    Hallo,

Hey yes you can also use artificial plants if you want to. Real plants are always better for the climate in the terrarium.

I have a question is it good if i have an plastic lid on the crab tank or i need an mesh lid?

Hey in my opinion both is possible. With the plastic lid it is easier to keep the humidity high but yo have a higher risk of mold formation. Some openings for air exchange should help if you want to use a plastic lid. You can drill them in the middle where the crabs cannot escape or glue some pieces of mesh on the openings.

How can you "drown" a vampire crab.. Don't they have *gills⁉️* 🤔
I thought pretty much all "amphibious" crabs were _the exact opposite_ of what you described 🤨
I thought they retain their gills while evolving ways to keep them moist, letting them stay outside the water for long periods. Which would explain why they *"need"* to be close to water or eventually they dry out and suffocate‼️ (opposed to _actually terrestrial crabs_ like coconut crabs that have evolved lungs and breath air)

Hey thank you for the comment. 👍The crabs are predominantly terrestrial To be honest i have never seen a vampire crab drowning because i always provide enough possibilities for them to get out of the water. And I do not want to sacrifice my crabs to find out how long they can actually survive. 😀 it is described in the specialist literature that the the crabs are adapted to life on land and their gills are no longer designed for a permanent life under water. They need the water for keep the moist and for the molting process. Some Geosesarma species are even more specialised and hardly need water. Greetings
