entry - already have a Garrett "carrot")
