Gotta go fast! Sonic the Hedgehog is the blue blur that's been racing into our hearts for over three decades; and now they are back with a new game. Ryan Bartley (who voices the new character, Sage), Colleen O’Shaughnessey (who voices Tails), Mike Pollock (who voices Eggman Robotnik), and Roger Craig Smith (who voices Sonic) are here again to share their behind-the-scenes experiences of bringing the characters to life in Sonic Frontiers. yeah that is a pretty common thing in Voice acting. You can control your vocal range easier when "the voice" is closer to just your natural speaking voice.
Well the thing is in my way, I prefer Mike was better with Jason Griffith and others that time during 4Kids Production like Sonic X and Sonic video games like Sonic Unleashed with mature script like closer Japanese actors than it is nowadays

I Love how Roger and Mike are so natural with their voices that they can switch on the fly. Sometimes it sounds like the voices just come out by complete accident

I really hope they continue with the tone in frontiers, it was really nice to feel that more grounded and "serious" tone that sonic had from SA1 to Sonic and the Black Knight

Frontiers is barely anything like SA1 - SaBK. It's dull, nothing happens for almost the entire game, it's riddled with memberberries.
If I'm not mistaken, they said it was a one time occurrence, but I really don't mind which direction Sonic games takes since I like all the ones that were used until now
The crazy wacky feel of Classic Sonic, the coolness of Adventure Era/Early 2000s, the "Shonen" a-like used for the late 2000s, the goofy and cozy used for the 2010s, and the new style from Frontiers (and I think it is a "new" style, not the same as SA1 and BK)
I speak for any fan out there when I say, Roger Craig Smith deserves to have a cameo appearance in Sonic Movie 3.

Honestly? Mike, Roger and Colleen are THE voices of these characters. The might not have been at it as long as Charles Martinet but very few people have.
Shout out to Ryan though. She's precious, very fun and Sage was a great character!
Well actually Japanese Sonic, Junichi Kanemaru has been the sole voice of Sonic since Adventure 1. Same deal with Charles as Mario :)

I loved how honest Ryan was about the hardships of the industry. Most VAs will answer "keep trying, work hard, follow your dreams and you just might make it" but she was brutally honest about how hard it was, and that is honestly refreshing.

Honestly it warms my heart knowing the VAs had a blast voicing the sonic crew in Boom (the show) It was such a fun ride and it’s sad to see it gone

I met Colleen at a charity event in my hometown, so that was cool.
I like hearing them talk about how easy it is for voice actors to get replaced by celebrities even if they've been in the role for years, voice actors really deserve more respect.

I hope we do see Sage more, because after 100%ing the main game, I loved all the tidbits of character that Sage had.
i get why people would find the frontiers performances off-putting but personally I found it so refreshing to see these characters actually come off as grounded and human. I was floored when Amy had this empathetic, ponderous tone to her dialog and didn't have any OH SONIC MY LOVE MARRY ME lines. She felt like an actual character for the first time. It made it feel like Sonic and Amy have matured a lot and are at the point in their relationship whether as friends or otherwise where they can just vibe and appreciate each other's company. I'm still pretty early into the game but I've been having an absolute blast with frontiers and I hope we get to see more Sonic content in the future that isn't afraid to adopt a more serious tone.

When they asked about their favorite song the VAs ask the guy giving the question to sing his favorite song and it was "City Escape" When he started singing it everyone sang along with him including me lol. I love when fans get together 😊
You can hear Eggman and Sonic talking in both Mike and Roger's normal voice, and I'm enjoying it.

The fact that the cast that fits the best with Sonic Boom loves Sonic Boom is just perfect.
I feel that Roger should be involved in the writing process alongside Flynn. His knack for humor is real breath of fresh air compared to the pale attempts at it from the previous writers.
It's really sad how ungrateful these "fans" are. I just wish I could meet Roger Craig Smith to tell him how good of a voice actor he is and that he truly has the absolute best voice I have ever heard. Not just in Sonic the hedgehog, but quite literally every other character he has ever voiced, even his "Say yes to the dress" narrator sounds really good and full of character somehow. This man has made my day and inspired me eversince I was a child and I can't even tell him or ever see him because of where I am, and then you have ungrateful rude manchildren like the first guy and some of these comments straight up insulting him for doing his job. Just sad, these so called "fans" did the same thing to all the other voice actors, I'm glad he at least strikes back. You go Roger, you're amazing! These people just don't deserve your incredible performance.

omg, I wasn't expecting that first question to come out like that... I didn't like Roger's Sonic voice in this game. The rest was fine. Amy's was a little weird.

I think the voice directors and direction wanted to make the game very mature and serious emotional at the role for voice actors, maybe that's why they told roger to get deeper tone for sonic 😔

I really liked the tone of Frontiers, Sonic games taking their over-the-top stories seriously again while still being fun. Reminds me of SA1 and SA2 again which is where I started with Sonic, so it feels like the characters are being themselves again. I want more of it, I hope they keep it going.

I love the way of sonic's character in frontiers is so much icon, very unique, obnoxious and incredible experience terms of his heroic actions, It's not perfect but it's quite different from the past decade along with SA2 and black knight
