Great tips for newbies. I love your booth. When i started, I bought 3 of the little 2 pocket aprons from Walmart that cost less than $6 total. I layered and stitched them together, leaving all six pockets accessible. I fill four separate pockets with 1's, 5's, 10's, & 20's. I put a notepad, calculator & pen in the 5th and my phone in the 6th. I end up with 3 separate ties that i tie in the back for extra security.I've since sewn a few for fellow crafters who've found them easy to use. I carry what I call my go bag that has things you may need for repairs, clean up or whatever, like scissors, zip ties, baby wipes, jewelry tools & extra jewelry findings, extra business cards, extra ribbon, paper towels, a small medical kit and a lot of other little things I may need. For those starting out and/or flying solo like me, if it's going to be a long day, pack a lunch, snacks and drinks because food at events if available can eat into your profit. Also you should have a trash bag or container, for not just tour trash or others looking to discard cups and such. Just a few thoughts to add to what you've given.
I would love to see that apron, sound awesome. You really load up for the craft fair. I do take things to make repairs, paper towels and trash bags too. Under my tables are full LOL. I will pin your comment to the top so that others can read it. Thanks for sharing.
@PattiJGood I'll get a pic of it once I find it. I relocated my craft space from a small & very cramped bedroom in my house to the large bonus room upstairs with the help of my son & his friend last weekend. I'm glad I had the help, but bless it. They dumped jewelry stuff in with sewing and my vinyl stuff in with my small woodworking projects, and my candle stuff is mixed in somewhere. Since I have a craft event coming up in a few weeks, I've got to focus on getting it all sorted out so I can get back to creating. Cross your fingers that my Go bag is intact because that's where my little apron is. 🤣🤣🤣
Wow this was great advice and tips! Thank you for being so humble and sharing what’s worked for you. I’m starting my side gig as a crafter and will be conducting my first show this year. Luv❤your tips and experience! Thank you! 😊
Just another thought - if you have a helper (spouse, child, friend) in your booth (always good for the food run and bathroom visits), it's good to make sure you brief them on what you've got and how you make it because people will always want to know and they always appreciate the information which gives them the confidence to buy.
Wholly cow Patti - what don't you do?! You must have the energy of 10 women! Your craft booth looks FABU and all the extras that you do definitely adds a lot of WOW factor. Great tips, even for crafters who don't sell their items but give as gifts, to add extra bling to packaging.
So many great ideas! Can't wait to try these at my next event. And at 6:31...just have to say "Howdy neighbor!" I live just around the corner so I'll have to come see your booth in person and smell those lovely candles sometime!
Thank you so much. Homemade pies probably sell really well. It would be hard to be next to you at a craft fair, I would spend all my profit at your space LOL.
This is one of the best videos I have seen. It goes over exactly the information that we needed as a brand new business! Thank you so very much for taking your time to share your knowledge. Super helpful!
Wow! Just WOW! It makes sense that you would sell all your wonderful creations. I doubt if your craft fair is any where near me. Your booth looks fantastic, I am sure you do well at the fairs. A big thank you again for sharing everything with your subscribers.
God bless you for being so kind and thoughtful! Your experience and advice is extremely helpful! You are so organized, it is very impressive, but you have invested a lot of money in order to have your booth look so professional. I appreciated the fact that you took the time to show us the Amazon pictures of everything you recommended. Do you also have a tent, for outdoor fairs? Thank you again! I pray that God will bless you and your daughter’s efforts, and that your highest expectations be exceeded!
Thank you so much Linda, you so sweet. I do not have a tent for outdoor fairs. I only do the indoor ones. I had a bad experience at an outdoor event where my tent blew down because of a storm.
Wonderful and thorough tips! It is so kind of you to share your experience with others so that they too can achieve success. It shows the true beauty and generosity of your soul Patti! 💞💗💕
Great tips, thank you. I have an extra small fold up table in the back of my big table to use as a utility table. I also have a covered shelf in the middle of my big table that I hide my cash box and other stuff under the shelf. I don't do outside shows, but if I do, my husband can watch my table. Inside, the vendors are back to back, so our stuff is safe, and we get tables and chairs, too. And again, I hide my box. But again, great tips are worth exploring some of them.
Thank you for sharing your tips, your booth looks classy and I would definitely be pulled in by the way you displayed your items not to mention your products
Suggest draping fabric behind the metal grid walls to contain customer attention within the booth. Height is crucial,so is lighting.Invest in spot lighting to capture attention. Apron is great and men should adopt the habit, too. Best wishes from retired UK crafts and gifts fair organiser.
Fantastic tips!! One thing I would suggest is to hang white (or black in your case) table cloths/canapy siding on the outside of your grid walls. Your display is lovely & organized, yet grid walls are visually busy. Adding a same-colored backdrop makes their visual noise disappear & helps customers focus on your products. Also, I understand/respect your idea to bring in customers with fragrance. However, more and more people are becoming allergic or sensitive to chemicals. That does include essential oils. I work in an art market, and I can not tell you how many customers "suddenly" can't breathe or start coughing or sneezing by the candle/soap displays. 😉 So, prepackaging is genius on your part! Thank you for the great ideas!!🫶
I have my first "craft fair"/big Christmas market coming up and your video has been SO helpful for preparation - I've watched it several times already and get a new idea each time. Thanks for posting this great video!
I appreciate this video so much! Trying to find enough space for 2 6’ tables was difficult. And not seeming cluttered. All your tips were extremely helpful and I can definitely put to use in my set up! Thank you for taking the time to do that!
You have a beautiful booth with your daughter. That's wonderful to do this together. So many great tips for having a booth. All of this should be thought about ahead of time. You're a well seasoned crafter with valuable knowledge that you are willing to pass on. Not everyone would care to be as helpful so thank you for what you do. I learned so much and I thank you Patti
Patti, girl your booth is so appealing, absolutely fabulous! If l were craft fair shopping and saw this booth l would make a hasty beeline straight to it. Thank you for your generosity in sharing some of your ideas on staging your products to sell. Even for those of us that do not sell our crafts it is still inspiring to see the packaging just for gifting ideas. I didn’t think l could become anymore amazed by you than l already am, but l was wrong, your talent for all that you do is positively top notch, superbly done!! I so appreciate you, your creativity, and generosity in sharing!!
I use the latter shelf and my other 2 shelfs and add a lot of decorations to my booth and sold more than double I have ever done in the past so thanks for your tips
