Your series of videos is amazing, and shows how busy id be if firing and moving to a new fire position, really what i feel arma does noother game can, althought never gonna see this in any mp missions
Thanks. Arty is an art :) Arma was developed as a fully functional military training tool ( originally called Virtual Battlespace 3 (VBS3)). So no wonder you can MOD it back to its original purpose. Though it will not be a popular shott'em up platform. You will realize military is 99.9% about training and learning and 0.1% about shooting... MP is other way around :)
Thanks. But why is aiming so complicated in the first place? Why isn't the artillery just equipped with a compass? And how to orient the aiming circle to the north. Can you provide some background information?
@@AB-ni6qe There is a precision compass in the aiming circle, the aiming circle itself is strictly made of non magnetic metal even your watches can interfere. See my other videos. And that is why guns cant have compasses, they are made of steel and you need to go some 50 m away if you want to use compass. Modern guns however have things like laser gyroscopes saving a lot of hassle. The procedure of laying is not that complex, nothing more than some basic high school trigonometry. Laying however needs to be made only once when starting a mission no need to do itvagain until repositioning...
well I did some research.. to use sine slide rule is awesome but really advanced trigonometric stuff for people with much more than 2 minutes attention span.. though I am tempted to make a video but it will be just scary as an after lunch math class :)
At first I thought the angles were measured as in the workshop industry where angles are measured with a sine ruler in degrees, minutes, and seconds. Then I realized that the scale is not 60 minutes but the Russian system of MILS. Outer ring 5231 MILS and inner ring 4266 MILS
I’m in a U.S. Army artillery unit and this video helped me understand how they lay the guns much better. Great vid
I was in French artillery, and even if we use black and red too, we don't use them as you do, so it's cool to see how others countries works.

@@gezalesko3813 absolutely, and real life has alot more factors than any game can replicate, but good starting point
Wait, why does the periscope point in the opposite direction of the barrel?

crystal clear visualisation 💡
Hello, I was always wondering what do those little red dots on the red scale mean? And what is their purpose?
That is a sinus (cosinus) sliderule.. I can make video on that if interrested
It would be awesome@@gezalesko3813 , that is the thing that nobody ever mentions
