More damage is multiplicative and increased damage is additive I believe additive damage is calculated with everything than more damage is after so more damage multiply every added together. Like if my skill with added damage from weapon, items and skill tree increases % damage is 1000. That is all added up together than I multiply the 200% more damage. That is multiple on top so its not over doubling damage.

been playing for thousands of hours over several years and didn't know you could hover and ctrl+C an item. I had just put this on as background noise while I was doing something else and ended up learning something. Thanks Ziz.
About increase the level of gem : It increase the damage of the gem (the spells, but also Caustic arrow and any ability were the damage come from the gem) of around 10% more between the level 20 and 30. (for some ability, it will be +8% and for some other 12%, but it is always near 10%. But when we add lot of level, it can became a significative difference, because they are multiplicative. With +6 level, with 11%, 1.11^6 = 1.87 ; with 9%, 1.09^5=1.68. ) But after the level 30, the increase per level is reduce by half. (if it was 10%, it becam 5%) so increase of more than 10 is both hard and far less useful. At the opposite, before the level 20, the increase per level is higher. (but the scaling also depend of at what level you get the gem level 1 ; so there is no general rule like above) About the Minion ability : +1 level to a gem level 20 to 30, add 2 level to the minion, that is an increase of its damage and health of ~10%. After the level 30, it is only +1 level to the minion, so +5% of health and damage. (for the value of have level 30 instead of 20 : 1.1^10 = 2.6, so around 160% more damage)

Ive watched a couple of your videos and idk if you know any Tarkov streamers but you remind me a lot of “Tweak”. Great video and informational! Me and my brother just got into the game the last week of Harvest and are hyped for Heist.
I found in this league, for the first time, the joys of playing PoE with proper defenses. I recommend at least 3 layers. It wasn't until I started using life leech, max block/recovery on block, and ailment immunity, that I started to feel I was playing the game correctly. Next league I'm thinking of working with the dodge mechanics, perhaps playing hybrid life/es, though I'm eager to try a low-life build if I can ever find a Shav's. I do fall victim to the glass-cannon meta.
@@cfworthy It's less about there being a single OP defensive combo and more about what it makes sense for each character to pick up. There are very few situations where a marauder will go grab acrobatics or ES when there are armour, fortify and Endurance charges readily available.

Personally, I've stacked plenty of life regen on an RF build, but found leech was better to scale once I understood the mechanics. Couldn't see myself grabbing Vaal Pact, as a healthy amount of both regen (+500) and leech (+1000) felt appropriate for me, with a little recovery on block.

I think a game is in a weird spot when playing the game means mostly being outside of the game. You're either on various websites, on tradesites or in third party apps like PoB. And even IF you play the game.. you always know you're wasting progress because it would be far more efficient to stop playing and instead go trade only. Or do what every single one of the top players does and just run a small farm of bots. No matter what you do: Actually playing the game is the worst way to progress. And that is kind of ridiculous and shouldn't be the case imho...
Why is there "Lightning Damage", which only seems to add to attacks with the weapon. "Lightning Damage to Attacks" which also seems to only add to attacks with the weapon and "Lightning Damage to Spells" which adds to spells? Whats the point of the first one.
I am fairly sure the "lightning damage" only shows up locally on the weapon, so it only counts for attacks using said weapon(unless you use spellslinger). The other 2 types, "lightning damage to attacks/spells" are on other pieces, which is why they specify what they count towards

What if we had a poe guild and associated discord server and forums under the name PoE University which acted as a sort of similar thing to Eve University in Eve Online?
I had to struggle learning all this myself, glad there is a video for new players now. Though not sure if they would sit for the whole thing (been trying to teach my friends by spectating them as they play through) I started in Metamorph. Delirium was my second league, and my trial and error stage to solidify the concepts and that paid off as I farmed a ton of kaching to buy me awesome gear. (Abusing league content and mechanics such as Jun and Alva too) Harvest took it to the next level and farmed a few mirrors just by crafting my own gear and selling it off after I'm done with the build to fund the next.
There are some mechanics that give ilvl 100 items, but there's not much use of them. It's just a way to future-proof newly intoduced content such as div cards (ones that give 100 ilvl items) so that their creators won't worry about cards becoming obsolete.
Within a day of Mathil making a build guide, the prices on all of the items involved will skyrocket due to price manipulation. This is also known as "The Mathil Effect". I'm guessing the joke was that Mathil would say "I make currency by making build guides."
I've been playing POE for many many years and i still don't understand why people say that "increased" is additive and "more" is multiplicative. They're both multiplicative Case #1: you have 1 damage, then you get "100% increased" damage -> you end up with 2 damage. then you get "100% more" damage -> you end up with 4 damage. Case #2: you have 1 damage, then you get "100% more" damage -> you end up with 2 damage. then you get "100% increased" damage -> you end up with 4 damage. They are both the same, it's (base damage) * (increased damage) *(more damage). "More" is a lot more rare and harder to get, that's a given, but it doesn't make it more or less multiplicative.

Hybrid + Dodge don't work well together because the Acrobatics keystone halves you ES

I've been playing POE for many many years and i still don't understand why people say that "increased" is additive and "more" is multiplicative. They're both multiplicative
Case #1: you have 1 damage, then you get "100% increased" damage -> you end up with 2 damage. then you get "100% more" damage -> you end up with 4 damage.
Case #2: you have 1 damage, then you get "100% more" damage -> you end up with 2 damage. then you get "100% increased" damage -> you end up with 4 damage.
They are both the same, it's (base damage) * (increased damage) *(more damage). "More" is a lot more rare and harder to get, that's a given, but it doesn't make it more or less multiplicative.
