The best cutscene is when you abandon the council. Joker flies in, the Ascension rejoices and thanks the Alliance over the radio, then Joker ignores them, flips the switch off and the Ascension crew are like "They... they closed the channel". So cold, great cut scene
Yeah, like we don't see anything that look like gun on that ship. It supposed to be nearly as strong as sovereign-class ship. Even in ME3 we never even see it solo just one sovereign-class reaper, big missed opportunities.
The scene at 3:23 is a masterpiece in cinematography. One of the coolest things to experience for the first time and it still wows me today. It really makes you feel the massive scale of the citadel and how disorienting things can be when "up and down" are as artificial as they are in space. Excellent work by the creative team that put it together.
Something interesting I just thought of. For all Saren says "we organics are powered by emotion instead of logic", Sovereign is destroyed because he gets angry and makes a tactical mistake. When he assumes direct control of Saren's corpse, Sovereign is clearly pissed off at Shepard's interference. But by doing that, he gives Shepard and crew the chance to kill the husk, knocking out Sovereign and giving the fleet the chance to finish him off. If Sovereign had just focused on opening the relay, the fleet probably wouldn't have been able to stop him in time, but out of frustration he went to deal with Shepard personally, which lead to his defeat.
It probably felt like a self contained story with the hint of something more. 2 was a clearly a bridge between 1 and 3 and 3's ending was completely rushed considering the investment that most players had made to that point. That also describes most trilogies very well, the Star Wars OT coming to mind at first.
I love how Sovereign slowly becomes visible in the space cloud and then plow it’s way through the Turian fleet like they’re nothing. An absolute bad ass giant space squid.or cuttlefish. 2:13
The Alliance ships can be explained away through advances in the next two years, as for sovereign, those were coming from the “arms” so they were probably secondary weapons, not the main gun, by this point were sovereign is actually engaging, its main guns are pointed down on the citadel tower.
@@sternguard8283 Those new Alliance ship sounds are awful compared to the original or even ME3. As for Sovereign, the laser sound should be the same, since in ME3, a Reaper destroys an Alliance cruiser in the end battle with it's secondary weapon and it's the same sound effect.
I played it first back in 2008. When I fought Saren, I probably wasn't breathing. When we got him down and Joker jumped in with the fleet behind, I was literally and figuratively crying out loud. And then the final blow that takes Sovereign down after he was seemed almost impenetrable. Unmatched experience that neither 2 nor 3 game could've repteated even though they were more technically advanced. What a game.
Harbinger on ME3 was still protected by its multiple shields besides it strong hull armor, so firing Normady cannon or missile would have had little effect.
@@marcelOberauer Maybe the Crucible disabled or dismissed the Reaper systems so they could be shot up. The point is, they could have written a far superior ending where the player would experience a strong payoff by blasting the Reapers to dust. I love the trilogy, but the ending of 3 is pretty questionable and lacks the same satisfaction as 1 and 2.
@@Coyote5005 Nah, shooting Harbinger with the Normandy would have been kind of repetitive, they do that on ME and ME2 already. But it was a good final for me tho. At the end it made me feel that the options were getting low, the reapers were winning and every one was about to die, there was no Normandy to save them at the end, and there was no other solution than a last sacrifice, with the last options according at you morality. Most people did like it because it didn't clearly answer all their doubts and questions. For me it was enought, the reapers stopped after a big sacrifice, the rest is pure imagination. That was also the idea of writers if they were pretending to do another MA.
This is one of the games I come back to and run through the trilogy. Playing this game got me through a tough time In my life. I was hooked every since I got me1 in 2008 at Walmart. I never knew what would come from that 15$ game. I knew nothing about it I just started middle school with the weight of a life changing accident in the family. It gave me something to look forward to every time I got home and helped me find my groove back! Thank you to everyone in BW. You made the Mass Effect experience so special and will ALWAYS be a core memory I will carry with me to death.
You’re right, it’s either a cruiser or a frigate. Did the Turians even have dreadnoughts at the Citadel? I will be surprised if they didn’t, because the Citadel is really important.
@@JCShadow Probably not. The biggest baddest ship is already there, and locking down the relays probably didn't seem possible so they probably thought they could easily get reinforcements if needed.
I love Andersons speech about uniting to prepare for the reapers and then in Mass Effect 2 its like "yeah actually we've done nothing." Writing took a serious nosedive after this game
Just finished this game for my first time! This was the ending I got! This was truly an incredible game! I loved all of the characters, the storytelling, just the whole universe! I only started it 3 days ago and I put in 25 hours! The ending got me a bit emotional. I can't wait to get into the next game!😄
Why is it when this starts, the OST reminds be of Star Wars episode 3? The drums? Whatever they are called they remind me so much of it. God I love how good this looks now
16:20 is my highlight of this ending. I usually bring my LI and Garrus on this mission, and somehow Garrus is always in this shot, he looks absolutely perfect with his design in that shot, so much emotions. And I also love that "It's the Alliance, open the comms chanel" scene, both in paragon and in renegade endings it's probably one of the most powerful scenes in entire trilogy
I just finished legendary ME 1, quick question to everyone, are the geth soldiers spawning in the final fight a new thing in the legendary edition? Because I don't remember, there being geth soldiers in the final fight in the old ME
I love how the fixed alliance ship firing vfx for the end part, where those ships now firing thier spinal mass driver like they supposed to. But they still left the one in arrival bit where a ship conjured 2 blast of energy type weapon out of nothing, coming drom it's underside.

Tip for people that have the game crash at the final boss. Go to option and turn FPS to 60 or below. Higher than this and your game will keep crashing like mine did.

Am I the only one whose companions disappeared? As soon as the final fight with Saren started Kaiden and Wrex just disappeared from my screen. I had fight solo the entire time. Not awful, just slow! They were completely missing from the scene in the wreckage too. Just the blonde guy helping the air walk out since there weren't any characters there. I was so sad! Glad I got to see the scene with Kaiden here at least! No way was I redoing that fight. I played on hardcore and Saren's stupid shield took forever to break like 17 times.
Can anyone help me? i dont know why but once i beat saren transformed mid movie it gets me into infinite loading and doesnt go to next scene to talk to council
The Asari are clearly one of the weak points of the overall amazing Mass Effect story. They're supposed to be the wise ancient alien race that set the standard for all galactic civilization, keeping peace through their enlightenment and maintaining order with their supernatural powers, yet they all look and sound like a bunch of college student girls on spring break. Imagine having them look more awesome, by having a constant distortion effect over their bodies which lenses into a soft-focus illusion of beauty whenever they're being suggestive, and then instantly solidifies into an energy barrier if they're attacked. Imagine how much more impact it would be to hear the terror in the voices of the Destiny Ascension commanders, if they had a voice modulation on that made them sound as alien and perfectly-composed as the Vorlons of Babylon 5. Or at the very least, the Minbari, who were much closer to human, yet still had that "wise ancient race" energy even when they were shouting orders in the middle of a battle. As is, it's just impossible to take them seriously; in otherwise excellent scenes, I have to just try and ignore these blue Barbie dolls with little pixy voices trying to make the situation sound deadly dangerous, by hammily overacting like an 8-year-old in a school play production of Macbeth where they actually use Nerf weapons for the duel and murder scenes.
The citadel is a awe inspiration piece of technology. When we consider it's co partner or similar we consider the Dyson sphere I wonder what this recent discovery in our own galaxy is a large cigar shaped object. Could it be a random massive rougue astroid or a abandoned aincient structure. Amazingly the space around it is empty so could a old civilization of built it from planets in that once full region?
So do you need to do certain quests and things before this battle for the alliance to show up? like what is honestly heavily determined by what you do in this game? or isn’t it as heavily determined as it’s sequels?
Not really but if you want to be levelled proper then yes because level 30s (15s if your on legendary mode) because that last section up to the tower would be more damn difficult without it

Shepard clearly regretted saving Kaidan on Virmire. To make up for it, she makes him a wear a lookalike version of Ashley's armour and insists on calling the Lieutenant, 'Ash.' Probably.

@@e.b9996 it's not about optimization, game crashing during the Saren fight was a frequent bug in the original where i first encountered it and now it moved to the remaster completely unfixed. Same goes for all the other notorious bugs and exploits: in Conrad Verner quest, Garrus quest and some others game doesn't save your decisions properly, sometimes Shepard looses ability to turn during a fight, you can farm infinite paragon enegade points on Noveria, you can never get enough exp to reach level 60. Such a bad job for such a big studio, releasing a remaster without even trying to fix those problems, people were complaining for 10 fucking years and Bioware didn't even bother to read those bug reports.
... no. I've played the original Mass Effect a dozen times over and this is an upgrade in every way. It doesn't look like a brand new, cutting-edge game, but it is the best ME1 has ever looked, period. That includes the molded PC versions.
While sovereigns reflection and lighting is better. I absolutely loathe the changing in lightning. The originals darkness when it comes in was grim and moody in the right way. This just makes it too damn bright.
The SJW's still employed at Bioware changed the default shapard to the Female version. I was hoping they'd all been fired after they ruined the company with Andromeda.

All the videos I see " Female sheppard " I quit, I can't picture another Shepard than the " Customized " Face from mark van der loo. It doesn't exist another one.

There is something about ME1’s ending that the other games never matched.
Me1’s feeling of the player being inspired at the end is something 2 and 3 never did. They always felt too abrupt in their endings

The Normandy kill shot should have been recreated in ME3 with Harbinger. What a missed opportunity.

sounds like a bug, I think if you replay it they would show up. or you can just replay it at insanity.

Not really but if you want to be levelled proper then yes because level 30s (15s if your on legendary mode) because that last section up to the tower would be more damn difficult without it

My game has only crashed 1 time in about 60 hours of gametime through the trilogy, way better optimised than the original games
@@e.b9996 it's not about optimization, game crashing during the Saren fight was a frequent bug in the original where i first encountered it and now it moved to the remaster completely unfixed. Same goes for all the other notorious bugs and exploits: in Conrad Verner quest, Garrus quest and some others game doesn't save your decisions properly, sometimes Shepard looses ability to turn during a fight, you can farm infinite paragon
enegade points on Noveria, you can never get enough exp to reach level 60. Such a bad job for such a big studio, releasing a remaster without even trying to fix those problems, people were complaining for 10 fucking years and Bioware didn't even bother to read those bug reports.

... no. I've played the original Mass Effect a dozen times over and this is an upgrade in every way. It doesn't look like a brand new, cutting-edge game, but it is the best ME1 has ever looked, period. That includes the molded PC versions.
While sovereigns reflection and lighting is better. I absolutely loathe the changing in lightning. The originals darkness when it comes in was grim and moody in the right way. This just makes it too damn bright.
Agreed. The darker lighting of the original is much better. hopefully a mod will fix that soon.

I played as maleshep in the original three trilogy and then femshep in the Legendary Edition, I prefer femshep overall.
The SJW's still employed at Bioware changed the default shapard to the Female version. I was hoping they'd all been fired after they ruined the company with Andromeda.

@@AFGuidesHD Some don't see a big deal with it, but Bioware censored the angles of Miranda and other females in Mass Effect Legendary. I personally saw no need to do any changing from the original, but they thought that it was too sexy for today's times. (What does that even mean?)
