I don't mind the format of the Samsung folds, but Magic V3 shows that a Samsung fold that's this thick should have an internally housed stylus, a 6000mah battery, and a way better camera

I mean, in some ways (software, build quality, cooling, support) they still are the standard. Z fold 6 fixed the outer screen (only 2-3mm less wide than the one plus). It's really nothing to complain about any more. Same screen width as an iPhone mini and only a mm or two less wide than a widely purchased phone like the pixel 7a. It also, has better speakers if that matters. The reflective screen protector does suck for visibility. However, the screen coating this year is improved. It feels more like real glass than any foldable ive tried. Doesn't have finger drag like the one plus matte screen protector (and most Chinese foldables) and doesn't get greasy like the older z folds. Different strokes for different folks. I'd imagine if the special edition z fold 6 does well in Korea and China, more aggressive changes will hit for thr z fold 7
@@EthanCarey-l4cit's way thicker and heavier. How is that better for samsung lmao. Honor has a desktop mode... Samsung does not. Honor comes with a charger and case, Samsung does not. Crease seems more obvious on the samsung. And the screen size difference looks pretty obvious to me and is appreciated. Oh wait, there's more! The samsung rocks back and forth on the table way more. The stylus works on the front screen for honor and not samsung. Samsung has more bloatware. Much better charging on the Honor. No one can look at 18:07 and say they want the samsung. The screen has so much more glare and the crease is obvious. It's a joke. Samsung has rested on its laurels for so long. Pick what you want but don't pretend samsung is better in "every" way.

Ive had both for a week. Ive always been Samsung i had the fold 3 4 and 5. And loved them thst is until i got the honor. Wow its thin and feels really premium. I absolutely love the software it's slick no issues at all. Battery life. Its been on since 8.30 am its now midnight ive got 6 hrs on screen time and im on 52 percent. You find you use the front screen lot more than the Samsung with it bieng like a normal phone. I did a test today and ran 4k youtube vids on both phones on the highest setting and there was clearly alot more detail on the honor. So to my suprise im moving away from Samsung. I shall return it in the morning .
I have fold 6 and honor almost 1 week. I love the honor, a can t return the fold , I only can return the honor, I am on the fence don t Kwon yet what to do. I sell the fold and keep the honor or return him. Lol. Wtf. 😂 But this software of honor is so much good. Very good funcions that Samsung doesn't have.
I'm on z fold 4 (had a Note 10+ before) and I'm really interested in the V3, but I'm wary of the transition from Samsung to Honor. Mostly because of the software, the Samsung Notes App, where I have loads of stuff and a lot of work related drawings and finally the s-pen, which my favourite pen to draw on a device and I'm afraid the Honor pen doesn't live up to it 🙄

Not blown up by much due to the inside screen shape otherwise cropping would be required and certainly not a patch on the S24 Ultra screen. The other issue is folding screen anxiety, will it bubble or peel next time I open it. The Magic V3 claims a minimum folding screen life of 500,000 open/close operations while the Fold 6 is 200,000 which reflects that Honor have more confidence in their folding screen.
i cant speak about honor much since i havent ever had one . but since i gave my s23 ultra for the fold z 6 im happier than ever . since i do consume a lot of time on social and videos . Cameras are a bit clunky compared to s23 ultra but still samsung quality (nothing much to complain ) overall i would pick samsung again and again since their whole ecosystem never failed me at the slitest , plus it gives me the premium quality of apple products without being locked behind ios and their horrendous price tags , and im not talking about lanch alone , i bought z fold 6 a week after release and i managed to buy it at $1400 for 512gb . Also oneui has been a blast i never noticed any bug that i can spot , and they always keep it clean and top notch . Moving to fold z 6 got an amazing quality device with amazing software on my hands . 100% samsung . the only downside is the front screen size comparing this 2 but still when unfolded for a mini tablet i dont mind a bit of less screen . outter screen hurts a little , and when u apply cases on folding those lines arround the screen do eat a small portion aswell which your fingers cannot reach .
I've had a Samsung flagship phone since the Galaxy S2 & I've just got the honor V3, so far very impressed although the different operating system is taking a bit of getting used to it's still intuitive and in some ways better than Samsung, the crease on the fold is unforgivable to me, seems Samsung is starting to stagnate and failing to truly innovate like they used to
The V3 is a revolutionary fold phone, mainly cause you'll find yourself using the front screen a lot more than you usually would do on a fold, probably because it's thin and easy to use. It's like a premium "normal" phone with the extra feature of the fold screen. Such a great device. Honor wins this time.
I'm unsure which phone to purchase... The vivo x fold 3 pro (chinese rom - €1150) or the honor magic v3 (Global rom - €1500). I live in the EU... Would appreciate your views and why you would opt for one over the other
If you prioritize software stability, Google services, and frequent updates, the Honor Magic V3 (Global ROM) is the better choice. If you are looking for a cheaper option and don't mind using a Chinese ROM with potential limitations, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro offers great hardware at a lower price. However, you may need to put in extra effort for a seamless experience with Google apps and services. For most users living in Europe, the Honor Magic V3 (Global ROM) is likely the better choice due to its software compatibility and ease of use with Western apps and services.
@@klaus-juergenkessel3916 thank you for your reply. What do you mean by limitations? Is it just the compatibility with android auto and smart wear.... In all fairness, if it is just that, i think it is not such a big of a deal (at least in my case) as you will be getting your hands on a piece of quality tech at a reasonable price. You get the pen! I just bought my v3 today for 1399 with the pen and the inner and outer screen warranty included and I forget to say the pen work on the outer screen as well. The z fold 6 512gb with the s pen would have costed me £2000 and this without including the screen warranty, I paid the honor £1400 with the case, the super fast charger, the cover, the pen and the extra warranty included and it’s so thin like the z fold can only dream of bye bye samsung.

Have been using magic v3 for over a month now (my previous phone was iphone 13 pro max). Overall, the phone is great but it has few weak points that no reviewer seem to mention. 1- selfie camera has more mp than iphones but quality is very poor 2- speakers and earpiece are not loud enough. Quite often i have to wear earbuds to hear better 3- face ID doesn't work in dark. Apple's does For me, i don't mind sacrificing these missing features for the sake of larger screen and amazing multi tasking tools that the v3 offers.

I did personally check both, the Honor Magic V3 and the Samsung Z Fold 6 and both are real good choice. But even if I have decidet for Samsung in the past, at this time I would prefer the Honor. There is not a real big difference at all, but the big screen of the Honor is clear better and there is also the price-point! The Honor is not as expensive as the Samsung with similar quality.

Honor Magic V3 wins 100%. Canceled my Fold 6 preorder and imported the Magic V3 from Hong Kong and never been happier. Really insane hardware and the software is really great now. Highly recommended.
Samsung has became such a household name that their upgrades get less and less as people still buy them. I got the Honor Magic 6 pro, absolutely amazing phone, better in nearly every way than Samsung S24 ultra plus around 500 cheaper. Got a pleasent supise it also has desktop mode so your V3 should have it also.
@@SWOTHDRA Max is 4K, there is not much point recording in 8K when you do that with a mobile the footage comes out not very smooth so overall a worse end result. Also there is barely anyone with 8K screens so you would be having less smooth footage & a much larger files size for worse results. It is like having 100x zoom on phones which the Honor also has pretty much no point having it on any phone it is so blurry and unstable at that range. The best thing that is using the 100x zoom is too see further lol. If your looking for a good camera though I would also consider Vivo x100 or X100 ultra, One Plus 12 both flagship models in every way at good prices.
Is the right bezel on the inside screen of the Magic v3 thicker than all the others? I've never noticed it before, and maybe its some weird angle due to the camera bump but it seems like it is. Any insight into that would be super helpful (measuring it or something)
As a fold 4 user here. I found the fold 6 just be a slightly slimmer and faster phone. For £1600? Anyways I decided to go for the honor, it was just £1400 with the discount and came with B&o headphones worth £550 they say but can be bought for £289 on amazon. Ended up being much better deal. I like the bigger front screen and the lighter feel.
The selection in the Western smartphone market is too monotonous. In China, there are 7-8 options for large foldable phones, and even more for small foldable ones. In the Western world, it seems like there are only Apple and Samsung.
If any one experienced that Honour UK supplied 66W super charger came separately with Magic V3 doesn't charge V3 faster. It takes about 2.5h to charge the phone from 0 to 100%. Global V3 in the presentation which has a charger in the box and that charges the phone much faster. Not sure what is the difference between the two chargers?
@@Techtablets Your 66W EU charger is included in the box but charger is not included in the Honor UK Magic V3 box and they supplied 66W charger separately. I hope other buyers from Honour UK come forward to give their opinions on the charger.
I'd like to see a follow up video on the ultra wide camera. It looked very lackluster on the v3 compared to the "wideness" of the fold and I need more in-depth analysis.
Now the question is , how durable is the honor? I had the vivo x fold 2 and I was impressed by it after z fold 3, but it barely made it more than a year. It recently died and I decided to go back to Samsung. Ironically I expected it's folding screen to break/shatter first, but It died internally. The internal display just does not work anymore.
Hi. Just want to check with you on this. I noticed that the screen protector that comes with the phone is a dust magnet. No matter how I clean the screen protector, in no time, screen accumulated on it. And the environment around me is not dusty. Do u or any of u have such an issue? I await ur reply and tks!
The thing that's preventing me to choose the honor over the samsung is the company's support. If only if they had strong support here in the US. That and the front screen size and thinness. I still have my fold 3 but I guess I'll wait a bit longer for the next iteration.
hey chris, just a suggestion can you try having the phones held higher with a stand/with your hand WITHOUT blocking the speakers? That's because speakers send out sound not in just a straight line but in a radius, and by having the phones flat on a table, the sound gets blocked a little and changes a little. For example, I can't stand to listen to my phone if it's flat on my bed/table. I have to prop it up sideways on a bottle/pillow, that way the sound comes out naturally. I still get the basic idea of the sounds though, the samsung one does seem to sound better but i feel like putting them down on the table changes the sound in a bad way and can kinda hurt comparisons. Most of the times we have the phones on our hand and so the sound has free area to travel to, so yeah just a suggestion.
Samsung's stagnation with their latest foldable made obvious. Prices for foldables still absurd though, I could buy a flagship phone and $400 tablet at these prices.
And then you'd have spent the same amount of money but have two devices to carry around. I agree that the prices are way too steep, but if you were comparing a slab phone and a tablet bundled together with just a foldable, you two get the two-for-one with the foldable.
As a piece of tech, the Honor is excellent and way ahead of the Z Fold but software is lacking, updates won't be as frequent and I expect the Samsung eco system to be ahead too.
That's because the Honor has much much much higher PWM rate that's very good for your eyes, That's why the battery usage is higher. I much rather have that eye protection feature.
I have the Honor V2 and love it!! Battery is excellent, by midnight when i go to bed , i have on avg around 30% I'm a heavy user. Can highly recommend Honor.
Maybe that, but I think it's largely just due to software optimization. Samsung gets a alot of flak for the hardware falling behind, but man can they code software. Software is hands down one of the biggest pros for Samsung, while for Honor its easily the biggest weakness. That said, Honor is getting better every generation both in HW and SW, while Samsung is kinda just... already having a really good software and relies on the brand name. That said, having used a Fold5 for over half a year, most of the fancy features were kinda gimmicky for me. From what I see, I dont think I'll personally be missing much by going Honor this time around
I’m looking for my first foldable and I think I will go with the a fold 6. I’m not trusting all these positive reviews on the honor magic v3. All that really gets praised is the thinness and how it’s so amazing. But what about after sale support? What happens when it comes time for a repair? I know Samsung can be difficult at times but I trust them more when it comes to after sales help.
I got the fold 6 because of UI and support and strangely enough, i prefer the narrower screen (don't have big hands, its not an issue at all). I came from the S22 ultra and i'd been a relief to not have a giant slab phone in my pocket (ride a motorcycle and it feels yuck when its jabbing my thigh). If things like thinness and crease visbility aren't an issue - then the marketing perks of the V3 kinda just dwindle. There's so much that comes down to individual user preference too, so either phone is astonishing in it's own right. But unless you're pitting them against one and other in the same room nobody that gets a fold is going to feel it's too thick or that the screen is too reflective imo.
I've owned two Folds and disliked the narrow dimensions of the cover screen. I found most sites and videos didn't fit the cover screen. The Magic v3 cover screen dimensions are far more compatible with websites and online videos...
@@rickz7461 the only real thing the magic v3 has going for it is the front screen. Besides that Samsung is the safer option all around and has better multi tasking capabilities.

Samsung, which has been continuously developing, should be considered to have excellent skills. Is there a v4 development schedule? Fold has been continuously developing 7, 8, 9, 10 every year, and it is faithful to compensate for its shortcomings. I wonder about your policy as.
I'll say it like this when Honor was still a sub brand of Huawei, Huawei cooked Samsung by introducing an outward folding phone (mate xs/Honor V Purse) with no gaps. and having the thinness of a normal phone back in 2018/19... Wonder why they were banned...
I dont know why no one ever talks about upgrade cost. But you'll talk about a free case Honor gives you?!?! I'm in the USA with a Samsung S23 Ultra 5G ready to move to a foldable. Honor DOES NOT give me a trade-in so I need to pay full price. Samsung will give me $1,100 for my S23 on its Black Friday special. Do the math! I'll stick with Samsung as they always give you this trade up option and that means something.
Its the other way round for me, i have the v3 n my friend is using the fold 6, we use our phone more or less the same throughout the day at work but my v3 outlasts his fold 6 by bout 10-15% difference
Hello Chris i had both phones and honestly speaking in terms of hardware honor V3 blows up the fold 6 but user interface wise surely samsung is the winner
I understand why people prefer the Honor - most of the specs are just better on paper. However, personally, I like the slimmer Fold 6 more. It fits better in my smaller hands (coming from iphone pro max and the size bothers me) so it feels like a new, modern form factor to me. Plus, Samsung's software makes the phone more enjoyable for me, and I really appreciate the build quality of the Fold 6. I'm not sure what the V3 will be like, but the V2 felt like a cheap Chinese phone imo.
I have both. The Honor is actually easier to use one handed due to how thin it is and because of how curved it is. Even though the Fols 6 is narrower, it's harder to use one handed because of how thick it is and the square sharp sides.
@phehibs Look at Honors marketing videos. They put the V3 is a washing machine, weights on both sides of the phone, chucked it across concrete and it still survived.
Really good review. I appreciate the in-depth approach. I am upgrading from a Z Fold 3. Does Honor have support in the UK? I think the ease of if the Z Fold 6 goes wrong, I can pop into my local Vodafone store and get it sorted. However, Honor are offering Phone, Watch, Earbuds, Charger and Pen for £1399 in UK.
One big difference is that the front screen of the Honor is actually usable. The Samsung is too narrow. I do believe the Honor is the better foldable in almost every aspect. The only question is how well does the Honor work with major US cell phone providers such as AT&T and Verizon? If the phone is not compatible, then the Honor is not a real option for US users.

Battery life is still a toss up as another reviewer had the Honor lasting much longer than the Fold. I guess it's nitpicking at this point though. You have 2 screens, if you're not a heavy user with cable and powerbank at arm's reach most of your waking time then why are you even buying a foldable?

Finally someone comparing in real life and not on paper. The claims on paper are always exaggerated. Thank you for this honest comparison.
People should stop acting as if Samsung foldables are the standard. Tf we care if they pioneered these things. They chose to stagnate.
Everything is better on the samsung except the screen size by a very small amount

Too bad the device looks like it belongs to grandma.... :/
I'm on z fold 4 (had a Note 10+ before) and I'm really interested in the V3, but I'm wary of the transition from Samsung to Honor. Mostly because of the software, the Samsung Notes App, where I have loads of stuff and a lot of work related drawings and finally the s-pen, which my favourite pen to draw on a device and I'm afraid the Honor pen doesn't live up to it 🙄
Come on what about the massive price difference? The Honor can be purchased for $1000 less and includes accessories...
i guess that depends on the country. I can buy z fold 6 for around 1250 euro and i guess honor will be a lot more expensive here in Poland

Please compare the Honor Magic V3 to the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro. The Vivo is the best foldable in the world imo

Have been using magic v3 for over a month now (my previous phone was iphone 13 pro max). Overall, the phone is great but it has few weak points that no reviewer seem to mention.

I haven't really noticed that, maybe more static from your pocket attracting the dust?
Is Honor v3 also can use pressure senstivity Pen drawing like as Fold 6 ?
Yes it can. There is the stylus for it.
Samsung's stagnation with their latest foldable made obvious. Prices for foldables still absurd though, I could buy a flagship phone and $400 tablet at these prices.
And then you'd have spent the same amount of money but have two devices to carry around. I agree that the prices are way too steep, but if you were comparing a slab phone and a tablet bundled together with just a foldable, you two get the two-for-one with the foldable.
how to take care of the internal screen or stick Ringke foil on it, for example
Just be careful with it the main thing is not to leave it lying about unfolded the worst thing is dropping something on the screen.

As a piece of tech, the Honor is excellent and way ahead of the Z Fold but software is lacking, updates won't be as frequent and I expect the Samsung eco system to be ahead too.
In Romania they cost about the same, if you consider Samsung doesn t provide charger etc. Not an easy choice.
Only reason i went with Samsung was Dex, it is standard it seems now on brands which is good.
That's because the Honor has much much much higher PWM rate that's very good for your eyes, That's why the battery usage is higher. I much rather have that eye protection feature.
Hi Chris I was wondering if you could do a comparison with the OnePlus Open/Oppo N3 if you still have that on hand?
I have the Honor V2 and love it!! Battery is excellent, by midnight when i go to bed , i have on avg around 30% I'm a heavy user. Can highly recommend Honor.
Didn't realize that the Z Fold 6 would have better battery life and better performance than the Magic V3. I guess thinness still has its price.
Fully agree. I got the fold 6 for the same reason. It's just smoke and mirrors for now
I got the fold 6 because of UI and support and strangely enough, i prefer the narrower screen (don't have big hands, its not an issue at all).
@@Bitplex the small screen is better in my opinion too.
I've owned two Folds and disliked the narrow dimensions of the cover screen. I found most sites and videos didn't fit the cover screen. The Magic v3 cover screen dimensions are far more compatible with websites and online videos...

Hello Chris i had both phones and honestly speaking in terms of hardware honor V3 blows up the fold 6 but user interface wise surely samsung is the winner
How about for photos and videos? I cant decide :(
Whats the differentials in the software, no one ever says!
I've said on loads of videos the V3 looks cheap and would snap in 2 easy by the looks of it!
@phehibs Look at Honors marketing videos. They put the V3 is a washing machine, weights on both sides of the phone, chucked it across concrete and it still survived.

@@Techtablets thanks. I can't find any information on website.
I use zfold 5 only because they provide samsung care when things go.wrong. but i would want the honor more because the screen width when the phone is folded
OMG the Zfold 6 looks so bulky when folded and unfolded, as compared to the Honor Magic V3 😅 I'm using the V3 for 1 week already... Im lovin it!
Thanks for sharing
@@TechtabletsIt's being reported that the Honor prioritizes the phone being cool over performance but if you put the device in high performance it will be much better.
The reason why Chinese foldable phones are thin is because their camera modules are very large. They can make them thin by installing vibrator motors or large parts on the camera module. However, the Galaxy Fold 6 is thick because its camera module is small. Chinese foldable phones have lower technology than Samsung. Chinese foldable phones mistakenly think that a large camera module means good camera performance. ..Chinese .boe displays are too weak to withstand the winter and tear..... Don't be fooled by Chinese tricks while spending a lot of money. The boe display cracks and breaks after folding it a few times.
thinner phons also are more destructiv to the fold in the inner display the folding radius is smaller
One of the features that most forget is that V3 has an IR Blaster... an amazing feature where you can control TV etc. Samsung gone....
You never answered your question, which one is the best in your opinion?
He's been answering comments - and only comments touting the V3 - there's even one comment where a user says V3 for the Win, and he responds with "indeed!"
The honor magic v3 has a better form factor than the z fold but however the built quality software and functionality of the z fold clearly out match the honor magic v3
I did not get a c to c cable
thank you for a realy great comparison❤
You are so welcome!
Battery life is still a toss up as another reviewer had the Honor lasting much longer than the Fold. I guess it's nitpicking at this point though. You have 2 screens, if you're not a heavy user with cable and powerbank at arm's reach most of your waking time then why are you even buying a foldable?
The crease on your fold 6 stands out very much.
Why didnt you compare the two dex modes? That seems like a big feature doesnt it? Need to do more research bro.
Is the Honor a 60hz display? It keeps pulsating in the camera. It's almost 2025
I know the tech in Huawei, Honor and other Chinese Mobo Companies are advancing at a rapid pace and some of them are more advanced than Apple, Google and Samsung. But in this video I really liked how premium Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 looks like. I'm gonna buy one.
Is it the global version?
it is
Compare thickness of phones with camera modules... we are walking around without cameras...
It’s how these brands measure the thickness 🤦♂️
20:30 seems like the photos are reversed. Look in the bottom left of both pictures.......
