I break down. My mind awakes in the wake of hysteria. It's happening again. I see your face in the place where I rest my head. I only sleep with my eyes wide open. I blame myself. I shame myself. Death from the front lines showing up on my front doorstep. You'll never know the guilt I felt from surviving or know the love and loss that's always on repeat. I'm just a living casualty. I thought I left the fight behind back overseas and maybe I'm denied a full recovery. I've gone M.I.A. I'll never find me. I can't escape the flashbacks. We attacked. They shot back. The skies turned black. I watched my friend take his last breath. I set aside my humanity. How can I feel when I've been trained for apathy? I put my life on the line. At what cost? My first kill became the death of me. Forget everything you've known and come to believe. Stripped down and torn apart. Replace the heart. You are a machine. Somewhere I know there's a soul trapped in between. Where do I go from here when the smoke clears and the bodies appear? No time for fear as death rains from the air. My knees collapse and I brace for the impact. The bloodshed that never ends, the echo that runs through my head; it's a war that followed me home.
Seeing all the positive comments and reactions is literally mind blowing. We worked so hard in the studio/video to really capture what we were trying to convey with this song. This is also a true story about a good friend who served 2 tours overseas. He was very vulnerable and we can’t thank him enough. We’d like to say thank you to him and all that serve. 🇺🇸 ❤️

I wanted to serve my my country all my life ,a severe motorcycle accident left me permanently disabled in 1990 ,days before Desert Storm 😑
My father just recently passed 😑 he was U.S. Army retired, Field artillery 12B Mechanical engineer.
I do my best to carry him as a mechanical engineer for GM myself.

The War That Followed Me Home is a song that has a ton of meaning, a special place in my heart forever, and it gets listened to daily. It helps more than you could ever understand for my PTSD from the Army. I'm just a living casualty most days. I feel guilty every day for surviving...As a Veteran who deployed twice, thank you for this song. It helps more than you know. I can't wait for concert tours to kick off again, so I can lose my mind in the pit, cry, and everything in between to this song. Oh so many emotions. Much love

@the missile skud How someone feels towards another person's scream is subjective, so I personally like it. I personally wouldn't call it strain, it sounds more like that's what his scream sounds like. Also, if you're trying to do growls and lows, it's not like a switch in octave because sure a scream can have a tonal value, but generally people categorize them as highs, mids, and lows. Mike using lows is for the heavy-hitting stylistic effect, which wouldn't be achieved with mids or highs.
Originally, Silent Planet was what I was most excited about this year... but these singles have pushed you guys to the top for me now. 5/7 can't come fast enough!!

Thank you for this. My brother Dustin killed himself May 22nd 2012 when he returned home to Camp Lejune from his fifth tour to over seas. This touches my soul like no other. Literally in tears right now.
Guys I’m a Vet I got out in 05 this songs is so amazing it stirs some feelings up but it almost helps because the music. Something about myself and music it helps me heal and keeps me grounded. Thank you guys so much for releasing such a great song.

USMC (Air Wing) veteran here. I had my issues while in but I never had to deal with this kind of stuff. Now I work at the VA in the Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program for veterans. It’s heartbreaking to hear these stories from so many of my brothers in arms, and hearing about the horror that they see. It’s heart breaking to hear screaming in the night because of night terrors. It’s heartbreaking seeing the tears, as they talk about the brothers lost. Thanks for helping bring a little awareness to these issues.

This is an experience. I’m honestly speechless.
The bounciness of the vocals from the screamer is something unique that I don't see a lot and I love it.
As a former member of the united states army and a member who deployed multiple times this song fits as a battle an endless battle of what followed me home.. I love your band
I’m not in the army, but I can tell that all the trauma being in it can really mess up someone, even to the point when they feel guilt because they were able to survive, but yet their comrades weren’t able to get that luxury, for those who are in the military, you make an honorable sacrifice, willing to risk life and death to defend this country, for that I salute you

I came back from Iraq in 2009. And hearing this song is everything that I have felt since then. It’s like you guys were in my head and put my thoughts too music.
Last year I lost my mind quite literally. I spent 2022 in an inpatient facility for my PTSD. This hits home. Thanks for making this music and this song. I thought having PTSD made me weak. I ignored the trauma from combat. It nearly killed me.

I don't think I've ever really been so excited for an album release outside of the secular world in my years of listening to music. Super heavy and super melodic, and I just absolutely love the way you approach both sides. I also love how you're bringing different issues to the table and discussing them, bringing forth voices that definitely need to be heard. Listened to your music just last night as I was struggling fighting addiction and anxious perfectionist thoughts. I WILL NOT SURVIVE was a complete masterpiece. I'd give it my number two spot in releases for the year. The only reason it's not number one overall is because how difficult it is to listen to. But artistically, it's among some the best music ever. I honestly mean that. This band is a very special hidden gem that I wish would blow up soon.

Ok so this is only the second song I have heard so far. The first one was "price of grace" and damn dude, that song was so freaking emotional. And you hit me in the feels. My brother committed "unalive" back in 2014 while i was in Afghanistan. I couldn't vocalize the emotions. You guys did it. Thank you so much. This song too dudes! Man craziest thing I imagined another song that I really like would have a music video that would have lights how they are in this music video where the heaviness is red and the beautiful clean vocals turned the brighter white color, and I’m so glad it was this song, fit so well! And to think I first heard of this band from price of grace definitely checking out more !!!
