Hey Geza, i really wanted to thank you for your work. Even though there are not many people watching your videos, i want you to know that your videos are really helpful for people who are interested in realisitc artillery. Keep the quality. :D
Thanks.. I really appreciate. I know this topic is somewhat complex even at this simplified level and limited people are interrested in it. I am OK with that...
There are basically three components to fire a artillery gun. You need a observation post wich gives his information to the technical assistants which does all the range, direction trajectory and change to be you used, gives all these calibrations to the gun which then puts all this information into to the gun then you can fire. If you are off target they will do corrections and the you should be on taget and fire at will
I dont think there is any practical benefit to that as MG bullets are kinetic so will not explode. There is no destructive radius or whatsoever so as interresting it seems I see no use of that..

yes.. thats correct. The only problem is that here I am alone :) anyway I just wanted to give a taste of these issues...
Hello, could you tell how to use a compass to aim a mortar, if there is a sighting circle. And is it even possible?
🤔
It is possible indeed. Not only possible but as a mortarman you need to know and practise that. I think I will make a video on that soon...
Big difference between mortar fire and artillery fire. The sights are not even the same
Have you ever heard of using a machine gun as a mortar? indirect fire from a machine gun?

ok thanks, and what about shooting from BTR and BMP using indirect fire?

@WladislawRoderick it id not really common I guess.. I mean those guns are not designed to do that...
