A-Rod hitting 2 HR and 7 RBI in the last game of the 2009 season kept his 30HR/100RBI streak alive for the 12th straight year. He also did that in the same inning. Dude was one of the game’s greatest talents.
Idk about greatest talents... but definitely one of the best players. He was good with juice, since high school, but idk if he's an time talent. Top 50 all time , no doubt. Many would put him top 20. I think 30-40 is his rank
Alex was juicing in high school. Hard to evaluate him since his whole career was enhanced. Hes one of the few to do it since even before entering mlb. Can't know his natural talent because there's no sample without juice
@@kenw2225don’t spit out rumors you can’t prove. Just because his high school teammates said that they thought he did shouldn’t make it canon. Thought processes like these are what led to Trevor Bauer situations
Alex as a string bean when he first came up was still incredible. If you witnessed it in real time, you know it was universally accepted that he was one of the greatest athletes anyone had ever watched. Absolute rocket launcher for an arm. Blazing speed. Great bat to ball skills. Great power. Great defense. Just a true phenom. Steroids or not, he is one of the best to ever lace up a pair of cleats.
It's a shame it was tainted by steroids, he was gonna be great no matter what. His rookie season was one of the best ever, those numbers were ridiculous for anyone, not just for a rookie.
@@WanerPena I agree that A-Rod had real talent and actually produced monster career stat. Even Sadaharu Oh thought A-Rod could be the one who beat his career HR record. But recently, watching Judge, I think we finally see someone again with real potential to put up some ridiculous stat since A-Rod.
@@WanerPena I'd agree that he's the most complete player behind Bonds. But what Judge is doing offensively right now trumps anything A Rod ever did. This is coming from a lifelong Yankee fan that saw A Rod's entire career live from start to finish. A Rod's career high OPS+ was 176. Judge is currently in his 2nd season with 200+ at 226. FIFTY PERCENT HIGHER than A Rod's career high. To put that into perspective, when A Rod had a 176, the next closest guy had a 174. When Mike Trout posted a 198 OPS+ in 2018 (career high), Mookie was 9 points behind him. Judge is doing things only Bonds and Ruth have done. Also, there's the fact that the MLB average batting average when A Rod was peaked was .264. Right now it's .238. K/9 when A Rod peaked was 6.4. Right now its 8.2. Yet Judge is still doing things A Rod never could.
@gabrielwendell8382 except for the fact that he won 3 batting titles, which is the most in the AL by a catcher ever. Not to mention a career .306 batting average. To play devils advocate, he didn't have playoff success, and he didn't have a lot of home runs in his career. However, may I remind you he played for a Minnesota team, and we don't exactly have the best luck in the playoffs. Plus, the twins didn't draft Joe Mauer to be a home run hitter. He was supposed to be the guy to put in when you needed a hit or a double in the gap. And he did just that, and I would argue that he did better than anybody. But I also want the video cause he's my favorite player of all time.
@@gabrielwendell8382the best hitting catcher of the 2000s (and arguably one of the all-time best) not belonging in the Hall of Fame is certainly a take
Man Cam, had Griffey and Arod had stayed in Seattle they would have ended up playing with Ichiro, and would have been amazing even with Edgar still there. By the way, everybody loved the way Dave Niehaus called games. Griffey left in 2000, and Arod left in 2001. It could have been like Ruth and Gehrig.

06:25 Man, imagine A-Rod added to the 04 Red Sox and sticking with that dynasty. It's a shame he broke down to injuries after 2010 and had the steroid scandals. Imo baseball really messed up cutting him out. I loved him as a kid and he never embraced or promoted steroids publically. They should've let him finish out his career and get his records in return for forefeiting his salary to use for charity instead of suspension. That would've been a fair deal and put the purity of the game at the center if he took the deal. Bonds had already put the records into question so no big loss...A-Rod definitely helped the game more than he hurt it. He still would've been a great player minus the PEDs...my personal take is that if they're still HOF worthy after you chop off 5 good seasons and cut their stats to 75%, they should be considered out of love of the game. Banning all the 90s/00s steroid users from the Hall of Fame spits on all the dedication and enjoyment fans had. Doesn't make the game pure. Have em vigorously oppose drug use in player culture and in public and rehabilitate them. My two cents.
Oh man Barry Larkin, Cincinnati kid grew up there like Rose did, played at University of Michigan and then played for his hometown Reds teams for his entire career like Gwynn and Ripken. You can't have it any better.

As a Yankee fan as much bs as Alex got into self inflicted. He might be the 2nd best all around player I’ve ever seen. His 07 season felt like he got a game winning hit every time he came up in that situation after being killed it felt like since the Yankees blew that 3-0 lead against Boston
