Such an emotional and personal song portrayed very well through pure heaviness. Reminds me a bit of some of Whitechapel's vibes. Harsh vocals and guitars take the cake here for me. Not the biiiiiggggest fan of the cleans but still way better than a lot of the whiny shit you hear in a lot of metal these days but with a few production tweaks i think it could sound great. Will be looking out for you guys, cheers!

i agree with this statement, this song is not only heavy in sound but lyrically its the most heavy emotional roller-coaster the ever existed. Not just random heavy heaviness, but a meaningful heaviness
I'm not normally a big fan of the really high pitched metalcore choruses but I'm a huge fan of the chorus on this song

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but one if the members of Convictions mentioned the guitars are tuned in G#, double drop G#, and triple drop G# at the end. Idek how thats possible but clearly the song is proof
i feel they pitch shifted from g# to double drop g# and then went into the daw and transposed from g# another octave lower.

Thank you so much for reacting to this! I've listened to Convictions for a while and when this song came out I knew it had to blow up! Btw, they said this isn't even the heaviest song on the upcoming album! Also, their guitarist stated that the recording was in fact real as well which really makes it hit a little harder for me.

I'm kinda disappointed that some bands sacrifice the notes for pure heavyness. I mean, look at bands like: Metallica, Whitechapel, Slayer, Gojira. They're super heavy, but you can distinguish musical notes, here, or in case of other modern bands like Humanitie's Last Breath, etc, you can't.
This is only my oppinion, as a pianist/keyboardist.
Another think I didn't like was the too poppy chorus/.
I totally agree, although I think the way HLB does it works, they still got all their ambience and definitely some melodies, bands like reflections or this right here and many others fail at this
Theyre not quite as heavy though. Obviously its all down to taste, but they are objectively not really as heavy as this.

I get where you’re coming from, but keep in mind these bands are going for pure heaviness, they are purposefully trying to make a purely rhythmic driven sound (most of the time). The point is not usually to be super melodic. Cheers🤘
