I tend to not watch videos about games I haven't played yet so I'm looking forward for this series
I do have some criticism (you can decide if is constructive or not)
Is nice seeing that you are looking around for items. This game use lack of resources for tension.
Cat is getting better as a backsitting, with a good balance of comments about the game and off topic, also good timing of comments in slow and fast pace moments. Like what and when to say something. Good stuff.
Being a non-playing co-host is tough because you have a different set of rules that are expected of you like, let the player play, pay attention to the game, don't give too many suggestions, etc. Is hard stuff to pull of.
When you have already played (or in this case watched) your expected rule set is even stricter. You are not allowed to talk about future events, you have to hold your expressions on plot twists hints, you can only talk about knowledge the player is already supposed to know.
Something I didn't like in the Portal playthrough was when Cat gave away the solution to puzzles.
That being sayed Cat did excellent as a "knowing backsitter". The only moments I can see people getting triggered were when she confirmed Ellie was the cargo, I belive "guess what it is" was fine, but confirming it was Ellie (even though is obvious) can make people upset, and talking about future game mechanics, like the workbench or the molotov cocktail, talking about it can affect the surprise when it happens. Like if I say "you can get a mega-turbo-double-circular-chainsaw-chopsticks but just later in the game" when you finally get the mega-turbo-double-circular-chainsaw-chopsticks you will not be as surprised since you already expected it.
That being said, great video nonetheless 👏👌👍

Thank you for being so kind with your constructive feedback :) I'll be honest, I often struggle with what to say, how to "be" in these few games I know that Kati doesn't. Clearly I get super excited when I know things Kati doesn't within a game sometimes (I feel like Riley from National Treasure when he knows a history fact that the history buffs didn't know) and especially in here with The Last of Us. I got too excited and triggered the other fans. I'm a fan too, I don't wanna ruin it for anyone. We've already recorded a few more episodes of this series, but I will do my best to keep my lips zipped in the future about anything else in the game so there's no spoilers!

I like this dynamic in reacting to the game - person who knows the game and person who has first proper approach to the title. You have good points sometimes and it's pleasant to listen to you, without forced shenanigans and pathethic puns. Good job!
I'm staying to the end of the series. I'm obsessed with this universe for about a year right now, played twice both games (and looking to play more in the future) and watched playthroughs like 5 times each one.

Basically this stream is just the other lady going "oh hey bet you didn't know this yet so me let me spoil it for you" every three seconds. Otherwise it's great, looking forward to the next one.

Can’t wait to watch! I always like seeing peoples first time reactions haha. And about not being able to play because you never had a console: I hope you get the chance to try and play one day! I am in the same boat, but I’m currently borrowing my brothers PlayStation just to play this and part II because I’m obsessed with these games 😂 I couldn’t even control the camera correctly during the Sarah parts, it was really bad lol but I’ve gotten the hang of it! Such a great game!

6 hours the cast had spent shooting Sarah's death scene on the motion capture stage, only for Neil Druckmann to call them back two weeks later to reshoot it. Poor Hana Hayes was only 12 years old at the time.

@@cait_and_kati Indeed, you can find videos on UA-cam where Troy Baker talks about it. But if you guys were in that position, where the director calls you back to reshoot such a scene that left you emotionally drained, would you go back and do it over again or throw in the towel? If it were me, I'd choose the latter.
@@GreyDoofus88 I love acting as storytelling so much that I absolutely would go back to make sure it gets done to the best of my ability. However, I fully understand if somebody would not go back and I have never been in that kind of position so I would not truly know how I'd react to it. -K
@@cait_and_kati That and the fact the director wants you to get rid of any your own ideas of how you think the scene should play out. Sometimes to be great actor you have to do as you're told by the director, because it's not your moment as a performer, it's the character which you're portraying that has the limelight. Something which Troy completely forgot about when they shot it the first time around, spending 6 hours that day doing take after take of the same scene.

Others have already mentioned this, but I find it important enough to add a "me too" of sorts: I was looking forward to this play through, but after half of this episode, I had to stop. The near constant spoilers are killing it for me, and I guess I won't continue watching this series. That is not meant in a hurtful way, I personally just don't like it and expect a "blind" playthrough to be spoiler free. It is hard enough dealing with comment section spoilers, but having the color commentator spoil events and mechanics is a no-go for me. I'll stick to watching your other content, and I do hope you will enjoy your Last Of Us experience anyway. The game is worth it.

I learned the lesson of not being a 'spoiler' from this episode. I don't take offense to what you've said, you're being totally honest and I do appreciate that. If no one said anything, we'd just loose viewers and have a mediocre series, and Kati wouldn't get to enjoy this game. I got excited - like I said, I really enjoy this story. And I don't know anything about games ever, but this one I know a little.
Was I an annoying and overbearing commentator? Yeah. I can't stand this episode of myself because I know I messed up...but if you stick around I hope you can see, I learned my lesson. If you do want to see how Katie progresses, and a little less of my intrusive comments, I'd encourage you to stick around and see how she does. I promise, it'll be a lot more "blind" moving forward ❤️

Love the playthrough so far, but Idk why it is it just completely takes me out of the experience when i see or am with people that start doing commentary over a game they have already watched/played through.
I do understand that, but it is sometimes necessary for us with some games because we don’t want to go in not knowing if we’ll be able to play it or if it’s gonna be longer than expected. Glad you’re still enjoying it! -K
