@Red Watch I am 36 and when I was in middle school we had a typing teacher that was a Vietnam vet (old dude about to retire). He would stare out the window into this massive field while we worked on our projects. One day he drives home the point about dotting I's and crossing T's by comparing our lack of care to his lack of care of his new M16. The troops were told to clean them frequently but word on the street was they wouldnt jam. First firefight/ambush he was in he had to disassemble his rifle in the fight to get it right. Craziest coolest shit any of us had ever heard in public school. We were typing on typewriters too.

@@ShawnRyanShow He tends to stay pretty close to his scripted story in the majority of his other public appearances but I have no doubt you would get some new stories from him.
I really like that his show is about the guest and that he lets his guest talk without cutting them off every 45 seconds like most interviews do. Shawn is one of the best at asking questions and getting a 20 minute response without needing to interrupt.
I also joined in 2010 and did not deploy despite being an 11B. It is my greatest regret. I am constantly reminding myself that God is in control and that I’ve trusted Him to direct my path. Doesn’t really make the regret go away but it does add perspective.
When I teach my kids about what happened in the world before they were born, I will be able to show them a few the men that fought for the freedoms that we all have been blessed to enjoy. I am grateful that I can show my kids true patriots. Because of the work you, Mike Ritland, Shawn Ryan, and many others do to bring into focus the realities and aspects of war, I am forever grateful for your willingness to serve, sacrifice and share with us all your experiences.
Who else liked this video before even watching it? Can we take a pause and appreciate the quality, duration and the detail of ALL Shawn's videos. I felt like I was in a movie theatre. Best production on youtube!! Can we have Rut or O'neil on next?
Over the last few years listening to Mike Ritland’s podcast and other interviews he’s been the subject of, I’ve really come to respect him. He is measured, thoughtful and speaks his mind all while maintaining a respect for his audience and the people he is interviewing. His accomplishments in the SEALS and in civilian life are pretty remarkable, always humble when they come up in discussion. Much appreciated, Mike.
As a Black dude from California who spent almost EVERY Summer up to 18 IN WATERLOO it sucks to hear what happened to Mike as a kid ( I can relate it was the first place I was called the N word at 8 years old). But it produced one of the most bad ass dudes to defend our country. RESPECT MIKE! AWESOME SHOW V.E.!!!
Yeah as a black man myself attacking people based on their color is racist. That type of shit doesn't solve anything just creates more hate. Individuals responsible are to be held accountable not an entire skin color. OFC you get upset when something shitty happens or you get called a racial slur or have people treat you differently but thankfully here in Charleston, SC i've gotten on almost entirely fine. What's interesting is the South has this reputation for racism yet I have had more issues when I go up north than ever living down here.
Hands down the most professionally produced podcast out there. Can’t thank you enough for your service and your podcast, was very much looking forward to this one. God bless y’all and this great country.

It is awesome beyond words how this training master is speaking about parenthood. This man is excellent at training dogs. Best of the best. I happen to know dog trainers and they are something else on dealing with people too. We are all animals. When I see the respect he has for his parents and the scrutiny he put on himself to raise his kids to that level... It just bring pure respect in me. Thanks to bring such humans to the show. It's truly mesmerising
Enjoying the chats with all the Seals. This is premium content! Especially, when said battle hardened operators actually know and feel in their heart that dogs really are better than humans. That’s an honorable job he is doing by saving the service dogs of the United States Armed Forces. These are basically tier 1 operators who go on solo missions at times and save humans lives regularly. It was a tragedy for the small fraction of service dogs whose handlers weren’t able to adopt them into civilian life. Thanks, Mike!

Man the last part of this interview when he talks about the struggles of starting a company and how it’s not for everyone really hit home. I am in the 4th quarter of my 1st year as a small business owner. With the times we are in, it has been incredibly hard. Moving money around and playing with your credit cards, not knowing how your gonna make it next month. It can drag you through the scariest financial situations imaginable. Quitting has crossed my mind multiple times in this year. Mr. Ritland nailed it on the head though when he said if you never give up you will find a way through. I am finally starting to find that breathing room, and man is it so rewarding when you look back at what you have made it through. I am thankful for that struggle as it has taught me so much about myself and motivated me even more.

You're obsessed?? I was just telling a friend that I watch these episodes almost non-stop. At work, I only pause it when I am handling a situation or to use the bathroom. At home, almost the same. Turn off only to sleep or go run an errand. But I have been binge-watching this show and Shawn's videos all this past week.

As a 2nd MARDIV Devil Dog OEF/OIF veteran and a 13 year entrepreneur I’ve watched this video from start to finish multiple times. This video hits the reset button on my nerve to give up. Going back to the seal that gave up on the platform. It’s a true testament that the easy way is not the solution to the problem. Yea, he made a decision but a decision that he regrets today for taking the easy route. As Mike said make a decision for the long term. Thanks fellas for keeping me moving on from the quit feeling for like the 5th time. Semper Fi

I’ll look into him.
@@ShawnRyanShow + 1
I really like that his show is about the guest and that he lets his guest talk without cutting them off every 45 seconds like most interviews do. Shawn is one of the best at asking questions and getting a 20 minute response without needing to interrupt.
I joined the Army in 2010. CBRN. I never got to deploy. I will always be grateful and full of regret for that. Great work soldier.
Youre not alone. Just remind yourself it wasnt your call. Deploying is up to the higher ups. Was in afghan for a yr and saw nothing kinetic.
I also joined in 2010 and did not deploy despite being an 11B. It is my greatest regret. I am constantly reminding myself that God is in control and that I’ve trusted Him to direct my path. Doesn’t really make the regret go away but it does add perspective.
Best response to “Must be nice” is to look at them and smile, then say”It is”
When I teach my kids about what happened in the world before they were born, I will be able to show them a few the men that fought for the freedoms that we all have been blessed to enjoy. I am grateful that I can show my kids true patriots. Because of the work you, Mike Ritland, Shawn Ryan, and many others do to bring into focus the realities and aspects of war, I am forever grateful for your willingness to serve, sacrifice and share with us all your experiences.
I’ve read Mike’s books. Really helped me wrap my mind around being a better dog owner. Love his content.
Same here. Good looking Doberman you have there too 🙂
Who else liked this video before even watching it? Can we take a pause and appreciate the quality, duration and the detail of ALL Shawn's videos. I felt like I was in a movie theatre. Best production on youtube!! Can we have Rut or O'neil on next?
3 years later and I still enjoy watching every time. The true #1 podcast
When you’re good, you tell people, when you’re great, people tell you. You guys are both GREAT! Much respect and thanks fellas!
I get cold chills with even just the intro, got a bangin production team, this is done right.
Thank you, they kicked ass!
Cheers man 🍻 🇺🇸
Yeah as a black man myself attacking people based on their color is racist.
That dude that replaced the failed seal is an awesome story. That's got to be once in a lifetime.
I connected with Mike 100% about the growing up in the the 80s being born in the 70's, born 1974. I miss everything he mentioned, lol
Mike is a master of the language, a student of philosophy and communication. He has great command of the English language.
Sean I'm speechless again, like the rest of your special guests Mr Ritland is uncommon amongst the uncommon. Another stellar show.
Especially his mastery of the "F" word
@@natas0733 it sure seems like his favorite word! 🤣
The type of people I feel more comfortable hanging around with. 🤷🏻♀️
@@SG-MT for sure! I hope it didn't sound like i thought that was a bad thing.
Wanna get coffee? Haha
Hands down the most professionally produced podcast out there. Can’t thank you enough for your service and your podcast, was very much looking forward to this one. God bless y’all and this great country.
I feel honored. I am honored to have witnessed this incredible human being, sacrificed his everything to fight for our country. And to witness this man continue to move the world, is humbling to see. Thank you is not enough. I am signing up myself to better educate my relationships with my dogs.
Mike Ritland like the dogs he handles is absolutely inspiring. Such an honor to hear his story.
Not only is this guy a badass but he's well spoken and extremely self aware. Solid human being. Thank you for your service.🇺🇸
I’m always impressed at how this is the only thing I can ever sit and watch in one sitting and still want more and now every time the quality of filming and editing gets better and better. It’s incredible
I’m happy to hear that. I took the support from patreon and put together a film crew.
@@ShawnRyanShow one thing i know to be true following you for 3 or 4 years is you always reinvest for a better product for the people that support you. Amazing
@@ShawnRyanShow and maybe an Alpaca or two...or more. Hahaha
2000 a day 😪 ..I never knew it was that high. Makes my heart hurt. Bless you Mike Rittland! Thanks Shawn for doing this one.
It was an honor.
I have been watching Mike Ritland's vids on YT for a while. I cant say enough good things about the guy. Straight up solid human!
Thank you for not becoming racist because a group of people were terrible. It gives me hope for society.
It's hard to get work done because I just listen to this damn thing all day
I have listened to so many of the mike drop podcasts. Never has he strung together so much info on his career in just a few hours. THIS WAS FUCKING AWESOME! Great show!
Went Straight to the Netflix link and recommended this show would fucken love to see this show on Netflix 🤙love from Australia
It's truly mesmerising
enjoyed every second of this man's stories - thank you all for your service
Enjoying the chats with all the Seals. This is premium content! Especially, when said battle hardened operators actually know and feel in their heart that dogs really are better than humans. That’s an honorable job he is doing by saving the service dogs of the United States Armed Forces. These are basically tier 1 operators who go on solo missions at times and save humans lives regularly. It was a tragedy for the small fraction of service dogs whose handlers weren’t able to adopt them into civilian life. Thanks, Mike!
Hey Shawn! I'm a dude from Sweden watching this and I am or will be addicted to these Navy seal stories. I don't think there is nothing I haven't seen on youtube related to seals. Thanks for all the videos you upload and god bless you Americans! Hope this was readable due to all the missed english lessons back in school, haha! Thank you and have a good week!!
The world changed after the Cole really. God bless Mike & Shawn. Thanks for your service
The life lessons you guys bring along with the stories, is more of what young men amd women need to hear amd learn from. We would be a far better society if we used the ups and downs of what we see in others to get through our own struggles. Thank you guys.
I agree and that’s what I’m trying to do. I really appreciate that.
I have been listening to ALL ur videos as I drive across our country.
1.) Thank you and all the people who served. Blessings 🇺🇸
2.) I'm going to look into this Simplisafe for my home as I was home 6wks last year and I need to protect my wife as you all have.
Once again,
THANK YOU ALL.

Love this show man! I have been preparing myself to enlist into the US army working on getting my GED now. Talked to a recruiter 2 days ago. Trying to turn my life around for the better of myself , my family and for this bad ass country. Keep up with the content man you guys are fucking heroes.
You’re making moves in a very positive direction. Congratulations! Do something extraordinary, and I’ll see you on my show.
Drew I truly hope you are able to follow your dreams. I can tell you from my experience is you never get that time or chance again. I truly hope the best for you brother.
I will definitely be tuning in. Now all we need is Shawn to make it on the joe rogan podcast.
Shawn its a no brainer making a Netflix show as you have nothing but the highest quality and content .quality work thank-you
Phenomenal interview in all aspects. As a shelter worker I thoroughly stand behind his sentiments towards responsible dog owners needing to properly train their animals and themselves.
I'm very excited about this episode. Can't wait to see Mike as the interviewee rather than the interviewer. All of the episodes have been fantastic Shawn. Keep up the fantastic work.
HAve you seen Mike on Valuetainment. GREAT interview he was apart of.
You're going to love this one.
@@theshepherd1989 I have not. Thanks for the recommendation.
Thank you Shawn and Mike for everything you have done for our country. Also thank you for all the awesome content you put out on UA-cam. I hope you and your families are doing well. God bless you we love you and thank you again for everything.
Thanks for watching!
Vigilance Elite it’s an honor
“Everyone wants to grab my package” oh Shawn you have no idea man
haha
This show is exceptional. It should be watched by all men across the world. Honour, integrity, courage, humility, failure, success.
I just want to say Thank you guys. I recently subscribed and started watching your videos Shawn and I can't get enough of it. I love hearing these heros willing to share their stories. This interview hit home for me a lot because of Mike's words of wisdom about entrepreneurship. I recently started my own business and I have had those months of not knowing like he talked about. I agree it's not for everybody. I personally have been discouraged a lot since I started but listening to you guys and realizing there are people out there who have had the same obstacles and much worse and still persevered really encourages me to just keep grinding. Thank you guys so much for your service to our country! God bless you guys! I pray for prosperity and joy for you all for years to come!!

I was born in the early 70s life was so much better for everyone it still blows me away how soft the kids are today. As a father of two kids and looking after loads of there friends because of so many shit mother’s and father’s around these days. I shear a lot of your video’s to give these real world experience thanks guys. 🇦🇺
i have watcheed mike ritland interveiw a lot of people on his show ths should be real good, really enjoying watching your show the production quality is first class.
Just a fantastic show Shawn. I've watched this one twice now. Mike is just a super straight forward kind of guy who is great to listen to. Thanks for all the shows and people you have on.
Shawn thank you and Mike and the rest of our military for protecting me my family from harm. You guys are true hero’s. God bless you all.
Man, I’m loving this series. Badass guest, badass host. I wanted to say thanks for the awesome words you said about my brothers and my Marine Corps on the episode with Nick. Appreciate you, Shawn.
It was a real pleasure. Thank you
Another amazing interview. I love hearing this guy talk. He’s a badass but humble and polite. His voice would make Chuck Norris sound soft 😂. He would have been a great teammate to have. Thank you for your service brother.
I really enjoyed your interview on the Mike Drop show. Glad to see the tables turned, and looking forward to your questions. 🤘🏻
His podcast is amazing. The guests are top-notch operators, that we Americans owe a debt of gratitude!
Awesome show as always. I was in the Kuwaiti Navy base with ACB-1 when The Teams came through. I was the Watch Capt in the Galley there. When I was working I always hooked up the team guys with extra food and what ever.
It is going to be great to see Mike get interviewed. Just finished watching his interview of you. Lots of respect for all of your guests and his.
I just discovered this show and I’m obsessed. I can’t wait to see this show make it to Netflix!
Thank you 🙏🏻
You're obsessed?? I was just telling a friend that I watch these episodes almost non-stop. At work, I only pause it when I am handling a situation or to use the bathroom. At home, almost the same. Turn off only to sleep or go run an errand. But I have been binge-watching this show and Shawn's videos all this past week.
Man this is a great podcast. I listen while I work, and my day slowly slips away as I'm taken in by the stories. Thanks for your service, and these conversations.
Semper Fi
2 of thee most influential men I personally listen to & learn from together for an awesome interview TY!
These are the best. Shawn and Mike seem like great dudes. Became a fan of these guys when I was in Iraq. Thanks for the great content
Thank you for watching. Cheers 🍻
I agree, two of the best podcasts around. Always time well spent.
Mike really opened up on this one. Couldn't stop listening to this interview. Great work Shawn!
Keep up the great work Shawn I'm looking forward to this one! Thank you for all that you do 🇺🇲
Thank you! This one is a 2 part series.
So I’ve always said to my friends. If your not out there, your not out there! So that means if your not after it every day nothing will come your way. 🇺🇸💪
Love your channel. I recently had eye surgery that required me to lie flat for hours on end, I basically rehabbed on your channel. Not a frogman, not even close, but love hearing their stories! RESPECT! God bless you all and thanks for your service and dedication to this Great Country. The Shipley interview….whoa!
Love this guy Shawn! I am a dog lover to my core. I love animals period, but dogs are special. I aint some weirdo, like I believe in, and have took part in ethical hunting of all kinds, so please don't figure me for some PETA nut case! Lol... But dogs, I love with my whole heart, and I believe in Mike's mission and organization. Awesome cause man. Thank You guys for Your service and defense of our Country. Words will never be enough. My family and I are eternally grateful. God bless You guys and Your's, and God bless the United States of America. 🙏🏻🇺🇲
I want to see this show on Netflix.
Me too. Thank you 🙏🏻
This would be an absolutely epic show. Interview one or two guys an episode. Have them walk through there career/life and one or two missions that got hairy. Best tv out there!
Definitely. This is legit shit right here. Every episode is phenomenal from start to finish.
Definitely. This is legit shit right here. Every episode is phenomenal from start to finish.
Vigilance Elite is rather get y’all your own platform... something like Colion Noir & Warrior Poet talk about in their home defense road rage interview. Not to compare your channels you’re all unique but one common thread is our rights & responsibility to protect the good & innocent. No disrespect to anyone just talking bout supporting each other & coming up with a unique freedom based, live & let live platform away from UA-cam or big-tech that makes it harder to be shadow-banned or controlled or removed/deleted/book-burned. & or them controlling the narratives.
Literally love this channel Shawn & this one one of my favorite interviews so far. 005! Y’all awareness, knowledge & bravery second to none, yet y’alls not hot heads & seem to have used your experiences & wisdom to stew into empathy & understanding
I'm so happy to find this channel and the stories are just incredible! Thank you all for what you did.
I went in the NAV in 92 so started peacetime service and saw first hand all the base closers and decommissioning of almost half the fleet and when funding was at an all time low so can imagine how Underequipped the teams were at the beginning of the Iraqi war.. for Mike to roll like he did just makes me proud of the community. RESPECT!
Wildman can't believe this is 4 years ago.. I'm watching this in November 24.. Mike and Shawn both are killing it on there channels. Feel very blessed and very lucky that we had these guys an a few more giving us the real true information we have been missing
You know I'm just going back to watch all the videos from the episode #1 and going back to the current episodes, but this had so many life gems. I was in a low spot, and this made me see that it's not just me, even team dudes hit the wall, but it's how you overcome. The last hour of this episode was all gems.
U should get Andy Stupf on here or go on his podcast. Much respect
Stumpf.
Totally agree! Stumpf would be a great guest.
I’m pretty sure both of these guys were on Andy’s podcast. At least mike definitely was
Andy was on mikes and so was Shawn. But that’s it
Yes and mike glover
I love this podcast/episode. I think I've listened to it 3-4 times and reminds me of so many good things with my life.
It never gets old along with many others from Shawn Ryan show and Mike drop
