Very helpful. Lots of good ideas. Could you do a video on gift store setups where you have a space of about 2x4’. These are shows with a central cashier. Vendors are not present except if they do a shift on cash. The Christmas or summer market last about 6 weeks.

Great information for anyone who does booths because we spend so much of our time at our own booths at shows. It's textbook information for anyone who who has never done a booth, especially at Chi Omega and Vintage Market Days. Thanks so much Amy! Do you do any other shows these days?

haha funny you should ask... I was really tempted to do Vintage Market Days this year but it just wasn't in the cards with some of my other commitments. Maybe next year... Thanks for watching!!

Thank you for this video, Amy. As always, very helpful information. Thank you so much for stopping by to say hello at Vintage Market Days! And thank you for featuring my booth in your video! Next year, I plan to change where my check-out station is located. I plan to put it towards the front so that people can line up for purchases in the aisle instead of inside the booth. One customer came back on the second day of the show. She told me that she had to come back the second day because she could not even get into my booth on the first day-- because the line to purchase was so long inside the booth. Lesson learned. It was so fun to meet you! Thank you again for coming to meet me, and thank you for mentioning my booth in your video! Your comments and advice are always helpful and appreciated!!

Catherine what a pleasure to meet you and feature your booth! It was an example of someone doing everything right. I thought your check-out area tucked away in the corner was fine but it just goes to show that if you do everything right you may have customers overflowing the booth. Good problem to have! Cheers and here's to more success at the next one!!

Very helpful video Amy. You've really done the leg work to help those of us that do markets have a better understanding of what is trending. We live in the Dallas Area and have done the Chi Omega Christmas Market, Vintage Market Days, Aspasians, and McKinney Trade Days, and will benefit from several of your tips and observations. I have a relative that wants to start doing trade shows to support a small boutique business she has just started. Any tips on the easiest one to start at?

Hey thanks for the question! Since you mentioned Aspasians, I have found that to be an inexpensive show that has a good crowd turnout- a great place to start if you are anywhere near Rockwall, TX.

I can't believe how many colors and sizes of balloons they make now- you can create really cool decorations! Thanks for watching Marlys ;-)

Excellent content within this video and you are in my area!!!! Finally ran across someone in Texas and not the northeast or west coast. Your insight is relatable and given in a quick brass tacks concrete fashion. Well done. I saved this for review over and over while I am setting up my business early fall 2023 - the work began a month ago!

Hi Amy! It's a year since you posted this.
I have an experience to share!
I just spent 9 days selling at our local County Fair in N.CAROLINA.
It was an 8x8 indoor booth, with cranberry and bright gold waist high curtains, and the same colors 8ft. High on the perimeter walls.
I had planned a double booth but backed out to a single, since it was my first time there. I should have done the double.
This was a mixed show...everything from politics to Girl Scouts, Charities, churches artists and crafts.
I sold handmade items, mostly sewn with some glass block lights and papercrafts, cards.
I Won a Blue Ribbon for the best booth! One of 4 given.
I used a white pop up frame with 300 led lights around the upper parts of the frame. Initially, I set up a U shaped configuration.
But people would not walk inside. The first day I sold $ 0. The second day, $5.00.
    Then 25.00, etc.
On the third day I moved my biggest table across the front, it has a panel frame covered with fabric.. It allowed a back room space for storage.
The sales started to improve, but not much.
The next day I spent editing and printing new business cards, and stood out front for the rest of the show offering
Alterations to as many High School girls as possible. Plus well dressed or special needs types.
I had to change my strategy. Those people were only interested in buying food!
