I’m very excited I like how the music seems to be setting the tone of this game as a sonic game with stakes, this isn’t a silly joke like colors or lost world. I think sonic is gonna suffer a painful defeat at the beginning of the game maybe his friends get captured or they get overwhelmed by these new enemies.
Gameplay looks promising, and the story I have faith in, since Ian Flynn is behind the writing. And I've grown to love his writing from the IDW comics, which I checked out after binging the character analysis videos on this channel. My only dread is the Sega Overlords don't restrict Ian's writing too much. Looking at YOU, Zombot Shadow during the Metal Virus saga...
Ya that music is incredible! It’s defs not the typical rock-y stuff we’re used to hearing, but the instant I heard it, it still felt so Sonic. For some reason it gives me 90s Sonic OVA vibes. And I freakin’ love it!!!
The game play looks good but I’m still a bit wary on the stiffness in Sonic’s model… But as long as the story is good then I’m fine. I just read the metal virus arc and it slapped pretty hard 😌.

This game seems to be harkening back to '06, and given that I've seen some retrospectives on '06 that state that it's not as bad as it was made out to be, this is rational.
In terms of the music and how it will be handled, I anticipate it being a bit softer and being played in a random order as you traverse through the map, sort of like how Zelda BotW or Minecraft music operates.
When he runs on the wheel thing, are those the korok like creatures in the lower right corner that someone leaked a while back? Gotta check those leaks out again and see what they said

Saw the recent trailer, I am so happy with this and now we can finally improve off of how good and high quality Unleashed was, I also love how Sage acted in the trailer because that is how you write a true menacing villain especially when they're an AI.
@ThePJShow aside from doing character analysis, would you also do reviews of sonic games, i mean the first video that you uploaded in your channel was a review of the first Sonic the Hedgehog game in 1991.
@@Neoniq41 I just don't understand why the series has regressed this far. You look at all the main trilogy of Genesis titles, they were all based on the physics, this is what made the platformer so unique. You try moving Sonic uphill and it's work, downhill he gains speed. I think SA2 perfected this in the 3D realm. Even some of the dark age games still maintained this style with only a few exceptions. Do SEGA programmers not understand the basic laws of physics?
@@synthesoul That's just not their vision lol. It's not that they CAN'T implement basic momentum into Frontiers, THEY DON'T WANT TO. Sonic Team wants everything to be piss easy with no challenge or skill required, which is why everything in Frontiers is automated to death.
The game looks so good, the environment gives it a positive atmosphere while the music is so soothing and the gameplay looks really good. The only problem is that I hope this doesn’t end up a massive hype killer like what Forces did.
Is it just me, or does this weird whirlwind finisher at 0:55 look really stupid? Sonic is suspended in the air upside down, and then randomly stops, and then randomly accelerates again in a circular motion, still hanging upside down, as if he was dragged by his ankles. I mean, as if his model in a 3D modeling software was dragged, not in a real environment. Because there is no air resistance or inertia in that motion at all. He just stops and accelerates on a dime, while performing a circular motion without even changing his posture throughout the entire move.
yeah, from all the gameplay that has been revealed, some of the animations look a little off. Plus, it doesn't really feel like the animations transition smoothly between each other, it more so snaps between them.

Honestly, I can’t imagine this game being good… All the best games in the franchise are designed as linear multi-layered rollercoaster speedruns, and this world just looks like a generic stock Unreal Engine asset... None of the open-world fangame tech demos that I’ve seen have ever been very compelling to me, and everything they’ve shown of Frontiers so far feels way too realistic to resemble anything like Mobius’s iconic loops, curves, and ramps… It feels like Sega is just trend-chasing again, because “open-world games are all the rage these days”, and I really doubt their ability to incorporate classic Sonic level design philosophy into Frontiers the way Utopia did. Not to mention the combat looks super stilted and jerky. Maybe the plot could be decent with the new writers, but I’m definitely not getting my hopes up for the gameplay…

(they mentioned no Knuckles in CD, and that only Sonic could play Story Mode, but they didn't mention a all-game boss rush mode, which leaves the door open.) 4chan leak theory time, maybe spoilers for Frontiers One old leak mentioned sonic climbing Ubisoft towers, an equipment system (technically implemented as cosmetics in Colors Ultimate), Station Square and that Sonic himself is actually in a computer simulation. what if; at the end of Origins' Story Mode, that the events of that game was a stealth sidequel behind Classic Sonic's character for Frontiers? maybe he'd just break out of a simulation Eggman was running, then breaches into the programming of the world that Sonic's simulation is built on? Sonic will just refer to it as "another me", but the game will make it clear that Classic Sonic isn't the result of interacting via time travel, nor as a (presumably separate) SEGA-mandated Sonic from another universe, at least not like a Silver/Blaze-kinda deal.

I'm trying not to get my hopes too high, but this game is pretty promising.
My biggest worries so far about the gameplay is the stiffness and automation from forces coming back, but overall I'm casually optimistic.
