I had great success on my RS with a small 1:10 scale model (separate parts, sword, sheath, bag, etc.), using the PAP10 settings at 30µm with my Sunlu ABS-like Gray resin. The supports were a little flimsy but overall the print came out perfectly with no pitting. Thanks for these vids!
Petition for a video testing all of the settings for the best Sunlu ABS like precision prints! I know people that want to mass print resin tabletop terrain on the cheap, and it looks like Sunlu ABS like is the best bang for your buck with this printer! Appreciate you as always mate, even if you don’t make that video. It would be cool if you did though 😅
Thank you for posting about this issue. I'm excited to see HeyGears has come out with a printer that works outstandingly well without having to fiddle with a myriad of endless settings lest your prints fail or turn out weird, the thought of which I found quite daunting as a beginner learning about this hobby. In looking for the right machine, I just want to print and paint cool figures. Good to know it will work with other resins, as I was concerned about that given the comments on other sites.
Thanks you for this. Really appreciate the effort you're taking to show this machine isn't as locked out as some think. I ordered my RS with PRM last week. Hopefully they have started shipping and I should get notice it's on the way soon.
Good stuff as always! I also tried mixing the HeyGears Pap10 with Jamg He Nebula Gray when I was running low. Everything still printed with no failures on the Pap10 setting.
Man I love this guy. I’m looking to mass print terrain for DnD without wanting to pay the premium for miniature detail, and this is EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you!
@@greedy3d480Any idea which setting yields the best results for the Sunlu ABS like resin? They have a crazy sale right now. I got 4kg for like $70. The reflex RS arrived in the mail today too and I just ordered it 2 days ago, kind of strange lol because it arrived alone
@@greedy3d480 Then maybe try Jamg He Art Engineering and please report ;) Because Shaun from Gray Scalp Miniatures said a few days ago that it doesn't. But he also said that the Conjure resin from Chitu Systems doesn't work in the RS either, but you showed that it worked well with good print quality and zero failure, so…?
Great video. Looks like the resin options are opening up. Can you try printing a series of clear and colored transparent resins like Anycubic high clear and the Siraya clears?
Really appreciate the video. Do prints look any better with Heygears resin or are they not very distinguishable from the 3rd party resins you've tested?
I would love to see you try the (relatively) low cost formlabs resin. Their grey v5 is $79 per liter, but they boast extremely low VOCs, so could be a match made in heaven
Thank you very much! So the models do print just as well on the Reflex RS with the PRM module, good to know. Can you be a bit more specific about the traces left on the surface of the objects after removing the supports in warm water (as we do not see the underside of the figurines)? How are they compared to the same object printed with the same 3rd-party resins but without the PRM? And vs the real PARP10 resin too (with PRM/no PRM)
I second that motion. Took the thoughts right out of my head! Mr. Greedy, please run the same tests, same resin, without the PRM. Why? Well, the PRM, with lower peel force, will be a bit easier on the models and supports than without the PRM. I suspect all the models will still print fine, but they will take a bit longer to print, as the Blueprint software calculates a slower “lift speed” and maybe a modified “dynamic lift-speed timing profile” to compensate for a greater peel force. Carry on, our leader, Mr. Greedy!
What I'd like to see is testing of different coloured resins from other brands... e.g black resin or white resin. I've hears that settings for black need tweaked on other printers, so keen to find out if black or white resins can be printed with PARP10 resin setting.
Not sure if you still monitor this - I really liked & appreciated the video, just getting in to 3D printing and like the RS. I was wondering if you have tried or know anyone that has tried any of the plant-based/bio-resins in the RS? Thanks again for the videos, lots of great information!
Just got my heygear in resin other items are back ordered. So to use it I used Sunlu ABS at 30 instead of 50. The model printed great some davits, so few and small that I’m not going to mess with them.
Thanks for this research, it showes nicely that it can handle also 3rd party resins. But what about dimensional accuracy, how accurate can it get with 3rd party resins?
I have an RS, printed Sunlu Red Wax resin using PARP10 profile (50um experimental), didn't use the Pulsing Release Module just the stock vat. The X/Y dimensional accuracy was within 0.02mm, Z accuracy was +/- 0.2mm. It's a great printer!
Any plans to test elastomeric resins? very keen to understand if they will work with the Reflex.. definite deal breaker for me at the moment. p.s. thanks for the videos, great stuff!
I think the printer is good, their atremp at locking the consumer in their ecosystem is greedy. I'd like the option to buy these printers but unless they open up the settings i am sticking with Elegoo
You mentioned the FEP at the end of the video - I can't find replacement FEP on heygears site and it looks custom? Is it? Also can't find any details about replacing the FEP. Might be a good "Corner the market" video for you to make to educate us all?
The HeyGears FEP comes as a unit with the gasket, they call it the "release film module". Unlike most consumer printers it's simply unscrew the old one and screw in the new - no tensioning or trimming needed. More expensive, but they also say their FEP lasts a lot longer (even longer with the PRM), though they couldn't tell me how long exactly because they were stull doing the endurance testing. It looks like they don't have any replacement modules for the RS tanks available at the moment.
@@greedy3d480 Indeed, it has arrived now, but I find a lot of resins are not supported, and not at 30 micron for any water-washable ones. I will have to have my own experiements.
Today I've been chatting with people of HeyGears and they've told me they have just come back from holidays today (1-7 October) and they had troubles with the printers (they're out of stock until today, they say)...so we are still waiting for the tracking info from Heygears. On the other hand, the support team doesn't seem to be so much proactive (at least for regular customers) I've been writing emails for 2 weeks and none has answered them...until this morning when I've succeed chatting with one of their team. I don't know what to think about HeyGears. Let's see!

I've tried the PARP10 setting with the Elegoo 8K Standard Resin Space Grey and it prints beautifully.
It's a fantastic machine

Well done. I reached out to Sireya Tech they said they were going to reach out to you about testing their resin.
Yes I did reach out I've got some on the way thank you for your help
Saw your post asking if anyone would want these models. I'll happily take them them if the offer is still open please. Another great video 👌👍

Curious what is like to change the FEPs on the Pulse Release VAT?

How about without the pulsing release module? I chose not to get it as it seamed unessisary.
I'm absolutely certain those readings will work without the pulsing release module

Pretty much anything

Is it safe to use rubbing alcohol on the RS vat ?
I used ipa no issues
