i like how these people assume they think they know for sure that this is not the deftones. this was taken from a demo tape, which had a few songs that are also on "adrenaline". look it up before you come in here thinking you know everything.
This early stuff is so different from everything else they've done. It's too fuckin' cool, and part of me wishes they'd return to this simpler sound. I love all that they've put out, but I think this is one of my favorites - easily.
@Broncofivepointslow It IS deftones. It's proven. What's so hard to believe? It's early days, might sound different from what you're used to now, but still young Deftones.
@pigsfood27 I dont care what you say this shit is not The Deftones. Where's Chino's watery vocals? Wheres Abe's demanding kickass drumming and Stephen's heavy and strange chords? I don't believe it for a second.
Arg Etect its Chino when he was in High School. This was my demo tape that I had on DAT and it got circulated around the web. I saw them play these songs (Like Linus, Engine no 9, Some People) at the Cattle Club in sac in the late 80s and early 90s.
Lol wow I thought I loved this abnd look how many people offended by me saying I don't believe it. Okay sure it's them okay guys sorry but it's still not good so I'll keep listening to their studio albums.
i can remember chino screaming in my face in 1992
Wish that was me so badly 😔
This is clearly Deftones, and further proof of Chino's versatility as a vocalist and their incredible evolution.

I hear an influence of early smashing pumpkins, chino said once in an interview "gish" was the record that changed his life
Thank you for posting this song. It has become part of my morning soundtrack. RIP Chi.
I can hear heavy Alice In Chains influence on this album. Kudos to Deftones!!! I love AIC.
Love the collab on gore
Alice in Chains meets the Red Hot Chili Peppers
thanks for posting this. i wish there was some way to get a physical copy of this without being in sacramento in 93.

Holy shit now I know where Incubus got their inspiration on their SCIENCE album from.
Mark Servilio +1000000
Mark Servilio check out Faith No More and Mr Bungle if you already haven't.

woow Chino sounds so different. Big difference from then and now, of course.
@Broncofivepointslow It IS deftones. It's proven. What's so hard to believe? It's early days, might sound different from what you're used to now, but still young Deftones.
2:21 Wow!
Reminds me more of early Incubus.
oldschool deftones..
definitely deftones....dont get the sound twisted, that voice is all chino
That would be a nice feat since I do believe Deftones began in 88 and Incubus formed in 91.
it does sound a little like Primus, especially the guitar.
Ha that's the cover art I did years back to re-create the original cover i posted it on sharinglungs
he sounds like mike patton from faith no more
5 years after your comment. I agree.
Your smoking some of that good stuff huh, because you need to get your ears checked
love a love 4real😄
been tryna find the name of this shit forever....fucking awesome man, good looks
Sounds like Maynard James Keenan trying to be Bob Marley lol.
I can definitely hear a later bad brains influence
chino mentioned that he was heavily influenced by mike's singing style
2020 anyone amd yes I'm being that person.
@pigsfood27 ....come on dude.....I've seen the Deftones 11 times.......this is the Deftones 100%...don't be a bozo anymore

primus aint so heavy.
Primus has some heavy ass riffs over the span of their career for sure!!!
This sounds like an old Incubus recording...I'm not convinced this is the Deftones...at all..

THIS AINT DEFTONES. SOUNDS LIKE A MIX BTWN AIC and GWAR
This is Deftones 100%
This is NOT Deftones, for early Deftones look up Bumble D or Crenshaw Punch (Throwing Rocks) now compare to this.
This was my cassette that got circulated and I can assure you it's 10000% Deftones.
