Hello Gary. Giving your detectors to people who will also use them in the field is very honorable, especially since you do this including shipping within the country. Hats off. I wish you all the best for you and your family and stay healthy.
@@The-skillschool Today my Silver Sabre 2 arrived and I'm looking forward to use this "back to the roots" detector. So far I like it.😄 Have some peaceful holidays.
In the later 1980s up to 1992 I used two Tesoros - Silver Sabre and Royal Sabre which could be belt mounted, giving a very light stem and coil to swing. Many good finds with those machines, even down to tiny hammereds.
Like you was in the 80's ,but bought Garretts (Master Hunter) My first one was a push Button retune. What you did today was like Light Tackle fishing :)) Nice to see it, I always wanted a Telsoro, The name was cool :))
I lived in Hawaii in 1983-84, got a silver Sabre for dry sand hunting. It was light weight compared to my Teknetics 8500B for sure. I had to hip Mount it. In trashy sites, low minerals, that little detector will still find the goods
Thanks for the video and give away. Great little machine. I own 2 Lobos. I also reside in the great state of Arizona, USA 🇺🇸 so it would be coming home. Tesoro was a great company ❤️
Another great give a way Gaz. I remember a mate of mine, sadly no longer with us using this model on a medieval field of mine that had just been ploughed. As I recall he done pretty dam good.
Awsome Gary. I got an original Lazer Rapier yesterday for 100 with a polo coil on in A1 condition so that's no4 on my man cave wall of my Dino's the Nautilus DMC 2ba being in spot one :) who knows I may get one of these for spot 5 one day . Nice to see it picking out them Romans in the iron area and how that signal on the cob nail was clipped or choppy, but like you say always worth investigating in case it's a coin under iron or with alot of iron around it.
Beautiful old machines, easy to use without any stupid and complicated settings turn on and search. With a closed coils. Unfortunately, hardly any manufacturer today makes closed coils. I do not know why? they go through larger vegetation more easily.
I spent most of the mid-70s with my old C-scope 770D, which I bought from Joan Allen, I saved up for some time, and I dug just about everything. Before getting it, I built a detector kit from Everyday Electronics Magazine, it picked up radio One when I detected an object, I guess the best targets would have been if it was tuned in to Gold FM
I'm not sure what you can do about it Gary but I miss your vids on the Deus 1. I guess you must have covered all there is to be said on the 'one' but can I suggest a couple of vids? Comparing the 9" hf coil with the 11" X35 black coil and (still using the D1) a bit of a real specialist detecting, seeking those difficult targets, gold thrysmas. Even with the best setting, the wrong sweep-speed and we will still miss a thrysma. Best for Christmas.
My first "proper" detector, the Silver Sabre Plus. Second hand just serviced by Pentechnic sold to me by my detector dealer friend.Found my first hammered coin Elizabeth 1st groat with one.
Thanks Gary, well done on those two Romans, my first machine was a Laser Trident, I struggled with it a bit to start with and dug plenty of iron but got the hang of it after a while! 😊
by the way, have you ever used a BFO, they were even before our time, more like the 70's, I saw a guy with one, I think it was more like a Geiger Counter :)) Not much depth
Ive just bought this exact model, and took it out today for the first time, never stopped beeping, whats the best numbers/settings to put it on, cheers.

They can still hold their own even today.
I'm like you from back then, but went with the Garrett Master Hunters
Good times
My favorite 25 years ago was that Tesoro Tejon. I found a lot of coins and some nice things. He was good for non-ferrous metal and iron.
I still have a Tejon
Hi Gary, please do a Tejon video.Thanks.
The tone on that machine is detecting bliss, love the sound on the Tesoros. ATB MMMD
Yes it's so how it should sound

Cheers Paul, yes they can still hold their own on a junky site.
It sounds great.. and running off of 6 AA batteries could come in handy when the deus 2's coil runs out of juice 😀
Thanks Daniel
Very capable machine. If you walk over it, you will find it. Nice detector, Gary. Good luck to everyone.
Thanks Robert

Good luck to the winner.
Thanks Richard

What a great giveaway I can remember using my friends one some years ago 👍👍👍
Still a great little machine.
Cracker of a machine... still holds my record for most targets found in a day...170 coins at a site!!
Wow that's impressive

Gary, thanks for the chance!
Those old machines needs to be not only hanged on wall, but also regularly used in field. And this I can promise ;)

Thanks Gary, well done on those two Romans, my first machine was a Laser Trident, I struggled with it a bit to start with and dug plenty of iron but got the hang of it after a while! 😊
The Trident did like the Iron, so did the Tejon.
Aah I didn't know that, maybe I was also a bit too eager with the spade!
Perhaps the Trident was an ideal machine for a scrap merchant! 😁
Love the tesoros
Nice one Todd

These devices weren't cheap at the time either.
They were a month's wages
