This song is interesting, this here is the birth of nu metal back in it's infancy, you can hear all the influences Deftones had before they all blended into the distinctive Deftones sound. Also, a guitar solo, that's neat.
I remember finding a badass bootleg with this track and a whole shit load others from their old school stuff before adrenaline, some shitty record store in NYC. I was like 15 or something. Wish I still had it....
@ObeyTheFunktipuss yeah I know it's an awesome solo! If you wanna hear him play another one, check out 'Deftones - Simple man' which is Lynyrd Skynyrd cover. I know it's not the same because it's not really his own solo but he does a very, very great solo either way!
jajaja I haven't heard this song in a long fucking time! I think before limewire became a thing lol I was looking for lost track that weren't on the albums.
Holy shit...... Everytime I turn around and think I heared all of them I find more shit. Dude the slightly stupid reggae and nu metal in its infancy almost gives off a early red hot chilli papers vibe and old hedpe Omg. They need to redo this song.
When i first heard this song i was like? is this Deftones or a Tool demo. Not insulting, but chino really sounds like the singer from Tool in this song.
Wow...the name calling was uncalled for...but whatever you need to actually listen to deftones to be a fan. BTW... Rodleen didn't appear on any albums before White pony platinum, which is probably the album that go you LISTENING to deftones... The album in question is Like Linus-Song- Answers Do your homework before you start runnin your mouth about some bullshit. Thanks!!!
i could give no fucks about how you found out about deftones (mtv, queen of the damned, nick diaz) but dont put a comment about either of them. stick to the music.

Is no one else going to say something about the reggae?

All my respect goes towards Chino Moreno and The Deftones for staying together for such a along time \m/. Railey Adams

Reggae!! YEAAAH!! Chino pulls off that reggae jamaican accent very very smoothly.

How can you even question if thats his voice knIfeParty3??? Seriously, any Deftones fan can tell. His voice is so distinct, unlike any others.
damn man they came a long way ,but this is still a impressive album from them.
Chino could pull off anything!! Period!
my big cuzmo use to listen to this song when he and his homies use to smoking a big bag of ganja in the early 2000s lol good memories from back then.
I'm not a fan of reggae, but I have to say this is amazing!
@ObeyTheFunktipuss Oh wait! Stephen doesn't play the solo in Simple man at al, it's a guy named Joe Fraulob... I feel reeeeeeeeeaaaaally stupid now!
I remember finding a badass bootleg with this track and a whole shit load others from their old school stuff before adrenaline, some shitty record store in NYC. I was like 15 or something. Wish I still had it....
Who else thought Reggae and Nu Metal shall be Mixed like this one?
@askabz22 When I hear this song, Chinos Voice isn't the only thing that gets hard... And I'm a straight dude.
@ObeyTheFunktipuss yeah I know it's an awesome solo! If you wanna hear him play another one, check out 'Deftones - Simple man' which is Lynyrd Skynyrd cover. I know it's not the same because it's not really his own solo but he does a very, very great solo either way!

Best Deftones song ever hands down
@pppaaatttrrriiikkk1 Actually Steph Carpenter did not play the solo on the Simple Man cover, Joe Fraulob played on that song.
deftones is dope!
I think they did some gigs together when they started. I know FAR knew Tool and they were tight with Deftones.
@rzuffiq
not the greatest but one of the best :D
the contrast between refrain and strophe...wuhu
the refrain himself...woah just blasting me away...

Holy shit...... Everytime I turn around and think I heared all of them I find more shit. Dude the slightly stupid reggae and nu metal in its infancy almost gives off a early red hot chilli papers vibe and old hedpe Omg. They need to redo this song.
