It's a cool crisp fall morning today in Arizona, I called into work sick, and I'm currently drinking red stripes on the roof with my cat eating McDonald's breakfast. Simon would be proud ! 🍺😺🥲
@@Pfarrer29 While I'm 100% with you on that one, chaps, I'll also pronounce these the English way here in the UK or Stateside, as otherwise people won't understand you. Same thing with Spanish, Polish, Czech beers, etc 😄
Not sure if this is too late Simon but.. something on radio today said Chepstow race course think it was, doing an Oktoberfest beer and food festival on 11th or 12th I think of October. Think you being there and covering the experience would be gold.
You’re right, I’ve just had a Google. 11th and 12th but it’s combined with horse racing too. £29 day entry! 😳 so I’ll be giving that a miss! But yes, Simon would do well to get himself there for a sniff around.
I was under the impression that German s aren't particularly interested in unfiltered Beers ...fought it was more of a uk/America thing? Could be wrong through.
Go to Wiesn in Munich this year. Weather forecast is so-so. This means you'll find free seats in the huge beer tents maybe except on Fridays and Saturdays. Plus: the real party starts up from 8 pm and I do know what I'm talking about! -- Greets from St. Petersburg, Paul
Got a delivery arriving this afternoon of paulaner Oktoberfest , paulaner hell, warsteiner , krombacher and pilsner urquell from majestic wines ....cant wait 🍺🕺
Back in the day , ie 70s we used to call the lowenbrau , laughing brew because it was stronger than most lagers at the time .OK ignoring Carly Spec and the horrible Super lager .
Yeah, I only saw the paulaner in supermarkets. But if I remember correctly the beverage store chain Hol'ab had all of the 6 Octoberfest beers except the Augustiner. I'll check at the local Trinkgut next week what they have and hope that they have some of the Canstatter Wasen beers (Stuttgart > Munich for me 😉)
Love your channel but if you’re reviewing German beer please bear in mind the earlier comments about pronounciation. It really grates if it’s wrong. Lowenbrau is pronounced “Lervenbroy” Paulaner is pronounced “Pow-larner” Spaten is pronounced “Shpairten” and Hofbrau is “”Hoff-broy.” And yes, I omitted all the umlauts which effect pronounciation because on old iPad I couldn’t be arsed! Slainte. 👍🍺
Is your opinion of the beers on here heavily reliant on your sponsor, you say "I could drink this all day", so your sponsor gets load of business...... not too sure about that, in the past you've said what you really think without mentioning a sponsor..... up to you but more and more mentioning the sponsor is going make people think b4 clicking, that's my opinion, make of it what u will
Not to bang on about this but I think your whole scoring system needs a bit of a rethink. You spend the entire video raving about how awesome these beers are, then you give one of them a lower score than you've given to trash macro beers in previous reviews. That can't be right 🤣
@@Regi869 Of course. I was just saying the scores he gives can seem a little random and don't always reflect what he's saying throughout the reviews. I still enjoy his videos.
Love German beers and this is down to you Simon watching all your videos, keep up the great work.

I'm grilling Nando's chicken in Wisconsin drinking HB Octoberfest. No cat someone from Springfield eat him
How can I migrate to the US? I would like to live and work in the US.
First ! Just a tip to perfect your German : At the end the 'brau' is pronounced like 'broy' 😁
Haha yes, spot on. Löwenbräu is closer to Lerv-en broy. Another he gets consistently wrong is Pow-larn-uh.

Real German beer is just next level. Always been my favourite.
My favourite beer time of year - these fantastic German Marzens/Festbiers AND the darker UK autumnal ales coming thru. Beer-vana!!

It would be interesting for these brewers to try producing unfiltered versions of their Oktoberfestbiers.

@@davidspence5567 You're probably right, but could you imagine drinking some of these beers unfiltered?
Good video. I used to like draught Lowenbrau but you don’t see it anymore- at least not where I live.
2 absolutely wonderful beers you have there.

One great beer against another ...

For me the hofbrau is a touch cleaner.

no Lowenbrau in my German supermarkets yet..... getting a bit worried

Has he eaten the cat? I thought that was just a Hatian thing in America.
I'm getting worried about the cat
Does anyone know why in the US we don’t get Lowebrau and Augustiner Oktoberfest
Its Larry Finks fault 😂 as is everything
Spaten vs horbrau
Any jobs going mate???
