where do you get bass wood?
When I remove the excess I am not ending up with a pyramid. I have a piece of wood with 8 sides. What am I doing wrong?
sounds like you're cutting the corners instead of the flat sides.

I have to find somewhere to buy my wood cheaper. Amazon is a complete rip off. I’m calling lumber yards and saw mills in the morning. I’d go broke if I bought my practice wood from one of the hobby shops or amazon.
I haven’t carved in 15 years. It’s like starting all over again. I looked at stuff I carved and said, “how did I do that?” Oh boy...
