People need to stop using the excuse of “it’s not the main game” it should be of equal or even better quality than the installment from over three years ago, they’ve had three years to work on this and the biggest development team in the entire series yet they can’t even do better than their previous game

It's clear DICE does not care how the game turns out since it was the initial hype that brought all the profits. So regardless of how bad the game is, people still bought into it early and invested time on their servers. So the goal has been met, now it's about how much more they can milk from the player base on a broken game with promises of fixes later down the road.
It’s a common thing when it comes to a lot communities of games, movies, etc. People don’t like new installment of a film or game, so they run back to previous installments that they probably once hated on. My opinion, I love both BF 2042 and BF V and I am extremely disappointed in the BF community for NOW praising BF V in a time when it doesn’t need it anymore.

Happens to every bf game. That’s why I stopped listening to the community. I enjoyed every single bf game, even 2042. I almost didn’t buy BFV because of the reception, yet when I played it, it blew me away. I’m in no way defending every game in the unrelease state they launched, but I did have an amazing time with each installment
@@gruijm1 my problem with BFV is the unlockable characters and the not unified soldiers outfits that break the immersion, I mean you could be completely immersed on the Io Jima map until u see a German officer on the Japanese side, and the stupid red dot sights on ur WW2 gun didn't help either, also the ttk is very long.
Not hating on Bf5 or 2042, but I really miss the feeling that Bf1 transmitted. It was easily the most immersive war game I’ve ever played and I just can’t feel the same with the newest ones.

With Battlefield V being the first Battlefield game that I ever bought, I may be biased, but I absolutely love it and always have. I have always felt that it has a special atmosphere to it, almost nostalgic in nature. The music, the crisp visuals, the sounds. All of these things and many more have now made me go back to it even 3 years after I bought it. I hope that people still play it, and that I am not the only person that has watched this video that doesn’t hate the masterpiece that is Battlefield V.

graphic details are nice and such but what really makes bfv fun for me are the movement options like sliding, back prone, side prone and crouch sprinting. im so glad theres still 100+ full servers just in europe
I’ve never played bfV or Bf2042 but to me, it feels like BFV has a lot of detail in the breathing in cold environments, the grunt by going into prone and the destruction is better slightly. Although BFV is disliked by the community I would still play it just for fun same with BF2042 because they both look great :) Edited: forgot to say, in BFV there is reflection in windows and bigger craters from explosion
DICE needs to stop removing the great details and things they did on previous BFs and adding them on the new games. BF V mechanics were not perfect but they were great. They introduced a lot of cool things. We´ve already known that DICE is not good at launches but I hope they incoporate those mechanics soon
they should experiment more. maybe deployable obstacles like sandbags but not only at specific location but everywhere. would have made mmg much better.

Would have been nice if more than half the community hadn't spent 3 years telling everyone it was the spawn of SJW satan and that they should villify it and all it's spawn, probably prompting DICE to use an earlier game as a baseline, like bf4, the game that everyone has been singing as the best in the franchise, then update it according to video game trends of the past 10 years. You know, when the trailers dropped, I knew that 2042 wasn't gonna keep much from bfv. It should have. BFV was amazing, but since more than half the community has spent 3 years shitting on it, they were never going to keep much from it.

BFV had the absolute best overall gameplay in the series; the shooting, player movement (crouch running was _such_ a wonderful addition, not to mention more realistic), vehicle handling, option to build fortifications, etc., were all top-notch. I also like how there's much less grenade spam than previous entries, because you can only pick them up from a large ammo box rather than the crates laid down by the support class. And the destruction was fantastic; obviously in the different theaters of WWII there weren't many skyscrapers, so you weren't seeing something on the scale of that from BF4 or even the Behemoth from BF1 come down. But the _amount_ of smaller buildings you could utterly decimate was very satisfying. Also, the reinforcement requests that squad leaders can make are really cool as well. Hearing that V-1 rocket buzz into the area and not knowing where it's gonna come down or whether it was even called in by your team (unless of course your squad ordered it) is such a rush, even though they were never actually used in combat. The game has its faults, no doubt, but it's absolutely the most fun I've ever had with this series, and I've been playing since 2002 when the original came out. But people just couldn't look past things that are hardly even noticeable when you're actually playing the game and paying attention to what you're trying to do. And as a result it was killed before its time. Now we'll never get the Eastern Front or the Allied invasion, and that still makes me sad.

They started with the 1940 Battle of France and the 1941-42 Africa Campaigns, then came 1943 with the invasion of Italy and the Pacific campaign. We also got a small taste of what would have been the 1944 invasion of France because if you looked at breakthrough, the maps that were originally Germany attacking against defending England became US attacking against defending Germany on all the France maps. But because of the blind hate, most of the improvements made in the game are just going to be ignored.

I feel like a lot of the details are missing because the 2042 version is meant to be a remaster of 1942 which didn’t have many impressive modern game mechanics in the first place. It would seem too far off from 1942 if it was too similar to BFV
2042 Portal mode is just them using the skins they developed for their Battle Royale mode repurposed for a Custom Games type mode. All the mechanics in 2042 carry over to Portal, including the gunplay. I don’t think any of the weapons or vehicles or anything is from a prior BF game, outside of the skins. I’d say it’s unlike what Warzone is trying to do having actual weapons unchanged from each game still be present.
But it looks interesting anyways, maybe ther r trying to expand the range of custumers, i admit that BFV is better than 2042, even i want more ww2 campains with the new graphics, but real campains old school kind uwu
Well it doesn't take an expert to see that most of the portal 1942 is basically 1942 but they slapped 4k textures on it! BfV has some impressive attention to details imho! 👍
A little disclaimer before saying "BFV Wins". Battlefield Portal is expected to be experienced as nearly as posible of what it was back in the time. For example: Battlefield 1942 you can't climb (still they decided to keep this feature), you can't heal unless a medic treats you, you can't reload M1 Grand unless the gun is empty, weapons are way limited to each class, there are 5 classes instead of 4, and kill cam works the same as back in the time. In BFBC2 You can't prone, climb walls is also limited. In BF3 movement is also limited, but you can prone. None of these can Climb walls like BFV or BF2042, dive in water or use T to fast switch gadgets because it was meant to be like this. Even the animations are nerfed, if you go standard 2042 you can clearly see top notch animations. In lesser words, this comparison should be limited to technical stuff like sounds/destruction/graphics in order to be less subjective as posible, or at least add the disclaimer. Edit: At least, to be more fair in the destruction comparison, use a wood building to destroy instead of one made of concrete. There are a few wood shafts to use your bazooka, you can see how wood particles blow away, same as BFV. Thanks for the comparison, but you can do better than this 👍
All this does not apply to the simplest animations, such as squatting or crawling. I only compared gameplay moments that do not relate to outdated mechanics. But anyway, Portal 1942 has an animation of knocking down a door, but the original 1942 doesn't have it, so why was it added to Portal? And I compare at the level of simple animations. These new battelfields are starting to look like cod while infinity wards mordern warfare looks more like a battlefield game I heard it's likely because alot of the old battelfield 3 developers are working for infinity ward while some of the old cod developers are working for dice now
Just so you know, before infinity ward was conceived they did work for EA under 2015 studios. Then Activision fired the heads of IW after MW2 and they founded Respawn entertainment working for EA again. And after the success of Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order one of the studio heads of Respawn became the boss of DICE’s LA studio. Pretty much everything is in full circle lol
If BF5 had maps like omaha/Stalingrad/Berlin or Aachen and if it didn’t have that first weird trailer and customisation stuff it would have been the best Battlefield made to date. Gameplay was really good.

Dredd Mau5 well calling customers “Bigots” and twisting history wasn’t a good idea either. The marketing was really bad too especially when they invited Trevor Noah to host their premier of the game making it look worse. DICE wasted a lot of time with their battle Royal mode when they could have fixed launch issues. People didn’t over react either when it came to the history. DICE pissed off a lot of people for rewriting history which should be concerning to everyone.
Destruction feels so natural in 2042... but now everyone is gonna say that BFV is a masterpiece, after literally not giving a fuck for it in 3 years. Many people fail to realise , BF1942 portal is made for nostalgic , Its clearly said CLASSIC battlefield. If u think this series worst than BFV, Wait until they updated eastern front and Pacific theater , where u can use Carrier, Destroyer, Battleship EVEN u can use SubMarine while soldier try to take control the island. BF1942 is the only BF u can use those and the only BF series had Ships battle including Submarine

I'm back playing bf5 I have every bf game made and 500 to 1000 hrs on each, I gave everyone the chance when everyone hated 5 I kept playing and I can say I really enjoyed playing it because of the planes and tanks and the graphics and battles were awesome. I loved 4 also I'm not digging the robot dogs nor tornadoes kinda weird to me but whatever

i have started playing bf v after a while now, and i have had some amazing games. and yes the robot dogs and the futuristic touch has really ruined bf 2042, hope they make it better in the future.
So basically bf v had crap campaign but im addicted to the multiplayer on it i love it bf 2042 im really in two minds about atm ! Graphics just seem really meh! If you get me lol ive played every bf game going and tbh hardline for sure and atm 2042 really arent taking my fancy
@@drdrummer87 I think bf2042 has better graphics overall. In BFV, we can see pixelated dirt a lot where the textures just look awful in some spots. The ground in 1942 looks way more detailed and no pixelated dirt, looks very good in the sun too. Bf2042’s lighting is also better.
I think this entire thread just proves you can’t please everybody. The majority of people ragged on BFV and the player base took a hit after the first few months. People wanted modern again we finally got it and people still will criticize it. Don’t get me wrong, 2042 is a mess right now and they have a lot of work to do, but the cycle of people disliking the “new” Battlefield is so old now. I’ve seen it over the past decade with people disliking BF4 for being too similar to BF3 and having a broken launch, BF1 not having any of the fun new modern gadgets and QOL gear, and BFV from having bugs at launch, not enough content, and still on the WW stuff. 2042 at least kind of tries to please the wider audience with Portal. 2042 will end up being thrown into the same category as the majority of those games and when the next one releases, people will compare this one to the next one saying how 2042 had this and that. Hardline is the exception. Hardline was shit. I loved it. But it was shit.
I ve played BC2, BF4, BF1 BFV and BF2042.... the best bf for me is the 5, fast movements, good destruction, nice gameplay, nice sound and nice soundtracks, it has only a problem with medic class, too much op but in general is a pleasure and not stressed to do some games on BFV

I think y'all have to remember that they're cramming a bunch of battlefield games, plus the game itself, into one package. Of course Portal isn't going to be Ultra-super-duper-mega detailed down to the T. Of course, with BFV being it's own game, they're able to add all these extravagant details and other such things into the game. Portal is a bunch of battlefield games inside of an already full game. So I feel, of course, BFV by itself is going to win in this comparison, it's its own standalone thing.
And it has literally 3 studios of developers besides dice working on it. With dice leading them and each of those studios putting all resources into this BF game which is a considerable downgrade considering it has triple the amount of people who worked on previous bf games. Can't believe they stopped making updates for battlefront 2 for this unfinished piece of crap.
Oh really whats so good about it? The reused melee animations from bf1? The sad amount of guns u can use? The sad amount of vehicles u can use? The same maps over and over again? The dead battle royale mode? The overall buggyness that feels like its still in the beta? The sad amount of gun customization? The useless feature that u can costumize your soldier and even that not alot? The not existing behemoths? The lack of gadgets? The same reused bayonet animations including the screams? The thin and weird looking soldiers? The overpowered planes? The absolute buggy and weird boat and water physics? The not existing special classes? The lack of stationary weapons? The useless (but cool) building feature? The stupid weapon and vehicle upgrades with coins? Compared to bf1 all the other battlefields can eat shit. Bf1 is not just a great game, it's a masterpiece. Just look at all the maps, weapons, behemoths, vehicles, skins for weapons and vehicles, stationary weapons like artillery and huge cannons etc. And they gave everyone ALL the DLCs for free. Bf1 is the undefeated champion of fps games.

And I _did_ actively play BF1 and all of its DLCs. I played it when it first came out and I continued playing it for years after that, even when they had stopped putting out new content for it. I didn't make the jump to BFV until 2019 when they had made improvements to it after its disastrous launch the year before, and to me the gameplay in BFV felt much more fluid and fine-tuned than it did in BF1, especially the shooting and the _very_ welcome addition of crouch running. When they fucked with the TTK I bailed, but once they reverted it back to where it was I eventually returned. You think BF1 is the best and that's fine, but don't go telling people who like a different game in the series more that they're objectively wrong just because they don't feel the same way as you. I agree that BF1 is better than any COD (a series I am _not_ a fan of in any way) and every BF game that came before it (except maybe for 2142, which I have a soft spot for), and I do think it's much better than 2042. However, I personally have had more fun in BFV than I have in any other FPS to date, thanks to the emphasis on teamwork and squadplay, the lack of grenade spam (which was one of my biggest gripes with BF1), and the overall improvements made to the shooting mechanics and player movement. If you can't accept that then I don't know what else to tell you. Keep enjoying BF1 and I'll continue to enjoy BFV.

The hand on fpp isn't really showing the player hand. It's just an overlap. There's a video explaining that thing. And before you just fkin bully dice for using overlap for fpp hand, literally every single fps game use that technique so don't complaining again. And that's a rule, even of they tried to make the fpp showing player model hand it'll make the hand looks so goddamn weird. For better explanation just watch the video. i can agree bf v details and destruction blew me away when it came out. the reason why i started battlefield was because of bad company 2 destruction they advertised heavily. and bf2042 barely has any. I do agree the big maps get tiring after a little play. I usually am the rush type and obj and close quarter maps which bf2042 literally has nothing. I really hope they can upgrade every aspect of bf2042. but then again im already hearing that they are already working on another battlefield game instead of battlefront 3 because dice said it would be too expensive and didn't believe battlefront 3 wasnt gonna do sales. I do enjoy bf2042 but I dont think the fun will last very much. and it sucks to say as I was hyped asf for it
There is just something about BF5 that still made it feel like a proper Battlefield game, when putting all the silly customization and stuff aside. 2042 and Portal are decent but much worse what you wouldve expected from a game that was developed for over 3 years...
I've never gotten a refund for a game, except for Cyberpunk and Battlefield 2042. Admittedly I didn't give it more than a couple of hours chance however, I could instantly see the visuals, movement, and the maps I played didn't compare to Battlefield V. I also got stuck in a lobby without the game starting for over 10 mins (this happened to the first 2 breakthrough games I tried). I'm sticking to Battlefield V unless I hear some massive improvements have been made, certainly not worth the £60. Battlefield V is a masterpiece, even now!
It's worth it for the portal mode inward skeptical then I remember I can play milsims and even host my own that I didnt create and play solo or with friends against bots

I actually played BF5 a lot even though it had many many flaws. But at least it was still fun. BF2042 just has no fun at all. I tried a whole month to play and enjoy the game but I just couldn't. I deleted the game last week

But those are things that don't really get added later on, like with bfv they were there at launch. I just don't think DICE will bother with doing what they said they would.
How low of a standard are you to expect these detail to be added later? These are an essential details and elements that made BF stands out from other game, and they supposed to make sure to complete all of that before the game launches, However, they actually stupid enough to ditched all of those elements. Their standards has dropped significantly compare to BFV.
I hate how the BF community are now coming in defense with BF5 after the shit DICE pulled off. They tried pushing political correctness and butcher actual history in favor of inclusion. And DICE still had the audacity to call fans intolerant for bending history.
I remember when everyone hated bfV when it came out, I always said that it was the bf with the best gameplay that had existed so far, even surpassing the mobility of the new call of duty, but what I hate most about an fps game, is the dry mobility, the gestures without "humanity" and repeaters that it has, nothing compared to its previous installment, let's go old even in bfV the pj gave a moan when falling, I had a lot of hope for this game, if only I had had the gestures of bfv..
Heart breaking that a few details were forgotten, but everyone hated bfv when it came out but now love it cuz the new game is so “horrible”. The 2042 portal feels much more gritty and WW2 like than bfv.

I believe that BF 2042 will get better with time. it just recently released, they will surely keep updating and polishing up the product. In another 6 months, it will far exceed BF V. Btw, I am a huge fan of BF V. I have been playing BF V for atleast the last 2 years, and its an amazing product. BF 2042 is in its early stage, so just wait. This is my opinion at least.
It’s hard too compare the two because the portal maps are just updated versions of the actual old map and shit, like when you throw a German grenade in portals you can still see old animations happening in the 1942 maps, bfv looks good because it’s a stand alone game itself and using all new engines and movements.

Guns looks better: BF5 Shaders: BF5 Sound: BF5 Destruction/explosion: BF5 The only things that I think portal may have an edge are small details like vehicle tracks. But that is to be expected, since BF5 is almost 4 years old.
2042 was such a letdown. Literally nothing new to offer so they put portal just to let the community have their own experience since they couldn’t provide anything new and unique

BFV is a good game and all, but I didn't abandon it because of the animations and quality, those are fire. I abandoned it because of the lack of content, eventually playing Fjell 652 100+ times becomes boring, and 2042 has that new content that I need.

Portal is mainly them just transferring old assets into a new engine , so expecting it to have a BFV quality is unrealistic. It's better to compare the base BF2042 to BFV. Like Modern Warfare RE is not as detailed as Infinte Warfare but that's understandable as Modern Warfare RE was mainly them transferring old assets into a new engine. BF Portal is a remastering not an entire new game.

It still seems incredible to me how many people just watched the controversy and never tried the endgame. The movement and gunplay is incredible, the same with the revive system and the construction system, the fact of having more limited life and ammunition also forced to play more in the objectives, the whole set made one of the battlefields that require more skill and team collaboration.

It's clear DICE does not care how the game turns out since it was the initial hype that brought all the profits. So regardless of how bad the game is, people still bought into it early and invested time on their servers. So the goal has been met, now it's about how much more they can milk from the player base on a broken game with promises of fixes later down the road.

Happens to every bf game. That’s why I stopped listening to the community. I enjoyed every single bf game, even 2042. I almost didn’t buy BFV because of the reception, yet when I played it, it blew me away. I’m in no way defending every game in the unrelease state they launched, but I did have an amazing time with each installment
@@gruijm1 my problem with BFV is the unlockable characters and the not unified soldiers outfits that break the immersion, I mean you could be completely immersed on the Io Jima map until u see a German officer on the Japanese side, and the stupid red dot sights on ur WW2 gun didn't help either, also the ttk is very long.
Despite problems in other areas, BFVs blew me away when it released with its snow, mud and blood effects and it still impresses me today

With Battlefield V being the first Battlefield game that I ever bought, I may be biased, but I absolutely love it and always have. I have always felt that it has a special atmosphere to it, almost nostalgic in nature. The music, the crisp visuals, the sounds. All of these things and many more have now made me go back to it even 3 years after I bought it. I hope that people still play it, and that I am not the only person that has watched this video that doesn’t hate the masterpiece that is Battlefield V.

graphic details are nice and such but what really makes bfv fun for me are the movement options like sliding, back prone, side prone and crouch sprinting.

I’ve never played bfV or Bf2042 but to me, it feels like BFV has a lot of detail in the breathing in cold environments, the grunt by going into prone and the destruction is better slightly. Although BFV is disliked by the community I would still play it just for fun same with BF2042 because they both look great :)

BFV was really nice tbh, as BF1, insane game, with insane atmosphere, sound design, and realism.
DICE needs to stop removing the great details and things they did on previous BFs and adding them on the new games. BF V mechanics were not perfect but they were great. They introduced a lot of cool things. We´ve already known that DICE is not good at launches but I hope they incoporate those mechanics soon
they should experiment more. maybe deployable obstacles like sandbags but not only at specific location but everywhere. would have made mmg much better.

Would have been nice if more than half the community hadn't spent 3 years telling everyone it was the spawn of SJW satan and that they should villify it and all it's spawn, probably prompting DICE to use an earlier game as a baseline, like bf4, the game that everyone has been singing as the best in the franchise, then update it according to video game trends of the past 10 years. You know, when the trailers dropped, I knew that 2042 wasn't gonna keep much from bfv. It should have. BFV was amazing, but since more than half the community has spent 3 years shitting on it, they were never going to keep much from it.

BFV had the absolute best overall gameplay in the series; the shooting, player movement (crouch running was _such_ a wonderful addition, not to mention more realistic), vehicle handling, option to build fortifications, etc., were all top-notch. I also like how there's much less grenade spam than previous entries, because you can only pick them up from a large ammo box rather than the crates laid down by the support class. And the destruction was fantastic; obviously in the different theaters of WWII there weren't many skyscrapers, so you weren't seeing something on the scale of that from BF4 or even the Behemoth from BF1 come down. But the _amount_ of smaller buildings you could utterly decimate was very satisfying. Also, the reinforcement requests that squad leaders can make are really cool as well. Hearing that V-1 rocket buzz into the area and not knowing where it's gonna come down or whether it was even called in by your team (unless of course your squad ordered it) is such a rush, even though they were never actually used in combat.
The game has its faults, no doubt, but it's absolutely the most fun I've ever had with this series, and I've been playing since 2002 when the original came out. But people just couldn't look past things that are hardly even noticeable when you're actually playing the game and paying attention to what you're trying to do. And as a result it was killed before its time. Now we'll never get the Eastern Front or the Allied invasion, and that still makes me sad.

The sheer number of people that shit on BFV without even playing it is amazing, with them saying shit like “I don’t wanna see the bionic female in game” even though that was never added to the game at all. BFV gets the gunplay and movement correct, which is very important as those are two of the things you’re going to be doing in FPS games *a lot.* They definitely should’ve given BFV another year.

They started with the 1940 Battle of France and the 1941-42 Africa Campaigns, then came 1943 with the invasion of Italy and the Pacific campaign. We also got a small taste of what would have been the 1944 invasion of France because if you looked at breakthrough, the maps that were originally Germany attacking against defending England became US attacking against defending Germany on all the France maps. But because of the blind hate, most of the improvements made in the game are just going to be ignored.

What's really going on is that we keep on getting ripped off and scammed as time continues on, this being a clear example. Pointing out minor details and major mechanics on a three year old entry of X saga (that received some very well deserved hate), is not instantly loving it, it's showing how terrible release standards are today. BF 2042 should've blown BF V away in every sense, yet it lacks basic stuff like a damn scoreboard, and to a much major extent destruction, you can't make this up.

I feel like a lot of the details are missing because the 2042 version is meant to be a remaster of 1942 which didn’t have many impressive modern game mechanics in the first place. It would seem too far off from 1942 if it was too similar to BFV

2042 Portal mode is just them using the skins they developed for their Battle Royale mode repurposed for a Custom Games type mode. All the mechanics in 2042 carry over to Portal, including the gunplay. I don’t think any of the weapons or vehicles or anything is from a prior BF game, outside of the skins. I’d say it’s unlike what Warzone is trying to do having actual weapons unchanged from each game still be present.

A little disclaimer before saying "BFV Wins".
Battlefield Portal is expected to be experienced as nearly as posible of what it was back in the time. For example: Battlefield 1942 you can't climb (still they decided to keep this feature), you can't heal unless a medic treats you, you can't reload M1 Grand unless the gun is empty, weapons are way limited to each class, there are 5 classes instead of 4, and kill cam works the same as back in the time.
In BFBC2 You can't prone, climb walls is also limited.
In BF3 movement is also limited, but you can prone.
None of these can Climb walls like BFV or BF2042, dive in water or use T to fast switch gadgets because it was meant to be like this.
Even the animations are nerfed, if you go standard 2042 you can clearly see top notch animations.
In lesser words, this comparison should be limited to technical stuff like sounds/destruction/graphics in order to be less subjective as posible, or at least add the disclaimer.
Edit: At least, to be more fair in the destruction comparison, use a wood building to destroy instead of one made of concrete. There are a few wood shafts to use your bazooka, you can see how wood particles blow away, same as BFV.

All this does not apply to the simplest animations, such as squatting or crawling. I only compared gameplay moments that do not relate to outdated mechanics. But anyway, Portal 1942 has an animation of knocking down a door, but the original 1942 doesn't have it, so why was it added to Portal? And I compare at the level of simple animations. Then Activision fired the heads of IW after MW2 and they founded Respawn entertainment working for EA again. And after the success of Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order one of the studio heads of Respawn became the boss of DICE’s LA studio. Pretty much everything is in full circle lol
If BF5 had maps like omaha/Stalingrad/Berlin or Aachen and if it didn’t have that first weird trailer and customisation stuff it would have been the best Battlefield made to date. Gameplay was really good.

Dredd Mau5 well calling customers “Bigots” and twisting history wasn’t a good idea either. The marketing was really bad too especially when they invited Trevor Noah to host their premier of the game making it look worse. DICE wasted a lot of time with their battle Royal mode when they could have fixed launch issues. People didn’t over react either when it came to the history. DICE pissed off a lot of people for rewriting history which should be concerning to everyone.

I'm back playing bf5 I have every bf game made and 500 to 1000 hrs on each, I gave everyone the chance when everyone hated 5 I kept playing and I can say I really enjoyed playing it because of the planes and tanks and the graphics and battles were awesome. I loved 4 also I'm not digging the robot dogs nor tornadoes kinda weird to me but whatever

@@drdrummer87 I think bf2042 has better graphics overall. In BFV, we can see pixelated dirt a lot where the textures just look awful in some spots. The ground in 1942 looks way more detailed and no pixelated dirt, looks very good in the sun too. Bf2042’s lighting is also better.
I think this entire thread just proves you can’t please everybody. The majority of people ragged on BFV and the player base took a hit after the first few months. People wanted modern again we finally got it and people still will criticize it. Don’t get me wrong, 2042 is a mess right now and they have a lot of work to do, but the cycle of people disliking the “new” Battlefield is so old now. I’ve seen it over the past decade with people disliking BF4 for being too similar to BF3 and having a broken launch, BF1 not having any of the fun new modern gadgets and QOL gear, and BFV from having bugs at launch, not enough content, and still on the WW stuff. 2042 at least kind of tries to please the wider audience with Portal. 2042 will end up being thrown into the same category as the majority of those games and when the next one releases, people will compare this one to the next one saying how 2042 had this and that.
Hardline is the exception. Hardline was shit. I loved it. But it was shit.
I ve played BC2, BF4, BF1 BFV and BF2042.... the best bf for me is the 5, fast movements, good destruction, nice gameplay, nice sound and nice soundtracks, it has only a problem with medic class, too much op but in general is a pleasure and not stressed to do some games on BFV

I think y'all have to remember that they're cramming a bunch of battlefield games, plus the game itself, into one package. Of course Portal isn't going to be Ultra-super-duper-mega detailed down to the T. Of course, with BFV being it's own game, they're able to add all these extravagant details and other such things into the game. Portal is a bunch of battlefield games inside of an already full game. So I feel, of course, BFV by itself is going to win in this comparison, it's its own standalone thing.

Oh really whats so good about it? The reused melee animations from bf1? The sad amount of guns u can use? The sad amount of vehicles u can use? The same maps over and over again? The dead battle royale mode? The overall buggyness that feels like its still in the beta? The sad amount of gun customization? The useless feature that u can costumize your soldier and even that not alot? The not existing behemoths? The lack of gadgets? The same reused bayonet animations including the screams? The thin and weird looking soldiers? The overpowered planes? The absolute buggy and weird boat and water physics? The not existing special classes? The lack of stationary weapons? The useless (but cool) building feature? The stupid weapon and vehicle upgrades with coins?
Compared to bf1 all the other battlefields can eat shit. Bf1 is not just a great game, it's a masterpiece. Just look at all the maps, weapons, behemoths, vehicles, skins for weapons and vehicles, stationary weapons like artillery and huge cannons etc. And they gave everyone ALL the DLCs for free.
Bf1 is the undefeated champion of fps games.

Oh yeah, those DLCs were NOT free at the start. I know because I played BF1 from the beginning. I never said that it was bad, in fact it's my second favorite game in the series after V and it revitalized my love for the franchise after how disappointed I was in BF4, but whatever. You do you.

And I _did_ actively play BF1 and all of its DLCs. I played it when it first came out and I continued playing it for years after that, even when they had stopped putting out new content for it. I didn't make the jump to BFV until 2019 when they had made improvements to it after its disastrous launch the year before, and to me the gameplay in BFV felt much more fluid and fine-tuned than it did in BF1, especially the shooting and the _very_ welcome addition of crouch running. When they fucked with the TTK I bailed, but once they reverted it back to where it was I eventually returned. You think BF1 is the best and that's fine, but don't go telling people who like a different game in the series more that they're objectively wrong just because they don't feel the same way as you. I agree that BF1 is better than any COD (a series I am _not_ a fan of in any way) and every BF game that came before it (except maybe for 2142, which I have a soft spot for), and I do think it's much better than 2042. However, I personally have had more fun in BFV than I have in any other FPS to date, thanks to the emphasis on teamwork and squadplay, the lack of grenade spam (which was one of my biggest gripes with BF1), and the overall improvements made to the shooting mechanics and player movement. If you can't accept that then I don't know what else to tell you. Keep enjoying BF1 and I'll continue to enjoy BFV.

Anyone else noticed the shadow in 1:05 does not match the player's hand movement? I couldn't believe they somehow managed to mess it up.
The hand on fpp isn't really showing the player hand. It's just an overlap. There's a video explaining that thing. And before you just fkin bully dice for using overlap for fpp hand, literally every single fps game use that technique so don't complaining again. And that's a rule, even of they tried to make the fpp showing player model hand it'll make the hand looks so goddamn weird. For better explanation just watch the video. I don't remember what's the titile but it's about fps game gin or something idk probably you just gonna get it in your recommendations

I am serious with u guys, when they launched BF1 i was deadass shocked too see how beautiful and high quality were the graphics, and thought i cannot wait for 10 years to go by and see the graphics at that time, now its almost 8 years or so and i am so disappointed, but just happened 😭😭

i can agree bf v details and destruction blew me away when it came out. the reason why i started battlefield was because of bad company 2 destruction they advertised heavily. and bf2042 barely has any. I do agree the big maps get tiring after a little play. I usually am the rush type and obj and close quarter maps which bf2042 literally has nothing. I really hope they can upgrade every aspect of bf2042. but then again im already hearing that they are already working on another battlefield game instead of battlefront 3 because dice said it would be too expensive and didn't believe battlefront 3 wasnt gonna do sales. I do enjoy bf2042 but I dont think the fun will last very much. and it sucks to say as I was hyped asf for it
There is just something about BF5 that still made it feel like a proper Battlefield game, when putting all the silly customization and stuff aside. 2042 and Portal are decent but much worse what you wouldve expected from a game that was developed for over 3 years...
I've never gotten a refund for a game, except for Cyberpunk and Battlefield 2042. Admittedly I didn't give it more than a couple of hours chance however, I could instantly see the visuals, movement, and the maps I played didn't compare to Battlefield V. I also got stuck in a lobby without the game starting for over 10 mins (this happened to the first 2 breakthrough games I tried). I'm sticking to Battlefield V unless I hear some massive improvements have been made, certainly not worth the £60. Battlefield V is a masterpiece, even now!

I actually played BF5 a lot even though it had many many flaws. But at least it was still fun. BF2042 just has no fun at all. I tried a whole month to play and enjoy the game but I just couldn't. I deleted the game last week
My conclusion from this video is that Battlefield Portal is actually better programmed than I thought.

How low of a standard are you to expect these detail to be added later? These are an essential details and elements that made BF stands out from other game, and they supposed to make sure to complete all of that before the game launches, However, they actually stupid enough to ditched all of those elements. And sometimes bars appear that say 345 right below it, The Number Changes Or sometimes little squares appear overlapping each other. When I play for a long time all of them appear at the same time.
I believe that BF 2042 will get better with time. it just recently released, they will surely keep updating and polishing up the product. In another 6 months, it will far exceed BF V. Btw, I am a huge fan of BF V. I have been playing BF V for atleast the last 2 years, and its an amazing product. BF 2042 is in its early stage, so just wait. This is my opinion at least.
It’s hard too compare the two because the portal maps are just updated versions of the actual old map and shit, like when you throw a German grenade in portals you can still see old animations happening in the 1942 maps, bfv looks good because it’s a stand alone game itself and using all new engines and movements.
BF Portal was created with old-time players in mind. EA knows that for them the most important thing is gameplay, not effects ;)

The only things that I think portal may have an edge are small details like vehicle tracks. But that is to be expected, since BF5 is almost 4 years old.

BFV is a good game and all, but I didn't abandon it because of the animations and quality, those are fire. I abandoned it because of the lack of content, eventually playing Fjell 652 100+ times becomes boring, and 2042 has that new content that I need.

They spent the bulk of those 3 years developing the A-mode , BF2042.
Portal is mainly them just transferring old assets into a new engine , so expecting it to have a BFV quality is unrealistic.
It's better to compare the base BF2042 to BFV.
Like Modern Warfare RE is not as detailed as Infinte Warfare but that's understandable as Modern Warfare RE was mainly them transferring old assets into a new engine.

I actually like the building destruction in 2042 Portal........ Except the whole mechanic that is a franchise staple is somehow missing in the god damn base game and only allowed in this one single damn map.

It still seems incredible to me how many people just watched the controversy and never tried the endgame. The movement and gunplay is incredible, the same with the revive system and the construction system, the fact of having more limited life and ammunition also forced to play more in the objectives, the whole set made one of the battlefields that require more skill and team collaboration.
